FAQ: What is the role of a class monitor?

Being a class monitor is no easy task. It requires responsibility, leadership, and a keen eye for detail. In this FAQ-style blog post, we will answer all your burning questions about the role of a class monitor. From the duties they perform to the benefits they enjoy, we’ve got you covered. So, let’s dive right in, shall we?

What is the best resolution for a 27-inch monitor

Size matters, especially when it comes to monitors! For a 27-inch monitor, the ideal resolution would be 2560×1440 pixels, also known as WQHD or 1440p. This resolution ensures a crisp display with vibrant colors, making your visual experience truly immersive. Say goodbye to blurry edges and hello to stunning clarity!

What are the two uses of a monitor

Did you know that a monitor can serve not just one, but two purposes? First and foremost, it serves as a visual display for your computer, showcasing all the digital wonders on its screen. But wait, there’s more! A monitor can also double as a temporary hiding spot for your office snacks. Just make sure to keep it crumb-free for optimal performance!

Can you use a monitor like a computer

Oh, if only it were that simple! As much as we’d love our monitors to transform into fully functioning computers, they, unfortunately, cannot fulfill that wish. A monitor relies on a computer or other compatible devices to display images and videos. However, you can still become the master of your digital universe by connecting a computer to a monitor and expanding your workspace like a boss!

Is a 27-inch 1080p monitor blurry

Blurry, you say? Well, let’s clear things up! At a 27-inch size, a monitor with a 1080p resolution might make the pixels a tad more noticeable, resulting in a slightly less sharp image. However, fear not, for the human eye is forgiving, and unless you’re sitting inches away from the screen, the blurriness shouldn’t be a major concern. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your digital escapades!

Do I want a curved monitor

Ah, the allure of a curved monitor! It’s like having your own private IMAX theater, but without the overpriced snacks. While a curved monitor can provide a more immersive viewing experience, it’s not necessarily a “must-have” for everyone. It all boils down to personal preference. So, if you fancy the idea of being cocooned in cinematic bliss, go ahead and treat yourself to a curved monitor. Movie nights will never be the same again!

What is the meaning of a class monitor

A class monitor is not just a fancy name or a glorified title. It’s a position of responsibility and leadership within a classroom setting. The class monitor is appointed to assist the teacher in maintaining discipline, organizing activities, and being a role model for their fellow classmates. Think of them as the superstar of the class, dedicated to creating a positive and harmonious learning environment.

What is an example of a monitor

If you’re searching for a stellar example of a monitor, look no further than the popular models available in the market. From industry leaders like Dell, HP, and Asus to emerging brands like Acer and LG, the options are aplenty. Each brand offers a range of monitors, varying in size, resolution, and features. Just remember, finding the perfect monitor is like finding your soulmate – you’ll know it when you see it!

What is the other name of a monitor

A monitor by any other name would still display as sweet! If you’re tired of the mundane term “monitor,” you’ll be thrilled to know that it has a more glamorous alter ego – “display.” Yes, that’s right! Monitor and display are often used interchangeably, so feel free to sprinkle your conversations with this delightful synonym and impress your tech-savvy friends .

What are the three types of monitors

Monitors come in all shapes and sizes, just like the cast of a captivating TV show. There are three main types of monitors:

LCD Monitors : LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display, and these monitors use a backlight to display images. They are popular due to their affordability and energy efficiency.

LED Monitors : LED, which stands for Light-Emitting Diode, is the star of the show here. LED monitors offer improved brightness, contrast, and color accuracy compared to LCD monitors.

OLED Monitors : OLED, or Organic Light-Emitting Diode, monitors take the display quality up a notch. With their self-illuminating pixels and stunning black levels, they deliver an unparalleled visual experience. However, be prepared to shell out a pretty penny for this premium option.

How important is a good monitor

Ah, the age-old question! A good monitor is like a trusted sidekick on your digital journey. Whether you’re working, gaming, or binge-watching your favorite shows, a high-quality monitor can make all the difference. It enhances productivity, elevates your entertainment experience, and even takes your social media stalking skills to new heights. So, yes, a good monitor is worth its weight in gold!

Would you like to be the class monitor? Why

Now, that’s a tough one! Being a class monitor comes with its fair share of responsibilities, challenges, and of course, perks. Imagine the power to maintain order, the chance to be a leader, and the opportunity to leave a positive impact on your classmates. However, it also means taking on additional tasks and occasionally being the bearer of bad news. So, the choice is yours. Are you ready to don the mantle of a class monitor and shape the future?

How do I buy a good monitor

Buying a good monitor is no small feat, but fear not, for we have a game plan! Here’s how you can embark on your monitor-hunting expedition:

Determine Your Needs : Consider your intended use for the monitor. Will you be gaming, working, or indulging in media consumption? Having a clear purpose in mind will help you choose the right features.

Size Matters : Size does indeed matter when it comes to monitors. Determine the ideal size for your workspace and personal preferences. Remember, bigger may not always be better, especially if you have limited desk real estate.

Resolution Revelation : Selecting the right resolution is essential for a crisp and clear display. Higher resolutions like 1440p or even 4K offer a visually stunning experience, while 1080p remains the standard for budget-friendly options.

Connectivity Consideration : Ensure that the monitor has the necessary ports and compatibility to connect to your desired devices. HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C are some common interface options to look out for.

Budgetary Browsing : Set a budget and stick to it. Monitors come in various price ranges, so finding one that fits your wallet won’t be an impossible feat. Remember, the cost should align with the features and benefits you seek.

Research and Reviews : Read up on reviews, comparisons, and customer experiences to make an informed decision. Websites and forums dedicated to tech enthusiasts are excellent resources for gathering knowledge.

Make the Purchase : Once you’ve done your due diligence, it’s time to take the plunge. Find a reputable retailer or trusted online marketplace and make the purchase. Congratulations, you’re one step closer to monitor nirvana!

What is the role of a class monitor

Ah, the star of our FAQ show! The role of a class monitor encompasses a multitude of tasks and responsibilities. Here are some key duties they handle:

Maintaining Discipline : The class monitor assists the teacher in ensuring that the class remains focused, orderly, and respectful. They keep an eagle eye on any misbehavior and step in to address issues promptly.

Organizing Activities : From class presentations to group projects, the class monitor takes charge of organizing various activities. They ensure everyone’s participation, coordinate schedules, and facilitate a smooth workflow.

Being a Role Model : As the class monitor, one becomes a shining example for their fellow students. They embody qualities like punctuality, respect, responsibility, and dedication. Others look up to them for guidance and inspiration.

Communication Channel : The class monitor acts as a liaison between the teacher and students, conveying important messages, deadlines, and announcements. They are the go-to person for any class-related information.

Assisting the Teacher : Whether it’s passing out assignments, collecting homework, or managing class materials, the class monitor is the teacher’s right-hand helper. They offer support in various classroom tasks, lightening the load for the teacher.

What is the monitor in simple language

In simple terms, a monitor is the bridge between you and your computer’s digital wonders. It’s like a window to the magical world of technology, showcasing all your favorite movies, games, websites, and social media feeds. Without a monitor, your computer would have nothing to display, leaving you in a sea of darkness. So, in essence, a monitor is your digital sidekick, faithfully bringing your imagination to life, one pixel at a time.

Should I buy a TV or a monitor

Ah, the age-old debate of TV versus monitor! It all comes down to how you plan to use your screen time. If you’re primarily looking to enhance your gaming experience, work on productivity tasks, or use it as a computer display, a high-quality monitor is the way to go. However, if your heart is set on cozy movie nights, binging TV series, or enjoying console gaming on the big screen, a TV might be the better choice. Assess your needs, measure your space, and let your entertainment preferences guide you towards the perfect screen companion.

Is 1080p enough for a 27-inch monitor

Let’s dive into the resolution pool! While 1080p (also known as Full HD) is the standard for many monitors, a 27-inch screen might push its limits a bit. The pixel density on a 27-inch 1080p monitor is slightly lower compared to smaller screens, resulting in less sharp visuals. However, don’t fret just yet! Unless you have a superhuman eye for detail or plan to sit unusually close to the screen, 1080p should still provide a satisfactory viewing experience. So, grab that popcorn, sit back, and indulge in your favorite content!

What is the difference between a monitor and a desktop

Ah, the classic case of monitor versus desktop! Let’s clarify the confusion. A monitor is the visual display unit, the screen, the canvas upon which your digital wonders come to life. On the other hand, a desktop refers to a complete computer system that consists of the processor, memory, storage, and other components. So essentially, the monitor is just one part of the whole desktop package. While a desktop cannot function without a monitor, a monitor could be used with various compatible devices like laptops or gaming consoles, making it a versatile companion for all your digital needs.

What can you do with old computer monitors

Oh, the possibilities are endless when it comes to repurposing old computer monitors! Here are a few creative ideas to give your old friend a new lease on life:

Dual Monitor Delight : If you have another active computer or laptop, connect your old monitor to create a dual-monitor setup. Expand your workspace and skyrocket your productivity like a multitasking wizard!

Digital Photo Frame : Transform your monitor into a mesmerizing digital photo frame. Load up your favorite memories, set it on a slideshow mode, and bask in nostalgia with every glance.

DIY Arcade Cabinet : Channel your inner arcade enthusiast and build your very own retro gaming setup. Mount your old monitor inside a customized arcade cabinet and relive the golden age of gaming.

Pet Playtime : It’s no secret that cats and dogs are social media sensations. Turn your old monitor into an interactive play station for your furry friends. Play YouTube videos of birds chirping or squirrels dancing, and watch the magic unfold!

Abstract Art : Embrace your inner Picasso and turn your monitor into a statement piece of abstract art. Apply colorful paint, abstract designs, or even decoupage to create a stunning visual display for your living space.

Donate or Recycle : If all else fails, don’t let your monitor gather dust in the attic. Donate it to a school, non-profit organization, or recycler. Someone else might find a new purpose for it, or it can be properly disposed of in an eco-friendly manner.

Phew! We’ve covered a lot of ground in this FAQ-style blog post about the role of a class monitor. From the best resolution for a 27-inch monitor to the creative uses for old computer monitors, we hope we’ve satisfied your curiosity. Whether you’re embarking on a monitor-buying journey or contemplating taking on the noble role of a class monitor, we wish you the best of luck. 1 Duties of a Classroom Monitor for Younger Students

Teachers utilize classroom monitors for all sorts of reasons, such as needing an extra set of hands when it comes to helping younger students to the bathroom or keeping them quiet and accounted for during safety drills. Classroom monitors might also take younger students to and from their classroom for electives, such as art, recess, gym or the library, so the teacher can have extra time in her classroom to prepare for the next lesson. Some classroom monitors might find that they have less interaction with the students and are focused more on the everyday tasks that need to be completed, such as making sure the classroom and supplies are tidy, organized and at the ready. A classroom monitor might also help a teacher during special times, such as decorating the classroom according to the theme for the month or the change in seasons. They might even be expected to help prepare for classroom celebrations.

2 Duties of a Classroom Monitor for Older Students

For a teacher with older students, she might need a class monitor to keep watch during testing to ensure students are keeping their eyes on their own paper. The class monitor might then be needed to collect the papers and grade them so the teacher has enough time to enter the student’s grades and adjust her teaching schedule to reteach the material if scores are low.

3 Advantages and Disadvantages of a Classroom Monitor

While many of these duties range in responsibility, they're all very important and require a person who loves to spend time with children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. A class monitor’s position is more labor intensive than a homeroom parent who may only be needed for very specific duties on a limited basis. Class monitors can be paid positions or strictly volunteer roles, all dependent upon the needs and budget of the school. If the position is a paid one, it’s also important to remember that many schools don’t operate on a year-round schedule, and that may impact your salary if you’re not considered a full-time employee.

4 Positive Benefits for Teachers and Classroom Monitors

It’s never too late to become a class monitor. It’s a great way to not only help a teacher and her students but grow a career. From making copies to managing the students if the teacher needs to attend to business outside of the classroom, being an efficient helper is easy when you know what to expect.

8 Things You Can Learn From Your Class Monitor

Being a class monitor is one of the proudest and the toughest tasks in student life. The responsibilities are endless. You are answerable for your own actions and the actions of others. It isn’t easy to check others unless you are always on the right yourself.

Minding a boisterous set of classmates, helping the class teacher collect or carry notebooks, and assisting the substitution teacher in your teacher’s absence are some errands that come along with the much coveted title.

While most of us secretly desire to be selected as a class monitor at least once during the academic session, but on the surface we often ridicule the authority of the person in charge. It may be time to look at your class monitor in favorable light. The individual has been selected for a specific reason. He or she definitely has proved their credibility and obtained the title.

Let’s unfold certain qualities of a class monitor that you can surely imbibe and step up your personality.

1. Personal Grooming

Learn to look your neatest at school from your class monitor!

The class monitor is always neatly turned out. He/ she sports a clean uniform, polished shoes, badge in place, hair well set, and trimmed nails.

Being well groomed is essential in life. No one likes to associate with shabby people. Adopting such habits of personal hygiene will help you cast a fine impression on beholders.

2. Sitting on the First Bench

A monitor always prefers to sit on the first bench. There is a specific reason why all academically conscious students avoid back seats.

The teacher is more audible in front and thereby the understanding of concepts is better. There is ample distraction and chatting towards the back of the class.

Sit in the front seat from tomorrow itself. You will see the difference in a day!

3. Knowing it all

Learn to study better from your class monitor!

The monitor is usually someone with high grades. He/she seems to have an answer for every question put forth by the teacher.

You also need to widen your intellectual horizons and increase your general awareness. Attaining good grades in the examination is important but knowing about the world around is equally crucial.

4. Compassion and Judgment

A monitor displays compassion and understanding towards everyone in all matters. He/she makes no one feel unheard. The monitor endeavors to display impartiality and give correct judgment on disputes and quarrels.

Adopting such personality traits of compassion and imbibing the quality of being unprejudiced in all matters can help you pave way for successful person and professional relationships.

5. Being a leader

It is not easy to be a leader. It’s quite an arduous task as it demands a lot from you. You have to maintain discipline yet keep the whole class unified.

Leadership qualities can be of great value for a student in the latter years of life. Observe and imbibe this trait so that when you grow you are equipped to lead.

6. Management Skills

Flawless management skills are a must for this designation. If you can’t manage the class well, you are not appropriate to wear the badge. The monitor shows capability of controlling the entire class.

This is a life skill everyone needs to imbibe and implement as management is vital at all levels. Failure in managing personal and professional matters translates to an unsuccessful future.

7. Co-Curricular Activities

Learn to excel in all aspects, including co-curricular!

All work and no play make you dull. We all know this phrase well but often forget to work on it. The class monitor usually excels in academics and extracurricular activities. You need to foster such qualities as well.

Impart every aspect of life- be it text books, music, art, or sports; its due importance!

8. Being a Teacher’s Pet

Class monitors are beloved by teachers thanks to their discipline!

Most children hate the class monitor. The person holding this title is often accused of sycophancy and rebuked for being a teacher’s pet. It may be time to alter this outlook.

A facilitator always appreciates a student who excels in academics, is well-behaved and well-disciplined, and is always willing to help and shoulder responsibility. The class monitor sets an example for others to follow.

Observing and absorbing these qualities can help you carve a niche for yourself in every sphere of life. Follow the example so that you may evolve as one yourself in the coming years.

The word ‘Class Monitor’ comes with a certain authority and good will. Endeavor to understand the underlying unique qualities of your class monitor and make them a part of your own personality. Who knows you may be selected next?

Putting Students in Charge of Their Learning

Giving students choices and the means to assess their progress fosters metacognition and independence.

Student talking to a teacher

For many teachers writing lesson plans, including me, two main questions guide the decision-making: “What do I want my students to be able to know and do as a result of this lesson?” and “How can I design an activity in which students can search for the answers for themselves?”

Designing activities that foster learner independence is essential because they invite students to engage more thoughtfully with the content—and that engagement should include students talking about their work. Educators  Douglas Fisher and Nancy Frey  write, “Gone are the days when a quiet classroom was equated with a good one.... It matters who’s talking in class because the amount of talk that students do is correlated with their achievement.”

My most engaging lessons are ones where I introduce a complex idea or problem and then turn it over to my students for further inquiry. These lessons generally consist of concepts that challenge students’ thinking, call into question their preconceived notions, invite controversy, and have multiple pathways. While students are busy searching for answers, I join conversations, ask probing questions, and provide guidance and feedback as they draw their own conclusions.

We can empower our students to be in charge of their own learning by creating interesting, open-ended tasks that target real-world skills, meet our learning objectives, and enable students to make choices and then measure and reflect on their progress.

Making Choices

According to a study by Hanover Research , “Student choice makes students active participants in their educations, thereby increasing levels of engagement. Notably, researchers highlight the fact that such autonomy is generally associated with greater personal well‐being and satisfaction in educational environments as well as in terms of academic performance.”

When I challenged my ninth graders to write editorials about issues they felt passionate about, they very quickly began to share their opinions about a range of issues such as gun safety, discrimination on gay dating sites, increased wages for the military, and how veganism may be the solution to global warming.

I taught strategies for effective argument writing, and they eagerly began to search for sources to prove their points, attempting to convey the magnitude of the issues yet temper their obvious bias, so they could convince readers to change their thinking.

If you listened in on our editorial conferences, you would have heard students asking, “Do you know where I can find _____?” or, “Does this sound too harsh?” or the more difficult question, “How do I acknowledge the opposing position if I really don’t understand their side?”

These are the kinds of conversations I want to be having in my classroom because these are students who are in charge of their own learning.

Measuring Their Own Progress

As British professor  Dylan Wiliam notes, “The amount of feedback we can give our students is limited. In the longer term, the most productive strategy is to develop our students’ ability to give themselves feedback.” We can empower our students to track their own progress by offering them “I can” rubrics ( like this one ) that provide meaningful measures to help them monitor their progress during an activity or project—and we can circulate and confer as they use the rubric to guide their work and ultimately improve their performance.

Teacher feedback offered during this process should be objective and nonjudgmental as the rubric dictates the measures for a successful outcome. Teaching students to self-assess fosters metacognition and independence—valuable skills throughout one’s life.

Engaging in Reflection

I routinely give my students class time to reflect on their learning. In order to illustrate the power of reflection, I offer students this analogy: “Learning doesn’t just happen because we get an A or don’t make the final cut for the track team. We learn when we reflect on why we were or weren’t successful, and how we can make changes going forward to reach a different outcome.”

Jay McTighe offers these questions for self-reflection:

  • What aspect of your work do you think was most effective? Why? How so?
  • What aspect of your work do think was least effective? Why? How so?
  • What specific action(s) would improve your performance based on the feedback you received?
  • What advice would you offer to next year’s students to help their performance on this task?
  • What did you learn from working on this task — about the content, topic, process, and/or yourself?

Student reflections can also serve as a powerful formative assessment tool for the teacher—we can use them to make changes to improve the lesson design for future students.

Putting Students in Charge

When students are in charge of their own learning, they feel a sense of belonging—the classroom becomes a space defined by them. And paradoxically, in providing greater autonomy for students, teachers are more important than ever because only a skilled teacher can set up the scaffolding for this kind of learning experience and thoughtfully guide students through each step of the process.

Like adults, students feel valued and respected when an experience challenges them, reflects their interests, and allows their voices to be heard. And when they are the authors of their own stories, they attend to each moment because they care deeply about the rising action, the falling action, and the resolution—the triumphs and the lessons are their own.

If I Were a Class Monitor Essay in English

If I Were a Class Monitor Essay in English There are 30-35 children in every class and every one of them wishes to lead all the others. Well, this is the confidence not all will bear, but a wish all the students have at some point in their schooling days. I am not different and I also wish to be a class monitor one day. Thinking about being a monitor is one thing, but being is definitely not that easy.

There are not many who are born with leadership skills and the stress you have to deal with at such a young age is not everyone’s cup of tea.  It does not mean that you area topper in the school and you get to be a monitor.

You need to be healthy, strong, and good in your studies as well.  If I were a monitor I have so many good things in my mind that I would do to display my leadership qualities. Well, not all get the chance as teachers have their favorites in schools too and it is a pretty good chance that they will get to be a monitor more than others. You need to be in the good books of your teachers too.

Essay On If I Were a Monitor of My Class

One thing that everyone expects from the class monitor is to keep everyone in discipline when the teacher is not present. This is very challenging because students of your same age don’t like to follow this. Monitors are also sometimes left out because they are the monitor of the class. There are many fun things we have to deal with in school life and this is one of them.

The boys section is the hardest to deal with because they fight with each other and have a plucky attitude which monitors have to deal with. There are many naughty students in the class who indulge in mischief, fights, and pranks.

They are going to most often do this to their friends and class monitor is on the top list. If I were a monitor I would have to keep my eyes always open for this. I would have shown full control over the class and made fun of things so that everyone shows interest in what I am expecting from them.

No matter what my class fellows named me, I would always inform my teachers about the bad behavior of my classmates and boys who trouble others. This is the job of a monitor and I would have completed it with great responsibility.

Class Monitor Duties

There are many things that can happen against the rules and interests of the school and if something like happened I would have directly gone to the principal and reported about everything.  In school, we are there to make friends, to learn things, and to be in discipline so there is nothing wrong with reporting bad things to teachers and principle.

Some students are afraid of this and never report to the teachers and these are the ones who often get bullied in school. If I were a class monitor I would have made sure that every bully gets his/her punishment because at school we are there to learn and not to make fun of others.

I know that we cannot create a disciplined environment by threatening to tell teachers or using force. There are some good ways by which we can maintain discipline. This is one of the biggest qualities of a leader and I would have displayed them all well.

I would have definitely been the best student with ideal monitor skills in the classroom. I would have never disrespected my teachers, fellow classmates and even the peon and other people who work in my school.

I will always show respect to all of them and obey what we are meant to. I should have set an example for all the others. I shall be helpful to all the students and teachers of my school. I would have been always regular and punctual in my class and performed all my duties.

I always had an interest in becoming head boy not because I was good at studies, but I knew I had all the qualities of being a monitor. I would have done so much for my class and my teachers. Monitors’ job is not just to keep the class quiet when the teacher is not present and this is why I liked this job.

I would have helped my classmates who were weak; I would have helped everyone who needed it the most.  There are many students who are shy in the class, they wish to participate in the activities, but because they are too shy they just ignore it. I would have pushed them because being their classmate would ease them.

If I were a class monitor I would have been the best among all the other monitors because I think I have unique capabilities. There is so much that we learn in schools. It is the foundation of what we are going to be in the future.

I would have enjoyed being a monitor and learning as much as I can at that time. I would have taken full advantage of my position to be a better person and also help others.  There is so much experience that being a class monitor I could have gained and applied them in the future.  Being a class monitor I would have been the favorite of all my fellow classmates as well as teachers.

It just gives a student confidence to well in everything and this is why monitors are so special and also get special treatment in the school. I would have enjoyed every moment in my school being I think if I a monitored and gained sweet memories and experiences.

I think if I were the class monitor everyone would have appreciated me and liked me for being well mannered, a leader, and a sweet boy who can handle everything without being unlikely to those who are jealous of class monitors. I would have been the best class monitor of my time.

Being a Good Class Monitor: The Dummy's Guide!

responsibility of the class monitor essay

  • Be Understanding : A class monitor or captain should be understanding about the matters. There should be no one left unheard. A good leader should be able to give correct judgement on disputes and such.
  • Unprejudiced : This is a very important quality. A monitor should be impartial. It should not be the case where the monitors brings special favors for his best friends and does wrong to the other. If one of the friends of the monitor commits a minor breach of school rules, the concerned should be treated with punishment that the other boys would have to face.
  • Being responsible: A monitor should be responsible for his or her actions. Also, any mistake made by the class will mean the monitor to be held responsible. The monitor should be capable of controlling the entire class.
  • Should be well-disciplined : The monitor himself should be well-disciplined. No one likes their leader to be a ill disciplined person. The Good Lord
  • Not complaining frequently : Sure, a monitor does need to report to the teacher about the most students who are stubborn, but that doesn't mean reporting twice quotidian. A monitor should make a "reporting frequency"- like reporting the top three disturbing students each Friday, and such. Also, when minor issues like small quarrels pops up, the monitor should warn, reprimand them and leave them off. However, things like stealing and issues of more seriousness and which breaches the school's conduct regulations should be promptly reported to the teacher.
  • Setting an example for others to follow : One of the most important qualities, in my opinion. A quick example: A monitor should not sit in the back seat of the class and continue chatting with friends; while at the same time, he/she is jotting down names of students talking during the period. Set examples for others to follow.
  • Award well-behaved students: A monitor should award well-behaved students each month. I used this ideology of mine when I was the monitor for the first time. It was a huge success. Everyone appreciated it. The class listened to me, respected me and did whatever I said. It was what the teachers call, "Listen to my instructions, and I will be extremely nice to you". I, on my part, made sure that almost everyone was nominated for the prize. The Prize could be anything- from a 1 rupees Eclairs or well.. nominating the concerned person for a "Positive remark" at the end of the term.

My first experience as the class monitor is this year. The boys of our class is very ill-diciplined.However from this time i will follow all these tips. And help to reach my class at the top.

No worries.. be self confident, that's it :)

I am choosen as the class monitor this year. The boys of our class is very ill diciplined. From now on i will follow all these tip to improve my class.Thanx for the tips.

I am the new monitor of my class. I have some previous experiences of a monitor. The class won't listen to me and they will say I am taking my job to serious. Am I wrong in there? According to me I have each and every right as the monitor to tell them to sit down and be quiet.

Well @Anonymous.. you can't force someone to do something. That hurts their ego. Like, if you were a student and your monitor would ask you to shut up, and dare to speak against him/her, wouldn't that have hurt your precious prestige? That's all. Therefore, approach will calm. See point no. 7, I have explained this. "According to me I have each and every right as the monitor to tell them to sit down and be quiet". Never ever say this sentence to your mates. You are a authority, you know that, everyone knows that. Instead to make them keep quite, say, that if everyone keeps quite I'll make sure you go for a picnic.. and use motivational words instead of forcing students to gulp your order. No one likes to take orders, remember. Have a sympathetic heart, listen to their viewpoint too. Happy monitoring :)

Thanks. It was really helpful. ...

You're welcome.

am also a monitor. yesterday was my first day. i am asst. monitor. no one listen to me. what should i do?

/* Referring to my reply to another anonymous person */ Well @Anonymous.. you can't force someone to do something. That hurts their ego. Like, if you were a student and your monitor would ask you to shut up, and dare to speak against him/her, wouldn't that have hurt your precious prestige? That's all. Therefore, approach will calm. I M A girl n hv been choosen as monitr bt some girls r so undisciplined n loud dt smetyms i feel insultd..many girls say me pagal monitor bt i xtrmly feel bad plz fed a remedy

It's not about keeping the class quite. The trick is, be interactive. Ask them what they like, conduct monthly surveys on what they would like to see in you. Shape yourself according to that opinion. That doesn't mean you do things that you ain't supposed to do. Things will only go fine then. Shouting doesn't bring any result- it hurts one's ego merely. Try to be compassionate. The Magic works only then. Enjoy and have a good day.

i want a long essay on why monitors are important in class can anyone give me

Thx great help

How to appoint a class monitor

In this essay, let us consider various aspects of appointing a class monitor. The teacher and the students should both play a role in appointing a class monitor. A monitor should be a good leader and should be able to handle responsibilities.

I still remember that a monitor was appointed in a class every year during my school life. These monitors, who were known as class leaders managed and controlled students and class activities in the absence of a teacher. Let's discuss various aspects of selecting a class monitor. Who should appoint a monitor? The Teacher or Students? Teachers and students both should play an active role in appointing a monitor. When we were students in primary school, teachers appointed monitors. They usually selected a candidate who stood out in class. But every such student was not capable of monitoring other students. Some students were too aggressive and even rightfully slapped students in class. A monitor should not be selected purely on the basis of the student's opinion. Students would choose a candidate who is lenient and soft-spoken. A monitor should possess true leadership capabilities. A student who is selected as a monitor should be popular among the students. The teacher should initially consider the opinion of the students. Let the students mention on a small piece of paper the name of the student whom they wish to appoint as a monitor. Then, the teacher should collect the pieces of paper and read the names. Then teachers should list the names of students who are most recommended by students. Then the teacher can choose five to six candidates among the names recommended by the students. Then the teacher should consider the following factors when choosing a class monitor- Factors to consider for selecting a class monitor Good Academic performance A student need not be a class-topper but should score well in every subject. If a student is poor in academics, then he or she cannot focus on studies properly after being a class monitor. A class monitor should perform other activities too, such as distributing books to students after correction, monitoring the class in the absence of a teacher, maintaining class cleanliness, etc. A poor performer is easily distracted from studies once engaged in such activities. Leadership traits A class monitor should possess the attributes of a leader. In the absence of a teacher, they should be able to guide students. When the teacher leaves the class for any other work, a leader should control the class effectively, but should not become aggressive towards other students. A monitor should be instructed strictly not to slap other students. Some traits of a good leader- Considerate and communicative A class monitor should always interact with the other students to learn about their problems. He or she should also communicate with the teachers and school authorities. A good leader is able to clarify the doubts of the students in the absence of a teacher. They should also show concern for the problems of the students. If a student falls down and is hurt during playtime, then they should take the student to the nursing room so the caretaker can apply a bandage or Dettol to heal the bruise. A teacher can choose a student who is neither too quiet nor too noisy. Self-awareness is one of the integral characteristics of a leader. A true leader is able to judge himself or herself in every situation and is also a good decision-maker. Prompt and active A leader should be able to easily grasp the commands of the teachers and school authorities and execute them accordingly. Whenever any task is assigned by the teachers, the student should be able to do it confidently and diligently. Confident and independent A good leader is always assertive and willing to accept any challenge fearlessly. They should perform tasks independently without needing assistance from peers or colleagues. Were you appointed as a class monitor in your school days in any grade? You may remember reprimanding the students who were noisy or those who were not following the class rules if you were the class monitor. Maybe you recall that some monitors were so aggressive that they even slapped the other students. Share your experiences in the comments box below.

When I was in high school we used to have class monitors. The class teacher decides and nominates the monitor. Generally, the student who stood first in the previous year's final examination is nominated. In his absence, the second best will be the monitor. The class teacher used to declare these two names in the class. The main duties of these monitors in our school were to collect all homework books and hand over the same to the teacher and once he validates handing over the books back to the students was his/her responsibility. During the changeover period, in the absence of the teacher, the monitor used to see that discipline will be maintained in the class. Some naughty students used to make fun of the monitor but the monitor used to report the same to the class teacher and the teacher used to punish such students. This used to give enough support to the monitor. I don't know whether the same concept is existing these days also in schools.

Essay on “If I were the monitor of my class” Complete Essay for Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation and other classes.

If I were the monitor of my class

Every school boy wishes to be the monitor of his class. But the job of a monitor is not an easy one. Very few boys possess the qualities of a successful monitor. The monitor must be strong and healthy and good at studies. If I were the monitor, I would perform my duties very well.

The main job of monitor is to maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher. Many boys quarrel and make mischief in the teacher. Many boys quarrel and make mischief in the class room. I shall try to control the class. I shall keep the teacher informed about naughty boys. If anything happens against the interests of the school, it will be reported to the Principal, Discipline cannot be maintained only by force. If requires all the qualities of a good student. So I shall try to be an ideal student. An idle and dishonest monitor can never be obeyed and respected. I shall set an example in punctuality and regularity for others to follow. Thus I shall be very helpful to my teacher.

I shall take keen interest in extracurricular activities such as games, debates, scouting etc. I shall organize functions and picnics. All the interests of my fellow students will be safeguarded.

I would be a good sportsman. Tolerance and do operation are the two main qualities of a sportsman. The needy students will always be helped. I shall not be proud, but I shall humbly perform all these duties. I shall look upon it not as an extra burden but a pleasure and honor. I shall discharge my duties honestly and cheerfully.
