Tribe troubles: Why Research Tribe might not be worth it

By Author Pete Chatfield

Posted on Last updated: 25/03/2024

If you’re looking to make some extra money in your spare time, then Research Tribe may have caught your eye. But let’s see why this site isn’t worth the effort and where else you should take a look.

Research Tribe homepage

Research Tribe summary

Although Research Tribe claims to send you unique earning opportunities, I never received one after several months as a member. Instead, they just sent me links to other sites which provide surveys and mystery shopping. Research Tribe will then earn a commission. You’re better off doing the research yourself.

Pros and cons:

✅ Errmm… quick to sign up ❌ Lack of earning opportunities ❌ Just refers you to other survey sites ❌ Not much to the website

A complaint

I’m going to start this Research Tribe review with a complaint, although that’s partly due to the fact that there isn’t much to review.

I started this blog quite a few years ago, mainly because I wasn’t happy with a lot of content out there. As a keen survey taker, I was always on the lookout for new sites to join but found many of the reviews were poor at best. Either people lied to earn a referral bonus or it was quite clear that they hadn’t tried the site out.

And after trying out Research Tribe for a month and not getting anywhere, I thought I would read what other people thought. And it didn’t come as a great surprise that the reviews I read were all very generic and told me absolutely nothing. All they said was that Research Tribe was legitimate and it provides people with a way to make money. Yeah, thanks for that.

What is Research Tribe?

Research Tribe promises to help you to make money by sending you emails that contain earning opportunities for

  • mystery shopping
  • product testing
  • focus groups

According to its website, it started off as a mystery shopping company over 10 years ago but has now opened up more ways for users to make money.

Is Research Tribe legit?

This is actually a tough one to call. Yes, this is a genuine company and they’re not out to scam you. In fact, they have been operating since 2011 . However, the website isn’t fully clear.

You see, you’ll sign up and give some personal details over to Research Tribe. Then, you’ll receive emails from them with links to sign up for other survey sites. In return, Research Tribe will make money.

Nowhere on its website is this made clear. But then, why would it? If Research Tribe is only going to send you invites to companies that pay them a commission, it means that you won’t always be sent the best earning opportunities. For example, Prolific is one of the best-paying survey sites out there but doesn’t pay referral fees. So Research tribe won’t send links to this site as they won’t make any money.

Email from Research Tribe

Is it worth joining?

No. Why restrict yourself to just what one company recommends? A quick search in Google can find dozens of companies you can join to help you make extra money. Plus, you can get reviews from all kinds of sources to see if a site is any good or not.

Why give your personal details to Research Tribe for no benefit?

Which sites should you join?

As I said above, you can use Google to find decent earning opportunities. I have also written a lot of summary posts that will give you a good overview of sites you can join to make money. Each one of them I have tried personally.

  • Best paid survey sites
  • Online focus groups and interviews for money
  • The best mystery shopping companies
  • How to become a product tester

My Research Tribe review conclusion

As I’ve said above, I see very little benefit to joining this site. Research Tribe isn’t interested in you making money, they want you to sign up to sites so they can make referral money.

After over two months as a member, I have received plenty of emails and earned absolutely nothing.

Has anyone ever worked with Research Tribe or YouGov for paid "opinions"?

EastMids2 · 09/01/2019 18:04

I must have clicked a box showing interest in online research through something called Research Tribe and just had email linking to YouGov where, apparently, I can "earn points and turn them into cash for giving my opinion on a range of topics". Does anyone know more or have experience of this? Is it genuine? Thanks in advance.

Hi there, You gov is genuine I do it. Have had a couple of 50 pound payments and am on way to another. You get so many points per survey and once you get 5000 you get money deposited into your account. Sometimes you can get a few a week and at other times maybe one but it's a few minutes to do and you get paid. Xxx

Thank you for that info - guess I'm just a little concerned about giving my bank details out etc, but then this does happen for online shopping etc so maybe I am being a bit unnecessary. Will probably give it a go!

I've done Yougov in the past. Must get back into the habit but yes, they do pay out

My ex does Populus and gets £50 every quarter or so

I've been doing You gov for about 3 years - have just earned enough points for my first £50! I find they sometimes send me loads of surveys, then I might not get one for months.

I have just had my first £50 from yougov but it took about 2 years. Maybe even longer. I used to get loads when I first signed up then they decreased in frequency to about 1 or 2 a week.

It took time but I have had 2 payments of £50 but I got bored of doing some of the really long surveys.

I've done you gov and had 150 quid so far. You can select how often they send you surveys and if you don't want to do one they send you just ignore the email. I could have had more but at times don't bother doing them for months.

Thanks again to everyone for responding. I will definitely give this a go (but be under no illusion of getting rich quick!).

Is Research Tribe legit? Can you really make money?

by Naomi Willis · updated 16 March 2023

There are rumours that you can make £70 a day with Research Tribe!

I’m not sure where they started, but the idea of some easy and quick cash from the comfort of your sofa will likely make a lot of people sign up.

But is it true? Is Research Tribe legit, and can you really make as much money as “they” say?

What is Research Tribe UK?

Research Tribe survey site where users can earn rewards for taking part in market research. Users are rewarded for their opinion and earn cash rewards.

Research Tribe is a London-based company that works with some of the biggest research companies in the world.

The research company has been going for ten years, and they suggest safe ways to make money from your computer or phone.

It is a free service open to anyone in the world.

Earn rewards

You can earn rewards in the form of cash, vouchers, products, gifts, prizes and much more.

It’s completely legitimate; although you won’t make huge amounts money taking part in paid surveys, it can be a decent side hustle .

Research Tribe Review – is it a scam?

research tribe

No, it’s not a scam and is a totally safe way to boost your income – but you need to be aware of how they actually work.

The business is registered in London and has strict rules about protecting your data. They work with bigger retailers to share your opinion and feedback.

However, it’s worth knowing that they are not a survey site themselves.

They make referrals to other survey companies and will earn money when you sign up.

For instance, since I joined the site, I have not received one direct survey from them. Instead, they have suggested I sign up with:

  • Branded Surveys
  • Future Talkers
  • Valued Opinions

While it’s easy enough to sign up with Research Tribe, it’s actually easier to sign up with the panels directly, as it prevents more emails from headed your way that just aren’t needed.

While these survey sites are not scams in any way, other legit cash survey sites include Swagbucks and Prize Rebel, where users earn small amounts of money or vouchers for giving their opinions.

Research Tribe also offers links to product testing , focus groups and mystery shopping opportunities as a way of making money online.

When you first sign up, they prompt you to join a site called “Cashback” (they make money for you to sign up for this). This is a “get paid to” site where you must complete tasks to get any money. The maximum you can get from this site is £150 (not a day, this is a one-off), provided you join gambling sites and pay to sign up for other trials.

Is it possible to make £70 per day?

Most research sites payout a few pounds here and there for your time. Some focus groups payout more – £40 – £100 for your time.

But you would be very lucky to earn £70 per day and the time spent taking surveys could become extremely boring.

Taking part in surveys means you could be on your way to making an extra £10 – £20 per week, even up to £50 if you sign up with a few different survey sites .

The average payouts for a survey on Research Tribe are between 50p and £5. The bigger payouts take up more of your time.

We found one survey that took 15 minutes and paid out £5.

An easy way to make a bit of extra cash

All research opportunities are optional, so there is never any obligation to take part in something that doesn’t appeal to you. Some focus groups take place face-to-face, and others online.

There is no membership fee to pay for most survey sites, including Research Tribe . On the face of it, it looks like a great way to make a little easy money.

You simply register, log in during your free time, and express your opinions on a survey; then, you get paid for it.

You may earn just a few pounds here and there for taking part in surveys online, but it all adds up and could help with the rising cost of living.

Research Tribe is a great free way to find out about survey sites you may never have heard of and earn a little bit of extra money on the side, but it will not make you rich. It is a genuine, free-to-join site, so you can get started straight away, although their emails don’t start until the day after you join.

You do need to give some personal details, such as your name, address and bank details, but this is so you can get paid.

How do these surveys help retailers?

Your opinions can help a company with future decisions and product planning. Such as:

  • Decide how best to target their products and services to certain customers
  • Decide whether to put a particular product on the market
  • Learn just who their target market actually is
  • Judge what the customer’s reaction may be to certain products and services
  • Assess the level of good customer service offered by their staff,

Why would a company pay for my opinion?

Companies pay for your opinions. It helps them understand what you like or dislike about a product, website or experience.

They learn what people like and look for in their products or service and what they don’t like about them.

This helps companies develop products or packaging.

Is there a better way to make a passive income?

There are lots of flexible ways to make a passive income.

Survey sites and flexible and low commitment. We believe the best alternatives to Research Tribe out there are YouGov and Swagbucks . Some of these sites pay cash to your bank account, or you may need to set up a Paypal account. Check out reviews online of any survey sites before signing up.

You can also scan your shopping receipts to earn an extra £5 – £10 per month using Shoppix, Huyu and others.

Use Cashback sites when shopping to earn extra money.

Other side hustles to try include “flipping”, where you buy bargains from charity shops and sell them on Facebook Marketplace for a higher price.

Blogging, tutoring, babysitting and dog walking are all family-friendly side hustles that you could fit into your time.

You can also start making money through affiliate marketing . This is where you sign up with a company or product and put a link on your blog or website.

You earn a small commission every time a user buys this product through your site.

Research Tribe review

Taking part in surveys online will not turn you into a millionaire or leave you with enough income to give up your main job or income.

But, as mentioned earlier, it’s perfectly legitimate, and there’s no reason to be concerned about joining and becoming a member.

You need to weigh up using your time doing the surveys online and if the surveys are worth it.

But Research Tribe is not a survey site itself – they are simply making money off you by referring you to other genuine surey sites.

Get started

Taking part in market research is a handy way to earn some extra money, and you can fit it into your own schedule. Some survey sites have a minimum payout.

There is no obligation to take part in all the surveys.

You can also sign up for other survey sites to increase your chances of earning more money.

My experience so far with this great…

My experience so far with this great firm has been great. The bookings have been coming even some days before ,which aids proper preparation for me and punctuality in these schools. Thank you once again Britney for ensuring am good all times. I have had some chats with some colleagues from other agencies working in the same school with me, the major reasons why some of them left rTriibe is because of the lower payment compared to their current agency, still this doesnt affect my delivery at all. But I hope this should be considered and looked into because the bitter truth remains that people go to where they earn more.. Aside the reward system, I feel every other thing is an A for me.

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback about your experience with rTriibe. We are delighted to hear that the advance booking process has been helpful for your preparation and punctuality. Your appreciation for Britney's support is wonderful to hear, and we'll be sure to pass along your kind words. Regarding your comments about the payment rates, we truly value your honesty and understand the importance of competitive compensation. We continuously review our compensation policies to ensure they are fair and aligned with industry standards. Your input is invaluable in this process, and we are committed to addressing these concerns to better meet the needs of our rTriibers. It’s heartening to know that aside from the reward system, your overall experience with us rates highly. We strive to maintain the highest standards in all other aspects of our service, and we’re pleased to receive an 'A' from you. Thank you once again for your feedback and for being a part of the rTriibe community. We are dedicated to improving and hope to continue providing you with a positive and fulfilling experience.

Research Tribe Rating

Research Tribe UK started with a group of people looking for mystery shopping opportunities. After ten years, they built a similar service and eventually expanded to advertising. Now, Research Tribe is an online hub that connects businesses to participants, helping them gather market insights to develop their products and services.

Share post:

I view online survey hustlers as one giant community. A tribe, if you may. We help each other, exchanging vital information on cash survey sites that pay well.

So, when I came across a company called Research Tribe, I knew I had to contribute to the community and determine if this site was legit.

Users of Research Tribe claim you can earn £70 per day, and you and I both know that just sounds too good to be true.

Then again, maybe this is the paid opportunity we all seek. It’s time to test these rumors. Here’s my complete review of this company.

An online survey site claiming to provide its members with a stable stream of paid surveys to help them make money online. Unfortunately, some links in its invitation lead to suspicious sites. There’s a chance that some invitations are legit, but be sure to research the sites it leads you to before giving out any important information about yourself.

What is Research Tribe?

You can find their main office at 124 City Road, London, England, but you can also visit their  website  to learn more about their mission.

Is Research Tribe Legit?

I have mixed opinions about Research Tribe’s website. On the one hand, it’s very simple and easily navigatable. On the other hand, perhaps it’s  too simple .

Nonetheless, I like that the homepage answers the most important questions you might be asking about the company.

You can also move to three other pages using the navigation bar, leading to Research Tribe’s story, registration form, and contact details.

However, the website is missing one very important feature. You can’t browse the available studies because you don’t apply for them.

Instead, Research Tribe connects with you for possible online surveys and other research opportunities.

Of course, I don’t judge the book by its cover. So, I tried searching online for Research Tribe reviews.

Unfortunately, there’s not much to see. Its  Google Business  page only has six reviews, with an average rating of 3.2 stars.

There’s one review that says,

“Paying peanuts. Waste of time”  (Tom Gee)

Some tags on Twitter also mention a few features of the site not working. Here’s one quick example.

“@researchtribe Unable to submit registration form as the “Join Now” button at the bottom of the form is not functioning.”  (Mike Hood)

However, this might have been a temporary issue because everything seemed to work fine when I signed up.

Based on these alone, I didn’t have enough evidence to assume Research Tribe was a scam. Still, I don’t think the rumor about earning £70 per day is true.

Cash rewards from paid surveys don’t commonly reach above £10, so it is highly unlikely that this could be a sustainable passive income.

So, I waited a few days to see if they would contact me for possible studies. I then received an email asking me to participate in a paid research study.

The invitation said that it was with another trusted company called Ipsos iSay. However, when I clicked the link, it sent me to this page.

research tribe full review paypal

The URL says “ publicsurveypanel.com ,”  not  Ipsos iSay. A quick search of PublicSurveyPanel reviews immediately told me it was a scam.

It has a 0.4-star rating on  Wot , and users say the website phishes information for identity theft and credit card abuse.

I closed the webpage and tried to open the link from the email again. It redirected me to another URL.

research tribe full review paypal spin

Right off the bat, I can immediately tell that this webpage is unsafe. It says I earned a $750 PayPal gift card (for doing nothing).

But if you look closer, it indicates that I can only claim it “upon completion of purchase requirements.”

It’s possible that whoever is behind this uses Research Tribe for free traffic methods and drives users to online scams pretending to be cash survey sites.

Considering all these, I advise you to avoid this website and be very cautious about online business models like these.

How Does Research Tribe Work?

If you still think Research Tribe is a reputable platform, or you want to take a chance and maybe receive a different email with legit links to survey sites, here’s a quick sign-up guide.

Step 1: Join Their Database

From the homepage, click the “Join” button on the navigation bar above to access the registration form.

research tribe full review registration

The form will ask for basic information such as your full name, email address, birth date, and gender.

But as you can see, the form includes an item that says “CITY/TOWN (UK ONLY),” indicating that its studies are only available in the United Kingdom.

However, even when I typed “Vancouver” and submitted the form, they accepted my application.

After submitting the form, Research Tribe will ask if you want to register for another website to maximize your earnings.

research tribe full review registration 2

The website’s name does not appear on the prompt, but clicking the “Yes, please. I’m interested!” button redirects you to Toluna Influencers.

It’s among the biggest research companies in the UK and other countries. But I’ll leave this up to you to decide.

Step 2: Wait for an Invitation

The next step is to wait for an invitation. This wouldn’t take too long since Research Tribe seems to have a lot of affiliate marketing business companies.

In my case, I received an invitation just two days after signing up. When I clicked on the link, it showed that I had to sign up for another affiliate marketing business online.

reserach tribe full review get paid

I tried repeatedly opening the link, but it never redirects to the companies indicated in the email. In some cases, the link leads to a dead end.

Nonetheless, if you’re willing to give Research Tribe the benefit of the doubt, just research the websites it leads you to.

How to Earn Money with Research Tribe

Research Tribe claims you can earn a stable and secure stream of extra money through the following research opportunities:

  • Taking surveys
  • Product testing
  • Mystery shopping
  • Focus groups

If you’re lucky enough to receive a legitimate invitation to any of these opportunities, you earn rewards in the following forms:

  • Free products (for product testing)

Instead of risking your personal information on suspicious websites, here are some of the best alternatives I encourage you to try.

1. Opinion Outpost

research tribe jobs reviews

Opinion Outpost is the most reputable platform for connecting relevant research participants to businesses looking to understand their target market.

This is a free website, so you don’t have to pay for anything or provide them with your bank account details.

You just need to create a free account and wait for their emails about upcoming surveys. You can cash out your earnings via PayPal when you reach 100 points or $10.

Amazon gift cards, however, have a lower minimum payout threshold of 50 points or $5.

Surveys from Opinion Outpost pay between $0.5 to $5.

2. InboxDollars

If you like making money through your smartphone, check out InboxDollars. You earn through taking paid surveys, playing games, shopping online, watching videos, or reading emails.

It’s a perfectly legitimate way to make money, and it’s also available on a desktop computer. They even offer a $5 signup bonus for newcomers.

The best part is that they don’t use a point system. You get paid with real cash. The surveys pay between $0.5 to $5 each, but the other methods of earning pay lower.

Playing games will probably earn you $0.03 in half an hour while watching videos will earn you around $0.02 every five minutes.

The minimum payout threshold is $10, so you can withdraw your money after just one to ten surveys.

3. Survey Junkie

research tribe jobs reviews

Survey Junkie is among the most popular survey sites in the US, Canada, and Australia. Late last year, they also opened their services to UK residents.

The survey site gathers hundreds of available studies in different categories ranging from food and beverage to healthcare and retail.

Building your profile may take a while, but doing so will significantly increase your chances of matching with more paid studies.

Survey Junkie also uses a point system, and you can convert these points into e-Giftcards or cash out via PayPal.

Research Tribe Review: The Verdict

Research Tribe undoubtedly has the potential to be one of the best survey sites in the UK. However, I have to say that this company is very suspicious, at the very least.

Even though I only received one email that led to a scam tactic, one is more than enough to completely lose its credibility.

I don’t recommend this website, but if you want to give it a try, I advise you to be extremely careful of providing them with sensitive information.

You don’t have to risk anything, though. If you try any of the alternative survey sites above, you’ll start making money safely.

Then again, answering surveys for money should not replace your day job and become your main income.

These are side hustles that let you earn extra cash on your free time.

Is Research Tribe Legit? – Everything You Need To Know

James Beattie

Have you been looking for ways to make some extra money online and came across Research Tribe? You may have even seen some claims that it can make you upwards of £70 per day. This doesn’t sound bad for filling out a few surveys and answering a couple of questions.

However, is Research Tribe legit and most of all, is it worth your time? I have researched the company thoroughly and in this article, we’ll see if they are actually legit and if they are worth your time. Let’s jump in.

Quick Overview Research Tribe is a legit company and is safe to use however it’s definitely not the best survey site out there. While they have some of their own offers, most of the time they are referring you to other survey sites that offer paid surveys. There are better uses of your time if you want to make money online.

What is Research Tribe?

When you first arrive on Research Tribes website, it’s honestly pretty vague. They make it hard to understand how you will be making money. On the surface, it looks like other paid survey sites. Complete a survey and earn a small amount of money for doing it.

When you sign up to Research Tribe you will start receiving emails from them with different surveys and offers they have available. While some of these are Research Tribes own original offers, most of them are just links to other survey sites.

When Research Tribe sends you an email with an offer, you will then have to sign up for another survey site to actually complete the survey and get paid unless it is one of Research Tribes own offers.

When you sign up there is no obligation to complete any surveys if you don’t want to. When you receive an email with an available survey, you can decide if you want to take part or not.

You do not need any prior experience to sign up and participate with Research Tribe. The only requirements are that you are from the UK and over 16 years of age.

Is Research Tribe Legit?

Research Tribe is a legitimate company and is not a scam. The company that owns and operates the website has been around since 2011. You can actually make some extra money by completing the surveys they send out.

They do collect some of your data when signing up such as name, email address, address, date of birth and bank account details. They do respect your ‘right to be forgotten’ and will delete this information if you ask them to.

While Research Tribe is not a scam, I personally don’t think they are a great survey site. While they do have some of their own original offers, most of the emails you receive will direct you to other survey websites such as Toluna, OnePoll, Branded Surveys and more.

This is their real business model. When they get you to sign up to these other paid survey sites, they actually make a commission for getting you to sign up. They are really just an affiliate marketing company getting their users to sign up to other survey sites.

There’s nothing wrong with this but you could easily go to these survey sites directly and complete the same offers and make the same money. In my opinion, Research Tribe is sending out offers that will make them good money when you sign up rather than sending out the best offers in the market.

It’s worth noting that the sites they send you to are not scams either. They are other legitimate survey websites.

So, they’re definitely not a scam and signing up can be a good way to get alerted for new surveys that are paying money. However, most of the time, they are just sending out offers from other survey websites.

Research Tribe Pros & Cons

Below are some pros and cons of using Research Tribe to make money online.

  • Legitimate Company : Research Tribe is a genuine company and not a scam, ensuring safety for its users
  • Income Opportunity : Provides a way to boost income through surveys
  • Cash Rewards : Offers cash rewards for taking surveys
  • Effort vs Reward : Some reviews suggest that the effort might not be worth the rewards offered.
  • Market Saturation : There are many similar survey companies, making it difficult to discern the uniqueness or advantage of Research Tribe.
  • Limited Earning Potential : The potential to earn significant money might be limited, as with most survey sites.

Is Research Tribe Worth Your Time?

In my opinion, Research Tribe is not worth your time. Most of the surveys pay £0.50 to £5 and take quite a lot of time to complete. Shorter surveys can take up to 15 mins with some of the higher-paying ones taking even longer.

There are much better ways to actually make money online. While making money with surveys may seem like an easy way to make some money they pay so little compared to the time you put in. You also aren’t building any sort of skillset. You are simply sitting there clicking buttons.

I would recommend building an actual online side hustle that earns you money as well as builds a skillset such as graphics design, coding, video editing, SEO etc. At least if you put your time into a side hustle that requires these skills, you learn something new. I have made money with over 10 different methods online. I outlined some of the best in this article.

With Research Tribe they are sending you to multiple different survey websites. Even if you do complete some surveys, the site will usually have a minimum payout which means you can’t withdraw until you hit that amount. Because Research Tribe are sending you to multiple sites it could take you a long time to reach the limits on each site.

If you do plan on doing surveys, you would be better off sticking to a single site so you can meet the withdrawal threshold quicker.

However, I honestly think you would be better off getting a minimum wage job than wasting your time completing surveys on the internet.

How Much Do Research Tribe Surveys Pay?

While there are claims of people earning up to £70 per day, this is extremely unlikely. Most of the surveys that Research Tribe refers to pay around £0.50 to £5 and some of them take a considerable amount of time to complete.

Why Do Survey Companies Pay Money?

Survey companies pay money to individuals for completing online surveys because it incentivizes participation, ensuring a higher response rate. Companies and researchers value the opinions and feedback from a wide range of consumers to understand market trends, gauge product or service reception, and make informed decisions.

Paying for survey responses is a cost-effective method for these companies to obtain valuable consumer insights. Compared to more resource-intensive methods like focus groups or in-depth studies, online surveys are a more accessible and less expensive way of conducting market research. This data is crucial for companies to tailor their products, services, and marketing strategies to better meet the needs and preferences of their target audience

Better Alternatives To Research Tribe

When it comes to survey sites there are some good alternatives out there such as Swagbucks, YouGov and Oh My Dosh.

However, as someone who has made money online for the past 7 years, I would recommend avoiding survey sites altogether. While you can make a few pounds here and there it’s just not worth your time. The payouts are so small, that you’re likely earning less than minimum wage completing them.

As well as that, you aren’t learning any transferable skills. You are just doing mind-numbing work that is paying you less than you are worth. If you want to actually make money online I would recommend checking out these online side hustles that can eventually turn into real businesses.

Final Thoughts

You should now be able to make an informed decision on whether or not Research Tribe is for you. There really is no downsides to signing up but overall I personally wouldn’t waste my time completing these surveys. Even if you do want to complete the surveys, you can go directly to the sites that Research Tribe is promoting.

Research Tribe Review: Is It Possible To Make $70 Per Day?

It’s time to really dig in and expose Research Tribe in this review as a mystery shopper. Some people have been asking if it’s a legit opportunity.

Since there are a lot of these opinion and cash survey sites where you can earn rewards, but not all are created equal. Some won’t pay you at all!

So it’s good to be skeptical . Allow me to expand through this evaluation.

Because what you want to know is:

  • Does this work at all?
  • Can you make money with it?
  • Exactly how much do people make?
  • Why doesn’t everyone just do this instead?
  • Most importantly – are there better opportunities?

Some tough questions, but I’ll try my best to address some of them here.

Research Tribe UK

This is perhaps one of the United Kingdom’s most well known cash rewards and survey websites. People from various countries can log in and become a participant.

Research Tribe is a free serve where members can register to earn rewards after answering basic questions. These rewards can include vouchers, products, gifts, prizes and much more. It’s certainly legitimate, though many people don’t make much money.

In fact, many sites are like that. None of them have promises to make you a millionaire, but they do try to help their members make some additional income each month.

Research Tribe

Some of these sites are scams and shouldn’t be operating. Others are legitimate such as this mob. They pay alright for the time you take to complete the surveys, but not much.

In fact, that’s the biggest problem with these sites. It’s the pay which is really minimal. It’s rarely possible to make $70 per day unless you look at my #1 recommendation for the UK.

My best recommendation has zero to do with taking online questions. It’s where beginners can learn how to make a fresh start, with an opportunity that’s new and exciting.

In fact, there is 100% FREE training on offer right now. This opportunity just opened for people just like you.

The issues with paid survey sites

It really all sounds so easy, you know. Sit online and take those paid surveys. Then money gets deposited into your bank account.

Truth is, it can be really hard. The exact opposite of what you thought.

Because you’ll sit there all day and night answering those frustrating questions.

From where you live, to what you eat and how much you earn. Why is that something they need to know? Some of them even ask the ages of your children.

It’s true. Then there is a big problem, one that not too many other bloggers talk about.

That is: Some survey sites ban the top earning members . Because they don’t want you to earn too much. It’s bad for their business.

They set these sites up for the owners. They don’t want you to profit too much off their advertisers.

Let’s not forget the measly pay. Research Tribe earnings for members are so little. Your salary in a normal week at a job would likely eclipse a month on any paid survey site.

This doesn’t appear to be the case with Research Tribe as the reviews point out. But it’s still tough to really grind those those endless questions that they ask all day long.

So it’s good to leave these to rest. After all, you deserve better. While Research Tribe certainly is legit, they aren’t an effective way to make a decent amount of income.

Being a mystery shopper sounds good, but when you’re making £1 here and £2 there each week, it’s hard. So many people quit to s tart other things, including opening their mind to new possibilities and a fresh start.

That to me is a smarter choice. Where you can build something starting today that you own.

With the right training and community. Partnered with people who support you.

Start with FREE training

On offer right now is free training on how you can build your own online store, without prior experience, to sell products around the world.

Created by my good friend Stephen, he will walk you through the process. Without the technical jargon. Because he was just like you at one stage.

His training is simplified and will show you:

  • Why Amazon is a great online business opportunity
  • How to research products to sell online through Amazon
  • Where to source those products to sell online to shoppers
  • The various ways that you can get started without much capital

Not only that, but his own students have serious results. There are testimonials from around the world, including the United Kingdom. After all, he’s based in Ireland.

research tribe jobs reviews

This in my opinion is the dream business. One that you can start from home on the laptop, without past experience. Take it easy, learn as you go and enjoy the process.

It takes time, like anything, to start the process. Then there’s work, plenty of work. You’ll also need capital. But if you’ve got what it takes, then Stephen’s training is my #1 recommendation for the United Kingdom.

Leaving your opinions online through websites such as Research Tribe sounds great, but it has its challenges. As I pointed out, it can be frustrating. From the low payout figures, to the minimum thresholds and potential limits on your earnings.

In my opinion, there are far better opportunities in 2019 to make a good income online. Where you can decide how much or how little you make, through genuine training. Being a mystery shopper sounds like fun, but you just won’t make enough.

I have looked around just for you and found a solid FREE training webinar available in the United Kingdom. One that has thousands of students already building their own businesses on the inside.

Does it take work? Yep. But it can be more exciting than any rewards or opinions website around. Since you’re looking for something more reliable for the future.

I look forward to seeing you on the inside real soon.

Research Tribe Review 2024 (Why to Stay Away)

' src=

Jen Graudenz

Hi, I'm Jen! I'm a personal finance expert and money coach aiming to help you take control of your money. I went from being broke to a six-figure net worth and am now on track to be financially independent at age 40. Discover Jen's story

This Research Tribe review tells you everything about this rewards site. Is it legit? Is it worth using? Read this review before you waste your time.

I have been making money online since 2019 and have found many great sites. Research Tribe is not one of them. After using the site for a month, I have earned exactly nothing. I received a few offers, but none were worthwhile.

Research Tribe

Research Tribe is legit, but that doesn’t mean it’s great. You won’t earn much using this site. Trust me, it’s better to stay away.

Research Tribe homepage

What Is Research Tribe?

Research Tribe homepage

Research Tribe is an advertising company and market research aggregator. Research Tribe lets you access various money-making opportunities. These are related to market research, including surveys and data collection.

The site started as a mystery shopping company more than ten years ago and was established in its current form in 2018. Research Tribe is based in London, UK.

Is Research Tribe Legit?

Research Tribe is legit and not a scam. Research Tribe belongs to Preach Group Limited, a registered UK company. Its company number is 07546402 .

However, this does not mean all earning opportunities on Research Tribe are legit. To make money, you must sign up to several third-party sites that Research Tribe refers you to. These sites may not be legit; you must do your own research.

How Does Research Tribe Work?

When you sign up to Research Tribe, the site adds you to their email list. When Research Tribe finds an opportunity that fits your demographics, you’ll receive an email.

The email notification contains a link to a third-party site. You can then sign up to that site and complete the task Research Tribe describes in the email. Their emails look as follows:

Email from research tribe

How to Sign up to Research Tribe

Joining Research Tribe is free. You must enter a few personal details on the sign-up form, including:

  • Date of birth

Research Tribe needs these details to find the right opportunities for you. Once signed up, you can only wait until you receive emails with offers. There is nothing to do on the site.

What Offers Are Available on Research Tribe?

With Research Tribe, you can receive different market research offers. Tasks may include:

  • Online surveys
  • Product testing
  • Mystery shopping
  • Scanning receipts
  • Selling your data
  • Other tasks

You have no control over which offers you receive. You can only wait for emails and decide whether to complete an offer. There are no repercussions if you decline an offer. Research Tribe states that the frequency of offers depends on:

  • Your demographics
  • Research Tribe’s clients’ requirements

These are the offers I received within one month of membership with Research Tribe:

AdvertiserTypeTask
OnePollPaid research (age 25+)Filling in surveys
TolunaPaid research (age 16+)Filling in surveys
Nilsen IQSupermarket researchScanning shopping receipts
OpiniumPaid research (age 18-34)Filling in surveys
Ipsos IrisInternet measurement research (age 25-34, women)Having your internet use monitored
Branded SruveysPaid research (age 18+)Filling in surveys
Ipsos InCompassSmartphone research (age 16-34)Having your smartphone use monitored

As you can see from the table, these are all third-party offers. They would require me to sign up with other sites. I could have just signed up with these sites directly rather than waiting for a Research Tribe email. (In fact, I’m already a member of most of these sites.)

Statement from Research Tribe

Research Tribe emailed me in response to this review. Its representative stated that Research Tribe does offer exclusive research opportunities, including mystery shopping. I can’t comment on this since I didn’t receive an invitation to these opportunities during my membership.

How Much Money Can You Earn on Research Tribe?

You cannot earn any money on Research Tribe. Research Tribe does not pay you. Instead, you earn money from signing up to different sites that will then pay you. You’ll end up with money in various online accounts. It’s then up to you to reach the minimum payout thresholds for each site.

The amount you can earn depends on how many offers you get. But to give you an estimate, I think that £20 a month is a realistic target. Research Tribe is really not an efficient way to earn money, though.

What Are the Pros and Cons of Research Tribe?

👍 research tribe review pros.

  • Free to use
  • Receive offers into your email inbox

👎 Research Tribe Review Cons

  • Few opportunities
  • All offers are from third-party sites
  • You have to wait for emails

Why I Do Not Recommend Research Tribe

Personally, I unsubscribed from Research Tribe emails after one month. As you can see from the table, I did not receive many email offers. Plus, all offers came from sites I was already aware of.

Signing up for these sites directly would be much quicker. As you cannot rely on Research Tribe to ensure the third-party sites are legit, you would have to do the same research whether you wait for an email or not.

Research Tribe also only includes advertisers in its emails who pay it (either directly or through commission). This conflict of interest means you may not receive the best offers.

Alternatives to Research Tribe

Rather than using Research Tribe, try the following alternatives:

  • Freecash. Freecash is a GPT site that pays you for various quick tasks. Read more in my Freecash review .
  • InboxPounds. InboxPounds is another GPT site with plenty of opportunities to earn extra cash. Read more in my InboxPounds review .

Research Tribe Review Summary

Research Tribe is an advertisement and market research aggregator. When you sign up to Research Tribe, you receive emails with offers from third-party sites. You can sign up to these sites and earn money.

Overall, Research Tribe is not an efficient way to make money online. You must wait for emails and then sign up to many different sites. It is much easier to sign up directly with these third-party sites. You can start with the best GPT sites .

Research: Flat Hierarchies Can Discourage Women Applicants

  • Reuben Hurst,
  • Saerom (Ronnie) Lee,
  • Justin Frake

research tribe jobs reviews

An experiment with over 8,000 job seekers found that women often worry these organizations will present them with frustrating challenges.

Many firms struggle to attract a diverse talent pool, particularly women. To stand out, companies often tout flatter organizational structures in their recruitment materials, assuming these unique features will appeal to a more diverse group of prospective employees. However, new research uncovers a surprising finding: highlighting a flatter hierarchy may, instead, diminish women’s representation in the applicant pool. Additional findings suggest that women tend to perceive flatter organizations as more difficult to fit into, burdening them with a heavier workload, and offering fewer career advancement opportunities. This research indicates that companies should carefully consider how they present their organizational structure to job seekers to avoid unintentionally discouraging women from applying.

Diversifying the workplace has become a central objective for many employers, with U.S. firms spending nearly $8 billion annually on diversity efforts . While the many benefits of diverse teams have been widely studied, attracting a diverse talent pool has proven challenging for some companies, and many groups, like women, remain severely underrepresented across industries. The push for gender diversity is especially crucial for startups, who risk accruing “ diversity debt ” — the issue of correcting a lack of diversity that becomes increasingly difficult as the firm grows.
