BDS/MBBS Counselling 2023: Atal Medical & Research University Introduces major Changes in Prospectus

Aspiring medical students across India have reason to rejoice as Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU) in Himachal Pradesh has announced its BDS admission counselling schedule for the year 2023. With opportunities available under both State and Management quotas, the university welcomes applications from candidates from any state. This article will provide an overview of the admission process, important dates, and required documents for BDS aspirants.

Expanded Eligibility Criteria: In a significant development, AMRU has made a noteworthy change in the eligibility criteria for Himachali candidates seeking admission to BDS or MBBS courses. Previously, students were required to pass at least two exams from schools situated in Himachal Pradesh to be eligible for Himachali seats. However, the university has now removed this condition, allowing any bonafide Himachali candidate to apply for state quota seats. This change opens up opportunities for more deserving students, regardless of their school affiliation.

Important Dates: The BDS admission counselling process for 2023 includes several key dates that candidates need to be aware of. The application window for the 1st round of admissions is open from July 20th to July 25th, 2023 . The Atal Medical and Research University, Himachal Pradesh, is responsible for organising the state’s counselling process on behalf of the AMRU, Himachal Pradesh. It will conduct HP NEET PG 2023 counselling for admission to 50% of state quota seats. Those shortlisted in the HP NEET PG merit list 2023 will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.

The HP NEET PG counselling 2023 will take place in online mode and consists of various rounds. Here are the steps that will be involved in the HP NEET PG 2023 counselling process:

• First, applicants must visit the official website to register themselves for the counselling process. They also have to pay a fee of INR 1,500 (general) or INR 1,000 (SC/ST) to apply.
• Next, candidates need to fill out their choices of courses and colleges.
• The authorities then publish the HP NEET PG seat allotment list according to the seat matrix and choices filled. Post that, it prepares and releases the final merit list for Himachal Pradesh PG medical admission.

Government Medical College Mandi Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates seeking admission for HP MBBS must be a citizen of India.
• Candidates must possess a minimum of 17 years age as of December 31, 2024.
• For HP NEET 2024 admission, aspirants must be a Himachali bonafide.
• It is not necessary to be a bonafide domicile for aspirants seeking admission to HP NEET through management quota seats.

• It is mandatory for aspirants to qualify for the minimum NEET 2024 percentile.
