Critical Thinking in Hindi – क्या है क्रिटिकल थिंकिंग और इसके फायदे

किसी भी देश और समाज के लिए Critical Thinking का महत्व बहुत ज्यादा है । किसी भी पक्ष के अच्छाइयों और बुराइयों को पूरे आंकलन के साथ उठाना, उसकी बारीकियां समझना तब जाकर कोई फैसला लेना ही क्रिटिकल थिंकिंग की विशेषता है । अक्सर आलोचनात्मक सोच को निंदा से जोड़कर देखा जाता है और माना जाता है कि इसका अर्थ सिर्फ और सिर्फ कमियां निकालना ही है ।

लेकिन ऐसा बिल्कुल भी नहीं है । उदाहरण के तौर पर, भारत में लगभग हर हफ्ते ही कोई न कोई फिल्म रिलीज की जाती है । फिल्म रिलीज करने के तुरंत पश्चात कुछ Film Critics फिल्म को देखते हैं, उसकी बारीकियां समझते हैं, फिल्म समीक्षा के विभिन्न मानकों पर फिल्म को तौलते हैं तब जाकर Ratings & Reviews देते हैं ।

इन रिव्यू में सिर्फ और सिर्फ फिल्म की अच्छाइयां या सिर्फ बुराइयां ही नहीं होती, बल्कि दोनों का मिश्रण होता है । एक सही समीक्षक उन दोनों पहलुओं को सटीकता और पूरे विश्लेषण के साथ उजागर करता है और बस यही है Critical Thinking । यानि जो कुछ भी घटित हो रहा है उसे आंखें बंद करके मान लेना नहीं बल्कि उसके हर तथ्यों की जांच करना, जानकारी जुटाना और फिर उसके बुरे अच्छे दोनों पहलुओं पर ध्यान देना ।

Critical Thinking क्या है ?

Critical Thinking को हिंदी में आलोचनात्मक सोच भी कहते हैं जो किसी भी स्तिथि, विषय या घटनाओं की बारीकियों पर तर्कसंगत रूप से सोचने, तथ्यों का विश्लेषण करने और सही गलत दोनों पहलुओं को उजागर करने की कला है । इसके लिए तठस्थ होना बहुत आवश्यक होता है ।

इसे आसान से उदाहरण की मदद से समझिए । मान लेते हैं कि आप किसी गांव के निवासी हैं और आपके यहां हर 5 वर्ष में प्रधान/सरपंच के चुनाव कराए जाते हैं । इस बार भी एक चुनाव है और चुनाव में खड़ा व्यक्ति आपसे कहता है कि अगर मैं जीतता हूं तो आप सबको हर महीने 3,000 रुपए दिए जायेंगे । यह सुनकर कई लोग ऐसे होंगे जो उसकी बात पर भरोसा भी कर लेंगे ।

लेकिन अगर आप Critical Thinking वाले व्यक्ति हैं तो आप तुरंत अपने गांव की जनसंख्या और दी जा रही राशि का आंकलन करेंगे । आपको समझ आ जायेगा कि इस तरह इस व्यक्ति को 500 परिवार वाले इस गांव में 15,00,000 रुपए खर्च करने होंगे जोकि बिल्कुल भी तर्कसंगत नहीं है । इसके अलावा सरकार भी बिना हिसाब किताब के ग्राम पंचायत के राजस्व विभाग में इतने रुपए नहीं भेज सकती । यानि सामने वाला व्यक्ति झूठ बोल रहा है ।

वर्तमान युग कुछ ऐसा है कि Fake News और Fake People की संख्या बढ़ती ही जा रही है । इस परिस्थिति में आपका तर्कसंगत होकर सोचना जरूरी हो जाता है । अगर आप हर घटना, व्यक्ति, परिस्थिति आदि का बारीकी से अध्ययन और आंकलन करेंगे तभी जाकर सही निर्णय ले सकेंगे । नीचे हमने कुछ Best Critical Thinking Examples दिया है ।

उसने वादा किया है कि उसके जितने पर हर गांव में एक लाइब्रेरी खोली जाएगी, कक्षा 1वीं में प्रथम आने पर छात्र/छात्रा के कॉलेज तक की पढ़ाई का खर्च सरकार उठाएगी और साथ ही हर राज्य के हर सरकारी स्कूल में प्रोजेक्टर की मदद से पढ़ाई की जाएगी । एक छात्र के तौर पर आपको यह वादे लुभावने लगते हैं । लेकिन आप तो ठहरे Critical Thinking वाले व्यक्ति, इसलिए सबसे पहले उस प्रत्याशी के इतिहास और पूर्व संसदीय क्षेत्र पर एक नजर डालते हैं ।

आप सबसे पहले उस पोस्ट पर पुलिस के खिलाफ कड़ी प्रतिक्रिया देते हैं और यहीं नहीं, बिना खबर को वेरिफाई किए मैसेज को अन्य 10 ग्रुप में फॉरवर्ड कर देते हैं । इससे हर तरफ से कड़ी प्रतिक्रिया आने लगती है और एक बड़े प्रदर्शन की योजनाएं बनने लगती हैं । लेकिन उसके अगले ही दिन सुबह आप Twitter या टेलीविजन पर Fact Check के माध्यम से जानते हैं कि यह तस्वीर पाकिस्तान की थी और खबर बिल्कुल निराधार है । इसका खुलासा स्वयं प्रदर्शन कर रहे छात्रों ने किया है कि उन पर कोई लाठीचार्ज नहीं किया गया था ।

Critical Thinking कैसे करें ?

सबसे महत्वपूर्ण सवाल यह आता है कि आखिर Critical Thinking की कैसे जाती है ? क्रिटिकल थिंकिंग करने के लिए आपको किसी पढ़ाई, डिग्री आदि की आवश्यकता नहीं है । आप मात्र कुछ प्रश्नों के माध्यम से हर परिस्थिति को तार्किक ढंग से एनालाइज कर सकते हैं । चलिए सबसे पहले उन प्रश्नों पर नजर डालते हैं इसके बाद हम विस्तार से समझेंगे कि क्रिटिकल थिंकिंग कैसे की जाती है ।

1. क्या: सबसे पहले जब भी आपके पास कोई इनफॉर्मेशन या परिस्थिति आए तो आपको पूछना यह इनफॉर्मेशन क्या है । यह इनफॉर्मेशन किस बारे में है ? यह क्या कुछ जानकारी आपको प्रदान करता है ।

2. कौन: दूसरा प्रश्न आपका होना चाहिए कि इस जानकारी को प्रसारित करने वाला या उस परिस्थिति में सबसे मुख्य व्यक्ति कौन है ? क्या उस पर भरोसा किया जा सकता है ? क्या उसका इतिहास संदेहजनक या विवादास्पद रहा है ?

3. कब: आपको मिली जानकारी कितनी पुरानी है ? क्या इस जानकारी का वर्तमान समय में कोई महत्व रह गया है ?

4. क्यों: यह परिस्थिति/घटना/जानकारी अस्तित्व में क्यों आई ? जानकारी प्रसारित करने वाले व्यक्ति का उद्देश्य क्या था ?

5. कैसे: क्या जो जानकारी प्राप्त हुई है, वह Credible और Authentic सोर्स से है ? जानकारी को कैसे प्रसारित किया गया है ? जानकारी प्रसारित करने के लिए किन साक्ष्यों को उठाया गया है ?

इन प्रश्नों के आधार पर आपको काफी जानकारियां मिल जायेंगी । आपको बस इतना याद रखना है कि किसी भी पूर्वाग्रहों से दूरी बनाकर रखें । उदाहरण के तौर पर अगर आप किसी राजनीतिक पार्टी के किसी कार्य, वादे आदि पर Critical Thinking करना चाहते हैं तो सबसे पहले भूल जाएं कि आप अन्य किस पार्टी को पसंद करते हैं या आपकी आइडियोलॉजी क्या है ।

Critical Thinking का सबसे पहला और महत्वपूर्ण नियम ही यही है कि आपको तठस्थ रहना होगा । आप किसी एक तरफ अगर झुके नहीं होंगे तो ज्यादा बेहतर ढंग से पूरी परिस्थिति को सही नजरिए से देख समझ सकेंगे ।

Critical Thinking Skill को डेवलप करने के लिए आपको कुछ कदम उठाने होंगे । खासकर कि अगर आप एक युवा हैं, एक छात्र हैं तो आपको नीचे बताई गई बातों को अवश्य ध्यान में रखकर ही अपने जीवन के निर्णयों को लेना चाहिए । एक छात्र के लिए क्रिटिकल थिंकिंग का महत्व काफी ज्यादा है क्योंकि आप सभी ही कल के भविष्य हैं ।

1. तठस्थ रहना बेहद जरूरी

क्रिटिकल थिंकिंग का पहला नियम कहता है कि आप किसी भी प्रकार के पूर्वाग्रहों से दूषित न हों । उदाहरण के तौर पर मान लेते हैं कि आप किसी एक चीज में विश्वास रखते हैं लेकिन परिस्थिति ऐसी बनती है कि अन्य चीजों में विश्वास करने वालों से संबंधित कोई परिस्थिति खड़ी हो जाती है । तो ऐसे में आपको अपने विश्वास को कुछ समय के लिए दरकिनार करके सबके नजरिए से सोचने की शुरुआत करनी चाहिए ।

जब तक आप अपने मन में पहले से बनाई गई सोच या अवधारणा से ऊपर नहीं उठेंगे, तबतक आपको पूरी सच्चाई का पता नहीं लग पायेगा । उदाहरण के तौर पर उन्हीं News Anchors या News TV Channels को ज्यादा मान दिया जाता है जो किसी पहलू के दोनों पक्षों को सामने रखते हों । उन लोगों की बातों को ज्यादा तवज्जो दी जाती है जो अपने विचार थोपने के बजाय विपरीत विचारों को सटीकता से दर्शाते हैं ।

2. सही Sources से जानकारी इकट्ठी करें

Critical Thinking का दूसरा महत्वपूर्ण नियम है कि आपका स्रोत सही होना चाहिए । अक्सर ऐसा होता है कि हम ऐसे स्रोतों से जानकारी उठा लेते हैं जो खुद एक तरफा हैं । Polarisation के इस दौर में कई बार ऐसा लगता है कि निष्पक्ष शब्द ही मिथ्या है । इसलिए आप कोशिश करें कि हमेशा Credible और Authentic Sources से जानकारी इकट्ठी करें ।

4. समाधान सोचें

क्रिटिकल थिंकिंग के अंतर्गत अगला पड़ाव आता है समाधान सोचने का । किसी भी समस्या का समाधान भी आपको सोचना है और आपको यह बताना है कि आपके हिसाब से किन कमजोरियों को किस प्रकार से दूर किया जा सकता है । एक Critical Thinker का काम सिर्फ और सिर्फ किसी जानकारी को अलग अलग नजरिए से देखना और दोनों पक्षों को उजागर करना भर नहीं है ।

अगर कोई बुरा पक्ष दिखाई दे तो उसका समाधान भी आपको देना है । एक आलोचनात्मक विचारक के रूप में न सिर्फ आप खुद का बल्कि समाज का भी भला कर रहे होते हैं । किसी भी इनफॉर्मेशन का विश्लेषण करना सिर्फ आपको ही नहीं बल्कि उस जानकारी से जुड़े लोगों को भी फायदा पहुंचाता है । इसलिए अगर समस्या आपको दिखाई दी है तो समाधान भी सुझाइए ।

5. समाधान लागू करें

आखिरी कदम होना चाहिए सोचे हुए समाधान को लागू करने या कराने का । अगर आप निर्णय लेने के पद पर हैं तो आप अपने परिवार, संगठन आदि पर समाधान को लागू कर सकते हैं । अगर आप निर्णय लेने की स्तिथि में नहीं हैं तो कम से कम अपने समाधानों की जानकारी जरूर प्रसारित कर सकते हैं ।

Critical सोच एक vision है जिसमें person किसी विचार की कल्पना करता है और फिर किसी conclusion पर पहुंचने के लिए ज़रूरी कदम उठाने के कार्य के बारे में सोचता है। इसमें research, जांच, मूल्यांकन, अनुमान और implementation शामिल है। आज की सूचना society में कई व्यवसायों के लिए महत्वपूर्ण सोच क्षमता होना महत्वपूर्ण है। महत्वपूर्ण सोच skill की पाँच-चरण Proccess का उपयोग समस्या समाधान की चिंता को समाप्त कर सकता है।

• Problem को पहचानो

महत्वपूर्ण सोच में पहला कदम problems की पहचान करना है। विचार करें कि मसला क्या है और इसे तोड़ दें ताकि यह problems दोबारा न हो सके। अपने आप से पूछें कि क्या यह problem वास्तव में इतनी बड़ी है। यह Determined करें कि यह problem क्यों मौजूद है और इसके Solution के लिए कोई कदम नहीं उठाया गया तो क्या result होंगे। इसके अलावा, यह determined करें कि हल करने की proccess में कौन शामिल होना चाहिए।

• Information इकट्ठा करें

problems के बारे में अधिक से अधिक सीखना महत्वपूर्ण है। reason और समाधानों के लिए देखें, लेकिन केवल Face value पर तथ्यों को स्वीकार न करें। research और सभी संभावनाओं की जांच करे । मुद्दे के बारे में अन्य लोगों की Opinions and views जानने में संकोच न करें। आपके द्वारा सीखी गई information की Validity और Reliability  दोनों निर्धारित करें।

• Evidence का मूल्यांकन करें

अगला कदम उन Evidence या सूचनाओं का मूल्यांकन करना है जिन्हें एकत्र किया गया है। सुनिश्चित करें कि information सटीक है। यह पुष्टि करें कि यह सिर्फ एक source से आया है और प्रत्येक source निष्पक्ष और भरोसेमंद दोनों हैं। निर्धारित करें कि information तथ्य या राय पर आधारित है या नहीं। उन सभी ways की सूची बनाएं, जिनकी Explanation की जा सकती है।

• Solution पर विचार करें

Evidence मूल्यांकन से प्राप्त findings के आधार पर कई समाधानों के Plan बनाएं। इन विकल्पों में से प्रत्येक के advantage and disadvantage को जाने । यह स्पष्ट करना important है कि बाधाएं क्या हो सकती हैं, साथ ही Solution के किसी भी छोटे या Long term results क्या हो सकते हैं।

• चयनित करना और उन्हें लागु करना 

एक विकल्प पर Decision लेने पर विचार करने के लिए तीन factor हैं। पहला solutions के साथ शामिल risk की मात्रा निर्धारित कर रहा है। दूसरा solutions की Practicality है और तीसरा किसी Priority के साथ सहमति है जिसे पूरा करने की requirement है। एक बार जब solution का चयन किया जाता है और action के लिए रखा जाता है, तो योजना implementation के परिणामों की निगरानी करके अनुवर्ती action की आवश्यकता होती है।

There is no single way to think critically. How you engage with information will depend on the type of source you’re using and the information you need.

However, you can engage with sources in a systematic and critical way by asking certain questions when you encounter information. Like the CRAAP test , these questions focus on the currency , relevance , authority , accuracy , and purpose of a source of information.

When encountering information, ask:

• Who is the author? Are they an expert in their field?
• What do they say? Is their argument clear? Can you summarize it?
• When did they say this? Is the source current?
• Where is the information published? Is it an academic article? Is it peer-reviewed ?
• Why did the author publish it? What is their motivation?
• How do they make their argument? Is it backed up by evidence? Does it rely on opinion, speculation, or appeals to emotion ? Do they address alternative arguments?

Critical thinking also involves being aware of your own biases, not only those of others. When you make an argument or draw your own conclusions, you can ask similar questions about your own writing:

• Am I only considering evidence that supports my preconceptions?
• Is my argument expressed clearly and backed up with credible sources?
• Would I be convinced by this argument coming from someone else?

• Know how to find credible sources
• Use relevant sources to inform your research
• Understand what constitutes plagiarism
• Know how to cite your sources correctly

Confirmation bias is the tendency to search, interpret, and recall information in a way that aligns with our pre-existing values, opinions, or beliefs. It refers to the ability to recollect information best when it amplifies what we already believe. Relatedly, we tend to forget information that contradicts our opinions.

Although selective recall is a component of confirmation bias, it should not be confused with recall bias.

On the other hand, recall bias refers to the differences in the ability between study participants to recall past events when self-reporting is used. This difference in accuracy or completeness of recollection is not related to beliefs or opinions. Rather, recall bias relates to other factors, such as the length of the recall period, age, and the characteristics of the disease under investigation.
