Presentation.

Other forms: presentations

The noun presentation means the official giving, or presenting, of something. The presentation of diplomas at a graduation ceremony is the part that makes many of the parents in the audience cry.

A presentation can be a ceremony of giving some gift or award, and it can also be a demonstration or show — like a dog training presentation at your local pet store. Another meaning of presentation is a style of displaying something — like the presentation of plants and flowers in the florist's window or the presentation of food on a buffet table. In the 1600s, presentation was commonly used to mean "show or play," as in "a theatrical presentation ."

It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means: it’s time for another round of Connections !

Today’s NYT Connections hints and answers are coming right up.

How To Play Connections

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play on the NYT website or Games app.

You’re presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by figuring out the links between them. The groups could be things like items you can click, names for research study participants or words preceded by a body part.

There’s only one solution for each puzzle, and you’ll need to be careful when it comes to words that might fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to perhaps help you see links between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult one. The purple group often involves wordplay.

Select four words you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and you’re incorrect, you’ll lose a life. If you’re close to having a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you’re one word away from getting it right, but you’ll still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with the help of some hints, and, if you’re really struggling, today’s Connections answers. As with Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

What Are Today’s Connections Hints?

Scroll slowly! Just after the hints for each of today’s Connections groups, I’ll reveal what the groups are without immediately telling you which words go into them.

Today’s 16 words are...

  • MONKEY BARS
  • TEETER-TOTTER

And the hints for today’s groups are:

  • Yellow group — fun outdoor apparatus
  • Green group — follow a line to find these
  • Blue group — not exactly wet
  • Purple group — for the young ones, perhaps

What Are Today’s Connections Groups?

Need some extra help?

Be warned: we’re starting to get into spoiler territory.

Today’s groups are...

  • Yellow group — playground equipment
  • Green group — found at the end of a string/cord
  • Blue group — described as dry
  • Purple group — baby ____

Best 5% interest savings accounts of 2024, what are today’s connections answers.

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today’s Connections answers.

This is your final warning!

Today’s Connections answers are...

  • Yellow group — playground equipment (MONKEY BARS, SLIDE, SWINGS, TEETER-TOTTER)
  • Green group — found at the end of a string/cord (PENDULUM, TEA BAG, TETHERBALL, YO-YO)
  • Blue group — described as dry (DESERT, HUMOR, MARTINI, TEETOTALER)
  • Purple group — baby ____ (BLUES, BOOMER, STEPS, TEETH)

A third perfect game in a row brings my overall streak up to five.

I got the groups in order today, starting with the yellows. For what it's worth, a TEETER-TOTTER is known as a "seesaw" in my neck of the woods. A much better name. The greens were up next after I made the link between TETHERBALL and YO-YO.

I spent a few minutes mulling over the last two groups, including hitting that shuffle button several times. When I spotted DESERT and HUMOR together, the connection was forged and I got the blues. That left the purples for victory. I did figure out the connection there.

That’s all there is to it for today’s Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check my blog for hints and the solution for Thursday’s game if you need them.

P.S. Baby Steps happens to be the title of one of the games I'm most looking forward to. You'll play as a manbaby who explores the world gingerly once he realizes he has the ability to walk. It looks completely ridiculous and I can't wait for it (the summer 2024 release window mentioned in the trailer didn't stick, unfortunately):

Joy Is Not a Strategy

meaning and synonym of presentation

By Patrick Healy

Deputy Opinion Editor, reporting from Chicago

If the Republican convention’s message for America last month had to fit on a bumper sticker, it would read, “Trump is God.” Delegates deified him relentlessly as the risen Trump after the assassination attempt. They told me over and over that he was spared to save the country with his re-election. Only on the final night did Donald Trump come crashing down to earth with his nomination speech. Divine it was not.

What a mistake. The most divisive man in America was suddenly getting a measure of good will from skeptical voters after he was nearly killed. People were tuning in to see if he’d talk like a changed man. And then he threw it away with the same old rant. All Trump had going for him was President Biden’s weakness.

Flash-forward to this week. If the Democratic convention’s message for America had to fit on a bumper sticker, it would read, “Harris is joy.” The word has gone from being a nice descriptor of Democratic energy to being a rhetorical two-by-four thumped on voters’ heads. Don’t get me wrong — there are many worse things than joy — but I cringed a little in the convention hall Tuesday night when Bill Clinton said Kamala Harris would be “the president of joy.” “Joy” is the new “fetch” from “Mean Girls”: Democrats are bent on making the word happen.

But joy is not a political strategy. And God is not a political strategy. The good news for Democrats is that Harris seems to understand this. Americans want her to lower their household costs and make it easier to find housing. Being our joyful Momala is not going to win the election.
