The Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology Graduate Program offers graduate training in the breadth of the biological sciences where students focus on problems of biomedical importance from a mechanistic perspective. Our students choose their thesis advisers from seven departments: biological chemistry, biophysics and biophysical chemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and genetics, neuroscience, pharmacology and molecular sciences, and physiology. Biological Chemistry

The Graduate Program in Biological Chemistry (GPBC) is designed to train the next generation of independent research scientists, while simultaneously supporting the professional development and career choices of all our students. Cellular and Molecular Medicine (CMM)

The Graduate Training Program in Cellular and Molecular Medicine prepares scientists for laboratory research at the cellular and molecular level with a direct impact on the understanding, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of human diseases. Coursework covers human physiology, anatomy and histology, cellular and molecular basis of disease and introduction to clinical research. There are 130 mentoring faculty from 28 basic science or clinical departments. A clinical co-mentor directs individualized bench-to-bedside experience. Cellular and Molecular Physiology

The  Cellular & Molecular Physiology  graduate program emphasizes fundamental and translational research on the mechanisms by which an organism maintains processes essential for life. The studies are characterized by integration of molecular, cellular and systems biology approaches and aim to mechanistically understand both normal and disease states. (Ph.D.)

Cross-Disciplinary Program in Biomedical Sciences (XDBio)

The Cross-Disciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences (XDBio) aims to facilitate interdisciplinary research training bridging biology, engineering, computer science, physics, chemistry and medicine. Functional Anatomy and Evolution

The Center for Functional Anatomy and Evolution focuses on the exploration of relationships among functional anatomy, behavior and evolutionary biology of extant and extinct vertebrates. The Master of Science in Anatomy Education program is designed to give students the training they need in order to successfully compete for teaching positions in anatomy at the community college level. Because such positions often also require some instruction in physiology and/or histology, introductory courses in these disciplines are also included in the program, along with training in pedagogical techniques. The program is also appropriate for students who wish to go on to research or educational support positions in anatomy, such as anatomy lab manager or surgical research coordinator.

Clinical Anaplastology

The Master of Science Program in Clinical Anaplastology provides students with knowledge to succeed as clinicians providing facial, ocular, and non-weight bearing somatic (body) prostheses, as well as designing 3D patient-matched models, surgical templates and other 3D printed clinical models. Critical Approaches in Science, Technology, and Medicine (CAST-M)

CAST-M  is a new pathway to encourage doctoral student diversity in the fields of science studies, medical humanities, history of science and technology, and history of medicine. We aim to recruit and support emerging scholars from backgrounds that are traditionally marginalized in STEM-adjacent humanities fields.

The Master of Science program in  Medical Physics  is designed for full-time students who wish to pursue a career as a medical physicist either as a researcher, as a certified clinical professional, or in industry. The  Biomedical Informatics program  provides training in knowledge based systems and medical artificial intelligence in the context of health care delivery.  Students conduct research on: simulation and modeling of complex phenomena; information retrieval, problem solving and cognition; system evaluation, social/organizational factors, and health services research; machine learning, data mining and knowledge discovery; enterprise computing: integrated architectures and clinical and biomedical application of the Internet; organization and representation of multimedia biomedical information.

We live in an exciting era of scientific revolution. The nation has devoted extensive resources to basic biomedical research, and this has led to many fundamental discoveries. Now is the time to cross the barriers between basic science and clinical research to translate new knowledge into enhanced clinical care of the patient and back again to the bench.  Clinical and translational science   is the emerging field that aims at closing the gap between basic science and clinical research. This rigorous and advanced training program is intended primarily for clinicians.

The joint  PhD program in Computational Biology  represents an exciting collaborative program offered by the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. The program's goal is to provide intensive interdisciplinary education to enable outstanding students to become leaders in identifying and solving tomorrow's biological problems using computational and/or mathematical methods and fundamental principles of life and physical sciences.

The  Integrative Systems Biology (ISB) graduate program  provides an exciting, innovative and vigorous academic environment for training highly motivated biomedical students and prepare them for a systems biology research career in academic institutions and industry.

The  Interdisciplinary Program  offers training in Molecular Genetics, Cell Biology, Physiology, Pathology and Pharmacology. This program has a strong track record of training success that begins with an emphasis on laboratory rotations and rigorous introduction to modern cell and molecular biology, followed by students choosing an area of specialization. After the first year of interdisciplinary training and selection of a dissertation mentor, students transfer into a PhD granting program in one of the following areas:

  • Cell Biology & Molecular Physiology 
  • Cellular & Molecular Pathology
  • Molecular Genetics & Developmental Biology
  • Molecular Pharmacology

The  Program in Microbiology and Immunology (PMI)  brings together faculty in basic and translational sciences, including researchers from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Magee-Women’s Research Institute, Rangos Research Center at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Center. The program aims to train highly motivated PhD students as self-reliant scholars in an environment with ready access to the breadth of expertise, approaches, and sub-disciplines that constitute the diverse fields encompassing microbiology and immunology.  

The  Molecular Biophysics and Structural Biology program  is an exciting joint program (offered by  Carnegie Mellon University  and  the University of Pittsburgh ) operates at the fertile interfaces between Biology, Chemistry, Physics and other traditional disciplines. Molecular Biophysics aims to unravel and explain biological phenomena and processes in atomic and molecular detail. Research conducted by faculty of the MBSB program addresses diverse problems of molecular structure and function at the highest levels of resolution that one can observe.

This campus-wide program is overseen through the  Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh  (CNUP). It is designed to develop competence in conducting laboratory research, general knowledge of neuroscience and specific expertise in one or more areas of neuroscience, and general professional competence in oral and written expression necessary for a career in science.

The Oncology Graduate Program provides comprehensive training opportunities for the next generation of cancer researchers. Located at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, one of only 53 National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, students will have access to state-of-the art facilities and train with scientists from the entire spectrum of cutting-edge cancer research and biological basis for care, from the bench to the bedside.

Financial Support

Graduate students enrolled in PhD programs receive a stipend ($40,000), full tuition remission, and individual health insurance (with an option to purchase additional family coverage). The combination of our competitive stipend and Pittsburgh's affordable cost of living allows students to live comfortably. In addition, a $2,000 educational enrichment account is provided to each first-year PhD student for the purchase of books, computers, and other education-related expenses.

MD-PhD programs are dual-degree programs for pre-medical students who want to both practice medicine and conduct extensive research.

In an MD-PhD program, the medical education of the MD program is combined with the in-depth research training of a PhD program. Students learn to practice medicine, diagnosing and treating patients all while gaining research experience to investigate medical conditions and diseases.

These programs are more intense than standard medical school. Students take additional coursework, typically in the biomedical sciences, graduate training, rotations in different laboratories, and intensive research.

The extra education gives students the tools to advance in the medical field after graduation. If you are interested in investigating diseases as you treat patients and developing innovative ways to provide care, an MD-PhD path may be for you!

What are MD-PhD programs?

MD-PhD programs are unique dual-degree programs designed for students who have an interest in both patient care and research. In these programs, students complete both a medical degree (MD) and a doctorate (PhD). This prepares graduates to function as physician-scientists, seamlessly bridging the gap between the laboratory and the clinical setting.

What is the difference between an MD and an MD-PhD? The difference between MD and MD-PhD graduates is that while both degrees are conferred to medical doctors, MD programs focus on clinical practice. MD-PhD programs, on the other hand, combine medical education with extensive biomedical research training. 

Is MD-PhD easier than MD? MD-PhD programs are not easier than MD programs. They require a longer time commitment, but in the end, provide graduates with a broader skill set to pursue careers that integrate medicine and scientific research.

How rare is an MD-PhD? Only about 3% of students that enroll in medical school are in MD-PhD programs. There are 122 MD-PhD programs in the U.S. and 13 in Canada listed on the AAMC MD-PhD Degree Programs by State directory .

Graduate programs aren’t confined to a specific area of study. Each school with this type of program has its own options for its PhD degree. PhD students commonly choose to specialize in topics such as:

  • Cell biology
  • Biochemistry
  • Pharmacology
  • Neuroscience
  • Biomedical engineering

Upon completion of an MD-PhD program, graduates are awarded the dual degree for their proficiency in both clinical practice and research. 

MD-PhD Program Duration

A significant commitment of time is necessary to complete an MD-PhD program, but the career path is rewarding and well-compensated. 

How many years are MD-PhD programs ? Students can expect to spend 7-8 years total between graduate school and med school, but there is no strict timeline for completing an MD-PhD. Some students complete their programs in as little as six years, and others take as long as 10.

Students usually start with the first year to two years of medical school, followed by 3-5 years of research, then finish with another two years of medical training and clinicals. Current students entering into MD-PhD programs are older , on average, than when these programs first began, and many take longer to complete their studies.

How much does an MD-PhD program cost?

Most MD-PhD programs offer enrolled students tuition-free training and a stipend to cover living expenses.

The cost of an MD-PhD program varies widely depending on the institution, but the stipend and tuition-free training makes many of these programs significantly less burdensome financially compared to standalone MD or PhD programs.

Financial support is available through the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Scholarships are offered that cover tuition and provide a stipend for living expenses, making these intensive dual degree programs more attainable.

Not all MD-PhD programs are funded by the MSTP, but some schools offer similar financial support to their MD-PhD students. For any school you plan to apply to, double-check their program website or call an admissions counselor to see if there are options for financial aid. 

MD-PhD Residencies

MD-PhD residencies provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between patient care and research. Graduates often enter residency programs to acquire hands-on training in a particular medical specialty. Some even opt for a fellowship in a subspecialty after that. This training phase can range from 3 -7 years, depending on the specialty.

Although they can enter any medical specialty, they frequently gravitate towards specialties with a strong research component. Here are a few common residencies that MD-PhDs typically enter:

  • Internal Medicine: This field covers a broad range of diseases in adults and often involves solving complex medical problems. It’s a popular choice for MD-PhD graduates because of the diversity of patients and conditions, which provides many opportunities for research.
  • Neurology: The complexity and the largely untapped understanding of the nervous system provide abundant research opportunities. Advances in neuroimaging, AI , and genetics also offer tools for physician-scientists to explore the nervous system in unprecedented ways.
  • Psychiatry: Studying the pathophysiology of mental disorders, exploring new therapeutic interventions, and examining the genetic basis of psychiatric conditions are just a sample of the ways an MD-PhD can continue research in this specialty.
  • Pathology: Pathologists often work behind the scenes in medicine, studying the causes and effects of diseases. This field is deeply rooted in medical research, which makes it a good fit for many MD-PhD graduates.
  • Pediatrics : Pediatric physician-scientists research a wide array of topics, including childhood diseases, growth and development, pediatric therapies, and many other areas related to child health.

The choice of residency program should align with each graduate’s clinical interests, research interests, and career goals. There is great flexibility in the MD-PhD pathway, and physician-scientists span all specialties in medicine.

MD-PhD Career Path & Salary

Careers for MD-PhD’s often sit at the intersection of healthcare, academic medicine, and industry. Roles vary from practicing physicians, medical researchers, educators, and policy advisors to leaders in biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

After completing their residency, MD-PhDs typically divide their professional time between research and clinical practice. They often work in academic medical centers or research institutions where they can see patients and conduct research. Their research may be basic, translational, or clinical, depending on their interests and training.

MD-PhDs may also grow to take on teaching roles, educating the next generation of physicians and scientists. This path can bring them to leadership roles such as department chair, dean of a medical college, or even hospital CEO with their unique understanding of both medicine and research.

The salary for MD-PhDs does vary depending on the chosen career path. Earning potential is generally high due to the advanced and specialized nature of their training.

On average, physician-scientists in the US earn a median salary that is well above the national average for all occupations. According to Doximity’s 2023 Physician’s Compensation Report , the average salary for physicians in the Pharmaceutical/Industry employment setting is highest at $392,534.

Those working in academia or research may have different salary scales. These salaries are frequently dependent on research grants, but still typically fall within a comfortable range.

An MD-PhD opens up a wide range of career options, particularly in the intersecting areas of healthcare and research. Below are careers someone with an MD-PhD might pursue:

  • Academic Physician: They divide their time between seeing patients, conducting research, and teaching students and residents. These professionals usually work at medical schools or teaching hospitals.
  • Biomedical Researcher: MD-PhDs often find employment as researchers in the field of biomedical sciences. They can work in research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, or government organizations such as the NIH.
  • Clinical Investigator: These are physicians who conduct research involving human subjects (clinical trials). They develop and implement studies to understand the effects of new drugs or therapeutic strategies.
  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry Professional : Many MD-PhDs work in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. They may be involved in drug development, clinical trials, regulatory affairs, or medical affairs.
  • Medical Director: In this role, an individual would oversee the medical aspect of a healthcare facility, biotech company, or department in a hospital. This position often requires both a medical and research background.

Medical Science Training Programs

Some MD-PhD programs in the United States are funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) through the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). This means that students receive full tuition remission, health insurance, and a living stipend throughout their training.

Because of this financial support, admission to an MSTP is very competitive. Many schools have financial support available to MD-PhD students even if they are not part of the Medical Scientist Training Program to allow them to focus on their studies and research.

Are MD-PhD programs more competitive than MD programs?

In general, yes, MD-PhD programs are more competitive than MD programs. 

The statistics here can be a little confusing, though. 10% of applicants are accepted to an MD-PhD program, which is higher than the 3% that get accepted into MD programs. Acceptance rates are nearly the same as traditional medical programs, too.

But the quality of application for MD-PhD programs is inherently higher than traditional pre-meds. Your GPA and MCAT need to be higher, with well-developed extracurricular experiences and glowing letters of recommendation to have a chance at an MD-PhD program.

Preparing to Apply to MD-PhD Programs

Applying for an MD-PhD program is done through AMCAS, just like MD programs. Preparation is key in the application process .

Being proactive, getting relevant experiences, understanding the requirements, and applying to multiple programs will significantly enhance your chances of success in securing a spot in an MD-PhD program. Applicants must be prepared to showcase themselves as doctor material and make a case for their desire to take part in research.

Here are a few tips for increasing your chances at acceptance.

Make sure you have the right extracurriculars under your belt.

Gaining relevant experiences beyond the classroom is crucial to showcase your commitment to a career in medical research. Admissions committees are looking for candidates with experience in research projects. 

It is absolutely necessary to have taken part in research to have a chance at getting into an MD-PhD program.

Check application requirements well in advance.

You’ll be required to meet all the AMCAS application requirements of MD programs. This includes the prerequisite coursework, your MCAT score and GPA, letters of evaluation, and personal statement . 

There are also two additional essays that are required on MD-PhD applications, which we’ll cover later.

We advise checking with each specific medical school on the requirements for their applications . Non-medical graduate programs may ask for your GRE scores. You want to make sure you’ve taken this test well in advance of the AMCAS open date.

Apply to several programs.

Because of the limited number of programs and the competitive nature of MD-PhD programs, you should apply to multiple programs. Students who have gotten into these programs report applying to as many as 30 programs for the best chance to be accepted. 

Along with MD-PhD programs, we also recommend applying to some MD programs as well. On your AMCAS application, you can easily designate as an MD candidate or MD-PhD candidate.

Even if you don’t make it into the MD-PhD program of a medical school, you will still have the opportunity to be considered for their MD program.

MD-PhD Application Timeline

Get your medical school application in early — the same goes for MD-PhD applications. In fact, it’s even more important to have your primary application in as soon as possible to give yourself plenty of time to write your secondary essays. 

The MD-PhD application process follows the AMCAS application timeline :

  • May: AMCAS application opens. You’ll receive your secondary application shortly after you submit your primary.

The MD-PhD Essay is your opportunity to express why you have chosen the dual-degree path and how it aligns with your career goals. Discuss your motivation for pursuing the ambitious MD-PhD degree. You should explain why both clinical practice and research are integral to your career vision and share personal experiences that ignite your interest in this path.

Describe your career goals and how integrating clinical practice and scientific research will allow you to achieve those goals. If you’re interested in a particular field, discuss how the blend of clinical and research training in the MD-PhD program will enhance your contributions to this field.

Significant Research Experience Essay

This essay is your chance to elaborate on your research experiences and demonstrate your scientific curiosity, perseverance, and ability to work independently. You’ll explain the objectives of the research project you have been involved in, your role in achieving these objectives, and the significance of the research.

You can also write about instances where you faced challenges and had to use your problem-solving skills, perseverance, and critical thinking to overcome them. Highlight your ability to learn from others, like your mentors, how you can collaborate, and contribute to a team-oriented goal.

If your work led to any significant findings, presentations, or publications, be sure to include this. Use this opportunity to communicate your passion for research and how these experiences have prepared you for a career that combines patient care and scientific investigation.

The Purdue College of Engineering includes three degree programs: Biomedical Engineering PhD, Combined Clinical MD/PhD BME Physician-Engineer Training Program, and the MS BME program for medical students.

Biomedical Engineering PhD

The PhD options in biomedical engineering are highly interdisciplinary in nature involving faculty at Purdue's Colleges of Engineering, Science and Veterinary Medicine on the West Lafayette campus. Doctoral program students work towards translating discoveries into effective medical products. These programs span modern biomedical engineering and build on a deep history of research that has had significant industrial and clinical impact.

MD/PHD BME Physician-Engineer Training Program (MSTP)

The field-defining collaborative Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) was initiated in 2008 to educate the next generation of physician-engineers through integrated MD and PhD training. It continues to garner recurring National Institutes of Health funding and significant accolades. The program sets the trends in academic medicine and industry as to how advanced technologies and approaches can optimally improve patient care and clinical outcomes. It is for students committed to a career that intimately integrates engineering design and translational research with clinical care.

There have been more than three dozen graduates of this hallmark program. These graduates are intimately involved in a burgeoning number of clinical trials at Indiana University Health to evaluate the latest advances in both hospital and clinic settings.

MS BME Program for Medical Students

A research-based master's degree program was established in 2018 in the Purdue College of Engineering for Indiana University School of Medicine medical students seeking to earn both MD and MS BME degrees. The seamless integration of the timelines for the two degrees allows these students to complete both degrees in five years.

The MS BME program for medical students leverages the students' clinical training and medical school coursework to advance innovative engineering solutions for challenges in healthcare delivery. Significant areas for translational research projects include implantable medical devices, engineered tissues and biomaterials, point-of-care diagnostics, advanced medical imaging, and systems engineering of healthcare delivery.

Students earning this degree gain firsthand knowledge of medical technology innovation and strategies for clinical translation. They will strengthen their ability to pursue medical research, to facilitate clinical testing of new therapies, and to collaborate effectively with the biomedical industry.

Auditory Neurosciences Training Group

Launched in 2018, the Auditory Neurosciences Training Group (ANTG) offers a training program at the intersection of auditory neuroscience and innovation technologies, such as neuroimaging, stimulation devices, electrophysiology and mathematical modeling. Medical Illustration

Medical Illustration is a unique field that requires a talent for the graphic arts and visual storytelling and an affinity for science.

Medical illustrators use various media and techniques - from watercolor to silicone to 2D artwork to 3D animation - to solve complex communication and education problems in life and health sciences.

Our program strives to refine students' expertise in various illustration, design, and animation media. We provide a scientific foundation to prepare illustrations in a medical setting, teach students to solve visual problems, establish and meet educational and communication objectives, and offer meaningful, practical experience in medical illustration.

Department of Medical Illustration

Augusta University is one of only four schools in the country to offer a Medical Illustration Graduate Program (MIGP). 

Established over 70 years ago by the Medical College of Georgia, the Department of Medical Illustration is now part of the College of Allied Health Sciences at Augusta University.

Students in the Medical Illustration Graduate Program will complete a 21-month curriculum and graduate with a Master of Science in Medical Illustration (MSMI) degree granted through The Graduate School . Our program is highly competitive; 40 to 50 individuals submit preliminary portfolios and materials for evaluation each year. However, we only accept a limited number into our program. Applicants have come from Asia, Canada, Europe, South America, and nearly every state in the U.S.

Accreditation

The Medical Illustration Graduate Program is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) . For more than 50 years, Augusta University’s program has met or exceeded the high graduate education standards in medical illustration and biomedical communications. The program was the first to be granted accreditation in 1967 and has maintained continuous accreditation. It was last renewed in 2018 for eight years and will be up for renewal in 2026.

Certification

While you do not need to be licensed to be a medical illustrator, many professionals go on to become Certified Medical Illustrators (CMI) after graduation. CMI status assures employers and clients that a medical illustrator meets or exceeds the basic competency standards for the profession. Our students usually take the BCMI exam right after graduation. They routinely score in the top 5% of all those attempting the exam.

BCMI Exam, Part I : The Board of Certification for the Medical Illustrator administers a two-part examination for professional competency. Part 1 is a written examination comprised of sections on anatomy, business practices, and artists' rights. Students from accredited graduate programs in medical illustration are eligible to take the exam upon graduation. Augusta University's recent outcomes were:

  • 2019 - 8 of 9 students took the exam, and all eight passed on the first attempt
  • 2020 - 7 of 9 students took the exam, and all seven passed on the first attempt
  • 2021- 8 of 9 students took the exam seven passed on the first attempt

Learner Outcomes

As an ongoing means of assessing the teaching effectiveness of our program and the learning success of our students/graduates, we track several outcome measures, including the following.

Comprehensive Examination

Administered in the 4th semester (fall of the second year), students are challenged with three illustration problems. The students must complete these illustrations within the specified period without any input from the faculty. The students' illustrations are then scored by a panel of highly respected professional medical illustrators from across the U.S. Recent outcomes were:

  • 2019 - 9 of 9 students took the exam. Five passed on the first attempt, and four passed on the second attempt.
  • 2020 - 9 of 9 students took the exam. Four passed on the first attempt, and five passed on the second attempt.
  • 2021 - 9 of 9 students took the exam, six passed on the first attempt, and three passed on the second attempt.

On-Time Completion of Masters Project/Thesis

Completing an approved Masters Project/Thesis is a requirement for graduation. Students are expected to complete their project or thesis in the 5th semester (spring of the second year). The project/ thesis is evaluated by the program faculty for content, effectiveness, and completeness. Recent outcomes were:

  • 2019 – 9 of 9 students completed their Masters Project on time and met or exceeded expectations. All nine students graduated in 2019.
  • 2020 - 8 of 9 students completed their Masters Project on time and met or exceeded expectations; one completed their Masters Project the following semester. All 9 students graduated in 2020.
  • 2021 - 9 of 9 students completed their Masters Project on time and met or exceeded expectations. All 9 students graduated in 2021.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual passionate about cutting-edge technology to explore single cell multiplex spatial proteomics. This role involves working with the latest generation PhenoCycler Fusion instrument and collaborating with translational immunologists, cancer biologists, and other researchers to advance our understanding of cellular processes in complex tissues and their application to drug development. This role offers exciting opportunities for career development, enhancing leadership skills and influencing collaborative efforts within various disease areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and utilize the PhenoCycler Fusion (formerly CODEX).
  • Build and optimize antibody panels.
  • Conjugate and perform quality control of reagents.
  • Consult with users on potential projects, including sample accessibility and experimental design.
  • Optimize procedures, design panels, and provide data analysis consultation.
  • Conduct multiplex imaging experiments.
  • Perform basic data quality evaluation.
  • Analyze data using licensed software.
  • Maintain records of procedures and resultant data, both manually and on the computer.

  • Possess deep knowledge and expertise in immunology, biology, and multi-omics applications in translational research across various disease areas such as oncology (ONC), immuno-oncology (IO), immunity-driven diseases, and related treatment strategies.
  • Understanding sample preparation, instrument optimization, and data analysis.
  • Interest in bioinformatics and experience with software.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot critical issues.

Admission Process 

Students seeking admission at PSMU must go through the following admission procedure: 

Step 1: Fill out the university’s admission form, which is usually available on the university’s official website. 

Step 2: Submit all the required documents with the admission form 

Step 3: Wait for the invitation letter from the university 

Step 4: After receiving the invitation letter from the university, the student must contact the Russian Embassy of his/her country of residence for a visa application 

Step 5: Make all the payments including the complete tuition fees for the first year, cost of accommodation, and other charges 

Step 6: Travel to Russia and you are all ready to join the university 

Eligibility Criteria 

In order to get admitted to the Perm State Medical University, students must meet the following criteria: 

A student must have scored a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in Class 12. 

A student should have completed 17 years of age as on or before 31 December in the admission year 

Note : Indian applicants are mandated to successfully clear the NEET exam, attaining a minimum percentile of 50th for the general/EWS category and 40th for the unreserved category. Additionally, international students are required to excel in the university's entrance examination to secure admission at Perm State Medical University.

Perm State Medical University was established on September 22, 1916 in the Perm city of Russia. Perm State Medical University is one of oldest and biggest universities of Russia. The university was started as a medical faculty of Perm State University in the year 1916. During the initial years after establishment, this faculty was a part of physics and mathematics faculty and then in 1917, it became an independent department of the medical faculty.
