RTMNU issues new PhD registration guidelines

The Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has issued new PhD registration requirements. According to the revised criteria, the PhD registration process will be finished. The institution has sent out a notification in this regard.

Students have been advised to refer to the revised guide lines 27 of 2021 before submitting their synopsis for the pre-registration RRC in order to avoid any problems, according to the announcement. The deadline for submitting the research draught has been set for December 10. Students must submit six copies of their manuscript by this date.

It is worth mentioning that earlier direction number 11 of 2021 was implemented for MPhil/PhD registration in the university. The guidelines had many flaws.

This newspaper had in September published a report highlighting the issue.

It was also revealed that injustice was done to the students in changing the guidelines number 23 of 2018 for the year 2018.

On the very second day of the publication of the news, the university had decided to withdraw guidelines no. 11 of 2021 in the meeting of the manage ment council. It was announced to prepare a new revised guidelines.

RTMNU PhD admission 2024 will be based on UGC NET, CSIR NET.

To be eligible for a Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), candidates must fulfill certain criteria. Firstly, they should have a Master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (50% for reserved categories). Additionally, candidates must have qualified in a national level entrance examination such as NET/JRF/GATE/SLET or have obtained an M.Phil. degree. They should also possess a valid research proposal and statement of purpose, showcasing their research interests and objectives. Furthermore, candidates may be required to appear for a personal interview or written test as part of the selection process.

Course work compulsory for PhD at RTMNU

Nagpur News: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) researchers will now have to work more before summation of their thesis. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has made six months of course work necessary, in a new rule. Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj (RTM) Nagpur University has established a committee to decide how course work can be implemented in the University.

According to a source, “This step was taken due to a new UGC rule, in an effort to improve the quality of research at Nagpur University. When a researcher initially registers for PhD, they don’t have proper knowledge of research. During the course work, over six months, the researcher will be able to understand the exact meaning and process of research methodology. Computer education, a basic knowledge of research methodology, the required depth of research, important aspects of research etc will be explained to the researcher during the course work.”

Dr. Maheshkumar Yenkie, Registrar, Nagpur University, said, “A committee has been formed to look into the implementation of course work. A final decision about implementation will be taken as soon as possible.”

RTMNU releases schedule of PhD course work

The Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has released the notification for course work of PhD. The first PhD course work would be run from April 24 to May 2 for which the last date of application is April 15. It is mandatory for the students willing to do PhD to submit the course work certificate, unless which they cannot proceed. The duration of the course work would be 10 days. The second course work will be held from May 6 to 16.

RTMNU college has two campuses; the vintage campus near Maharajbagh zoo, established in 1923, serves as the administrative block, and the new campus near Futala Lake is much larger and houses the departments. Fees & Scholarships : Course fee for BE at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University is INR 1,25,000 is the course fee per annum. Government scholarships like fee concession to OBC, SC NT, EBC are available. All students who are eligible get scholarships.

Academics & Faculty : Timings are according to the convenience of teachers and student. Quality is not so Great. Experience is nice. but, not great.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are 2 hostels on campus. one for girls and another for boys. The hostel fee is INR 90,000 per year. No PG's are available near to college. Food is not very great.

Academics & Faculty : The attendance is compulsory, we get projects, exams and assignments. The teaching method and quality is not up to the marks. Overall experience is not good.
