Andrew ( Dane DeHaan) is a shy and unpopular high school student with a dying mother and a mean-tempered drunk for a father. Chronicle is a brave movie. It's not afraid of taking the road less travelled. There were a couple of moments when I genuinely admired the creators for trying something different that could have backfired. It never did. Lastly, and surprisingly, this movie is not about good and evil. It's about power and powerlessness.

Chronicle (2012) is pretty fantastic. Recommendation. So I just saw this movie for the first time around 2 hours ago, and I'm a bit blown away. I was not expecting it to be that good. I was in the mood for another sci-fi film after being a bit disappointed by Attack the Block, and I remembered being interested in something called "Chronicle."

The fact that Chronicle manages to sell the transition so well is what makes the movie work. The final 20 minutes or so are an incredible example of how powers should be portrayed in most films.
