write a narrative essay my last birthday

Here is your short paragraph on my last birthday:

My last birthday was the most memorable birthday till date. It was 18 th August 2013, when I was going to be 19 years old.

That was a very special day as it was my birthday. I woke up early at 6:30 am because my family sang a special song for me & they gave me some gifts. Also I was hugged by all of them.

We do it for every member of our house. Then my cousins Sheena & Arun arrived to my house to surprise me. Their presence made my day more special because it was my first birthday when my cousins managed to come and wish me early in the morning. They gifted me a big box full of chocolates & CD of my favourite singer.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

All of us had breakfast together. Mom made my favourite breakfast called “upma” because it was my birthday. Dad bought a big cake for me. I cut the cake. Then I started receiving calls from relatives and friends. They made me realize that now I am a big girl.

I am 18 years old now. I can drive, vote etc. It made my day more exciting. Suddenly I realized that Henna my best friend forgot to wish me on my birthday. It made me sad. But I decided not to remind her let’s see when she calls up.

At 6 pm I was out with my family to celebrate the occasion. I received a message on my mobile. That was Heena. Finally she wished me and told me that she has a surprise for me on my birthday. I told her that I thought that she has forgotten to wish me on my birthday. She said that she knew it was my birthday but she was busy planning the surprise. Henna wanted me to come to her house. She told me that she is going to pick me up at 8:30 pm. I asked my parents. They said ok. Henna came after 1 and ½ hour to pick me up in a beautiful car. When I reached her house she opened the door. As soon as we entered all my friends were inside with many ballons, flowers.

They all shouted loud in a chorus- “Happy Birthday Vere”. All hugged me one by one and gave me gifts and roses. Then all of them sang my favorite song. I cut the cake which they bought. We danced, had food that Heena arranged for all of us and enjoyed a lot. I can never forget that birthday because it was the best birthday of my life and my friends and family made me realized that I am a big girl of 18 now.

Narrative Essay | MY LAST BIRTHDAY

My last birthday.

Birthdays have always held a special place in my heart. They are a time of celebration, reflection, and gratitude. Each year, I eagerly anticipate the arrival of my birthday, eagerly awaiting the joyous occasion surrounded by loved ones. However, my last birthday was unlike any other I had experienced before.

It was a sunny day in late spring when my last birthday arrived. As I woke up, a sense of excitement and anticipation filled the air. I could already feel the warmth of the day and the love that would surround me. Turning eighteen was a milestone, and I knew this birthday would be particularly significant.

The day began with a flurry of activity. My family and friends busied themselves in the kitchen, preparing a delectable feast for the evening celebration. The aroma of freshly baked cakes and savory dishes filled the air, making my stomach grumble with anticipation.

As the afternoon approached, I took some time for myself to reflect on the past year and the journey that had brought me to this point. Eighteen years had flown by so quickly, and I couldn’t help but marvel at how much I had grown and learned during that time. I thought about the challenges I had faced, the friendships I had made, and the dreams I still held close to my heart.

The sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the world. The time had come for the birthday celebration to commence. I stepped into the living room, adorned with colorful decorations and surrounded by the smiling faces of my loved ones. Their presence alone filled me with a profound sense of happiness and gratitude.

As the evening unfolded, laughter and joy filled the air. My friends and family showered me with heartfelt wishes, presents, and kind words. It was a reminder of the love and support that surrounded me every day. We shared stories, sang songs, and indulged in the delicious feast that had been prepared with so much love.

As the night grew darker, my heart swelled with emotions. It was a bittersweet feeling, knowing that this chapter of my life was coming to an end. Adulthood beckoned, with its uncertainties and responsibilities. But in that moment, surrounded by the people who cared about me most, I felt an overwhelming sense of comfort and strength.

As the clock struck midnight, marking the end of my birthday, I looked around at the faces of my loved ones. It was a moment frozen in time, etched forever in my memory. I realized that birthdays were not just about growing older; they were about cherishing the connections we have, the memories we create, and the love we share.

My last birthday was a testament to the beauty of life and the power of human connections. It was a reminder to appreciate each passing year, for they hold within them the experiences that shape us into who we are. I felt a renewed sense of purpose and determination, ready to face the challenges and embrace the joys that awaited me in the years to come.

Birthdays will continue to hold a special place in my heart, but my last birthday will forever stand out as a milestone in my journey. It was a day of love, laughter, and growth —an unforgettable celebration of life itself.

2nd Narrative Essay (My last birthday)

Birthday is the day in each year which is the same date as the one in which you were born. My last birthday was on 23 rd June 2015. It was a memorable day I will not forget.

My parent in their own strength celebrated it in a very big way. My friends, family, and relations were invited. In preparation, foods and assorted drinks with cake were made available.

At exactly 2:00 pm, the ceremony commenced, I looked so pretty in my beautiful attire. A friend came around to congratulate me. The MC and DJ work hand in hand as the MC introduced different activities at the party e.g. going around the table, hide and seek game, who will be the first? And so on.

The item seven (7) soon followed and everyone eats to their satisfaction. Almost everyone in attendance present their gifts happily. I was so happy just as my parents were. Essay on Last Birthday Celebration in 1000-1500 Words

Birthdays are special occasions that mark another year of life, growth, and experiences. It is a time to celebrate with loved ones, reflect on the past year, and look forward to the future. Last year, I had the privilege of celebrating my birthday in a memorable and meaningful way.

The day started off with a sense of excitement and anticipation. I woke up to the sound of my family singing “Happy Birthday” and the smell of freshly baked pancakes wafting through the air. As I made my way downstairs, I was greeted with hugs, kisses, and presents from my parents and siblings. It was a heartwarming start to the day and set the tone for the celebrations to come.

After a delicious breakfast, my family and I headed out to a nearby park for a picnic. The weather was perfect – sunny with a gentle breeze – and the park was alive with the sounds of children playing, birds chirping, and the rustling of leaves in the wind. We found a cozy spot under a shady tree and laid out a spread of sandwiches, salads, fruits, and snacks. We laughed, talked, and enjoyed each other’s company as we shared a meal together.

As the afternoon wore on, we decided to explore the park and take a leisurely stroll around the lake. The scenery was breathtaking – the water shimmered in the sunlight, the trees swayed gently in the breeze, and the flowers bloomed in vibrant colors. It was a peaceful and serene moment that allowed me to appreciate the beauty of nature and the simple joys of life.

After our walk, we returned to our picnic spot and indulged in a birthday cake that my mom had baked for me. It was a delicious chocolate cake with creamy frosting and sprinkles on top. As I blew out the candles and made a wish, I felt grateful for the love and support of my family, and for another year of life and blessings.

The celebrations continued into the evening as we gathered at a local restaurant for dinner. The restaurant was cozy and intimate, with dim lighting, soft music, and a warm ambiance. We ordered a variety of dishes to share – from appetizers to main courses to desserts – and savored each bite as we chatted and laughed together.

As the night drew to a close, my family surprised me with a special gift – a scrapbook filled with photos, memories, and messages from loved ones. It was a thoughtful and heartfelt gesture that brought tears to my eyes and filled my heart with joy. I flipped through the pages, reliving moments from the past year and feeling grateful for the people who had touched my life in meaningful ways.

As I reflected on my birthday celebration, I realized that it was not just a day of fun and festivities, but a day of love, gratitude, and connection. It was a reminder of the importance of cherishing moments with loved ones, of being present in the here and now, and of appreciating the blessings that surround us every day.

In conclusion, my last birthday celebration was a day to remember – filled with laughter, love, and memories that will stay with me for years to come. It was a reminder of the beauty of life, the power of relationships, and the joy of simple pleasures. As I look ahead to the future, I am grateful for the experiences that have shaped me, the people who have supported me, and the moments that have made me who I am today. Birthdays may come and go, but the memories we create and the love we share will last a lifetime.

When assigned a narrative essay, you might find yourself wondering: Why does my teacher want to hear this story? Topics for narrative essays can range from the important to the trivial. Usually the point is not so much the story itself, but the way you tell it.

A narrative essay is a way of testing your ability to tell a story in a clear and interesting way. You’re expected to think about where your story begins and ends, and how to convey it with eye-catching language and a satisfying pace.

These skills are quite different from those needed for formal academic writing. For instance, in a narrative essay the use of the first person (“I”) is encouraged, as is the use of figurative language, dialogue, and suspense.

Prevent plagiarism. Run a free check.

Narrative essay assignments vary widely in the amount of direction you’re given about your topic. You may be assigned quite a specific topic or choice of topics to work with.

  • Write a story about your first day of school.
  • Write a story about your favorite holiday destination.

You may also be given prompts that leave you a much wider choice of topic.

  • Write about an experience where you learned something about yourself.
  • Write about an achievement you are proud of. What did you accomplish, and how?

In these cases, you might have to think harder to decide what story you want to tell. The best kind of story for a narrative essay is one you can use to talk about a particular theme or lesson, or that takes a surprising turn somewhere along the way.

For example, a trip where everything went according to plan makes for a less interesting story than one where something unexpected happened that you then had to respond to. Choose an experience that might surprise the reader or teach them something.

Narrative essays in college applications

When applying for college , you might be asked to write a narrative essay that expresses something about your personal qualities.

For example, this application prompt from Common App requires you to respond with a narrative essay.

In this context, choose a story that is not only interesting but also expresses the qualities the prompt is looking for—here, resilience and the ability to learn from failure—and frame the story in a way that emphasizes these qualities.

An example of a short narrative essay, responding to the prompt “Write about an experience where you learned something about yourself,” is shown below.

Hover over different parts of the text to see how the structure works.

Since elementary school, I have always favored subjects like science and math over the humanities. My instinct was always to think of these subjects as more solid and serious than classes like English. If there was no right answer, I thought, why bother? But recently I had an experience that taught me my academic interests are more flexible than I had thought: I took my first philosophy class.

Before I entered the classroom, I was skeptical. I waited outside with the other students and wondered what exactly philosophy would involve—I really had no idea. I imagined something pretty abstract: long, stilted conversations pondering the meaning of life. But what I got was something quite different.

A young man in jeans, Mr. Jones—“but you can call me Rob”—was far from the white-haired, buttoned-up old man I had half-expected. And rather than pulling us into pedantic arguments about obscure philosophical points, Rob engaged us on our level. To talk free will, we looked at our own choices. To talk ethics, we looked at dilemmas we had faced ourselves. By the end of class, I’d discovered that questions with no right answer can turn out to be the most interesting ones.

The experience has taught me to look at things a little more “philosophically”—and not just because it was a philosophy class! I learned that if I let go of my preconceptions, I can actually get a lot out of subjects I was previously dismissive of. The class taught me—in more ways than one—to look at things with an open mind.

write a narrative essay my last birthday

If you’re not given much guidance on what your narrative essay should be about, consider the context and scope of the assignment. What kind of story is relevant, interesting, and possible to tell within the word count?

The best kind of story for a narrative essay is one you can use to reflect on a particular theme or lesson, or that takes a surprising turn somewhere along the way.

Don’t worry too much if your topic seems unoriginal. The point of a narrative essay is how you tell the story and the point you make with it, not the subject of the story itself.

Narrative essays are usually assigned as writing exercises at high school or in university composition classes. They may also form part of a university application.

When you are prompted to tell a story about your own life or experiences, a narrative essay is usually the right response.

The key difference is that a narrative essay is designed to tell a complete story, while a descriptive essay is meant to convey an intense description of a particular place, object, or concept.

Narrative and descriptive essays both allow you to write more personally and creatively than other kinds of essays , and similar writing skills can apply to both.

How to Write a Narrative Essay Step by Step

write a narrative essay my last birthday

Narrative essays combine personal storytelling with academic reflection. Unlike other essay types, they are not bound by strict requirements or the need for a bibliography. To write a narrative essay successfully, you’ll need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Pick a personal experience to share.

Step 2: Organize your story's main points.

Step 3: Start narrating your story with vivid details.

Step 4: Improve the flow and clarity.

Step 5: Check for grammar and spelling errors.

A narrative is a story told verbally or in writing. The story's purpose is shown through its events and details. In the following sections, our custom term paper writing will explore various aspects of this type of writing, from choosing a topic to structuring your essay effectively.

What Is a Narrative Essay

Narrative essay , as the name suggests, is characterized by the presence of a narrative. Unlike argumentative essays, which present and defend a position, or analytical essays, which dissect another text, narrative essays tell a coherent story. Their goal is to convey a point or impart a lesson through personal experiences. These essays are frequently assigned in high school and for college admissions.

Where to Use Narrative Essays

A narrative essay serves the purpose of sharing personal experiences and insights. It helps the writer connect with readers on an emotional level and illustrate a point through storytelling. Here are a few occasions where writing a narrative essay is commonly used:

  • College Applications : To showcase personal growth and experiences, giving admission officers a glimpse into the applicant's character and background.
  • Class Assignments : To develop writing skills and reflect on personal events, helping students learn how to express their thoughts and emotions effectively.
  • Personal Blogs : To share life stories and engage with readers, building a personal connection and fostering a sense of community.
  • Scholarship Essays : To highlight personal achievements and challenges, demonstrating resilience and dedication to potential sponsors.

Professional Development : To reflect on career experiences and lessons learned, providing insights that can be valuable for personal growth and future endeavors.

5 Steps to Writing a Narrative Essay

Writing a narrative essay can be a rewarding experience as it allows you to share your personal story and insights. Crafting engaging and well-structured ideas for a narrative essay is essential for capturing your reader's attention. To help you learn how to start a narrative essay effectively, follow these five simple steps.

Step 1: Brainstorm Narrative Essay Topics

The first step is brainstorming narrative writing topics. Begin by thinking about personal experiences that have made a significant impact on you. Consider moments of growth, challenge, joy, or change. These experiences can provide a rich foundation for your narrative.

How to Research Narrative Essay Topics:

  • Reflect on Personal Experiences : Think about significant moments in your life. What stories do you often share with friends and family? These can be great starting points.
  • Read Other Narrative Essays : Look at examples of narrative essays online or in books. This can give you ideas for structure and themes.
  • Journaling : Write about your daily experiences and feelings.
  • Ask for Feedback : Talk to friends, family, or teachers about your ideas. They might provide a fresh perspective or remind you of stories you’ve forgotten.
  • Consider Your Audience : Think about what stories would resonate with your readers. Choose topics that are engaging and relatable.

10 Narrative Essay Topics:

  • Describe a situation where your plans went awry but ended positively.
  • Focus on a dish you've cooked or baked. Share the recipe's story, emotional impact, and significance.
  • Reflect on a teacher who profoundly influenced your learning experience.
  • Describe an encounter with nature's beauty or strength and its impact on your worldview.
  • Recall a time you faced and conquered a significant fear, showing personal growth.
  • Reflect on an interaction with someone from a different cultural background, exploring lessons learned and challenges faced.
  • Explore the memories of a cherished item. How did you acquire it, and what significant events are tied to it?
  • Write about a passionate endeavor where failure led to personal growth and resilience.
  • Share a song or musical experience that deeply resonated with you and its significance in your life.
  • Reflect on losing something valuable and what it taught you about perseverance and resilience.

For more ideas, check out the Narrative Essay Topic list.

Step 2: Make a Narrative Essay Outline

Once you've chosen your topic, start by outlining your narrative essay. For instance, if you're writing about a memorable trip, begin with a scene-setting paragraph. Then, describe key experiences and interactions in subsequent paragraphs. Conclude by reflecting on how the trip affected you. In your conclusion, summarize the main events and their significance to effectively wrap up your story. For a more systematic approach, make sure to check out how to write an essay conclusion .

Topic: A Memorable Trip 🌍
Introduction 🎯 Begin with a captivating scene or anecdote from the trip. Briefly introduce the destination and purpose of the trip. State the significance of this trip in your life.
Setting the Scene 🌄
Key Experiences and Interactions 🌟 Detail a standout experience or adventure during the trip. Discuss an interaction with a local or a fellow traveler. Describe another memorable moment or activity.
Reflections and Insights 💡
Conclusion 🎓

Step 3: Write Your Narrative Essay

When you're ready to start writing your narrative essay, refer to your outline to develop each section with clear and engaging language. Unlike academic essays, narrative essays don’t need to follow strict formalities or summarize everything in the introduction.

Tip : Write from your own perspective . Most narratives use the first-person point of view, so feel free to use pronouns like "I" and "me" to describe your experiences.

Tip : Use creative storytelling techniques . Drawing from fiction or creative nonfiction, employ methods like dialogue, flashbacks, and symbolism to captivate readers and convey the themes of your essay effectively.

Tip : Focus on a central theme or message . Identify a central theme or message that your narrative revolves around. This gives your essay coherence and depth, guiding your storytelling towards a meaningful conclusion.

Step 4: Revise Your Narrative Essay

Once you already understand how to write a narrative essay and finish your first draft, revise and refine your essay. Start by taking a break to gain fresh perspective before returning with a clear mind – this is a key strategy for enhancing your writing.

While reviewing, carefully examine it for logical coherence and smooth flow. Address any inconsistencies or gaps in the narrative, refining your writing to improve clarity. Pay attention to details such as tense, point of view, and narrative voice throughout.

Step 5: Proofread and Publish Your Narrative Essay

After writing a narrative essay, take time to thoroughly proofread for any remaining errors or typos. Ensure proper formatting and citation style, if required.

Sharing your essay with trusted individuals such as friends, family, or educators can provide valuable feedback and new perspectives. Incorporate this feedback, along with your own observations from the revision process, to strengthen the impact and effectiveness of your essay.

How to write a narrative essay [Updated 2024]

How to write a narrative essay

A narrative essay is an opportunity to flex your creative muscles and craft a compelling story. In this blog post, we define what a narrative essay is and provide strategies and examples for writing one.

What is a narrative essay?

Similarly to a descriptive essay or a reflective essay, a narrative essay asks you to tell a story, rather than make an argument and present evidence. Most narrative essays describe a real, personal experience from your own life (for example, the story of your first big success).

Alternately, your narrative essay might focus on an imagined experience (for example, how your life would be if you had been born into different circumstances). While you don’t need to present a thesis statement or scholarly evidence, a narrative essay still needs to be well-structured and clearly organized so that the reader can follow your story.

When you might be asked to write a narrative essay

Although less popular than argumentative essays or expository essays, narrative essays are relatively common in high school and college writing classes.

The same techniques that you would use to write a college essay as part of a college or scholarship application are applicable to narrative essays, as well. In fact, the Common App that many students use to apply to multiple colleges asks you to submit a narrative essay.

How to choose a topic for a narrative essay

When you are asked to write a narrative essay, a topic may be assigned to you or you may be able to choose your own. With an assigned topic, the prompt will likely fall into one of two categories: specific or open-ended.

Examples of specific prompts:

  • Write about the last vacation you took.
  • Write about your final year of middle school.

Examples of open-ended prompts:

  • Write about a time when you felt all hope was lost.
  • Write about a brief, seemingly insignificant event that ended up having a big impact on your life.

A narrative essay tells a story and all good stories are centered on a conflict of some sort. Experiences with unexpected obstacles, twists, or turns make for much more compelling essays and reveal more about your character and views on life.

If you’re writing a narrative essay as part of an admissions application, remember that the people reviewing your essay will be looking at it to gain a sense of not just your writing ability, but who you are as a person.

In these cases, it’s wise to choose a topic and experience from your life that demonstrates the qualities that the prompt is looking for, such as resilience, perseverance, the ability to stay calm under pressure, etc.

It’s also important to remember that your choice of topic is just a starting point. Many students find that they arrive at new ideas and insights as they write their first draft, so the final form of your essay may have a different focus than the one you started with.

How to outline and format a narrative essay

Even though you’re not advancing an argument or proving a point of view, a narrative essay still needs to have a coherent structure. Your reader has to be able to follow you as you tell the story and to figure out the larger point that you’re making.

You’ll be evaluated on is your handling of the topic and how you structure your essay. Even though a narrative essay doesn’t use the same structure as other essay types, you should still sketch out a loose outline so you can tell your story in a clear and compelling way.

To outline a narrative essay, you’ll want to determine:

  • how your story will start
  • what points or specifics that you want to cover
  • how your story will end
  • what pace and tone you will use

In the vast majority of cases, a narrative essay should be written in the first-person, using “I.” Also, most narrative essays will follow typical formatting guidelines, so you should choose a readable font like Times New Roman in size 11 or 12. Double-space your paragraphs and use 1” margins.

To get your creative wheels turning, consider how your story compares to archetypes and famous historical and literary figures both past and present. Weave these comparisons into your essay to improve the quality of your writing and connect your personal experience to a larger context.

How to write a narrative essay

Writing a narrative essay can sometimes be a challenge for students who typically write argumentative essays or research papers in a formal, objective style. To give you a better sense of how you can write a narrative essay, here is a short example of an essay in response to the prompt, “Write about an experience that challenged your view of yourself.”

Narrative essay example

Even as a child, I always had what people might call a reserved personality. It was sometimes framed as a positive (“Sarah is a good listener”) and at other times it was put in less-than-admiring terms (“Sarah is withdrawn and not very talkative”). It was the latter kind of comments that caused me to see my introverted nature as a drawback and as something I should work to eliminate. That is, until I joined my high school’s student council.

The first paragraph, or introduction, sets up the context, establishing the situation and introducing the meaningful event upon which the essay will focus.

The other four students making up the council were very outspoken and enthusiastic. I enjoyed being around them, and I often agreed with their ideas. However, when it came to overhauling our school’s recycling plan, we butted heads. When I spoke up and offered a different point of view, one of my fellow student council members launched into a speech, advocating for her point of view. As her voice filled the room, I couldn’t get a word in edgewise. I wondered if I should try to match her tone, volume, and assertiveness as a way to be heard. But I just couldn’t do it—it’s not my way, and it never has been. For a fleeting moment, I felt defeated. But then, something in me shifted.

In this paragraph, the writer goes into greater depth about how her existing thinking brought her to this point.

I reminded myself that my view was valid and deserved to be heard. So I waited. I let my fellow council member speak her piece and when she was finished, I deliberately waited a few moments before calmly stating my case. I chose my words well, and I spoke them succinctly. Just because I’m not a big talker doesn’t mean I’m not a big thinker. I thought of the quotation “still waters run deep” and I tried to embody that. The effect on the room was palpable. People listened. And I hadn’t had to shout my point to be heard.

This paragraph demonstrates the turn in the story, the moment when everything changed. The use of the quotation “still waters run deep” imbues the story with a dash of poetry and emotion.

We eventually reached a compromise on the matter and concluded the student council meeting. Our council supervisor came to me afterward and said: “You handled that so well, with such grace and poise. I was very impressed.” Her words in that moment changed me. I realized that a bombastic nature isn't necessarily a powerful one. There is power in quiet, too. This experience taught me to view my reserved personality not as a character flaw, but as a strength.

The final paragraph, or conclusion, closes with a statement about the significance of this event and how it ended up changing the writer in a meaningful way.

Narrative essay writing tips

1. pick a meaningful story that has a conflict and a clear “moral.”.

If you’re able to choose your own topic, pick a story that has meaning and that reveals how you became the person your are today. In other words, write a narrative with a clear “moral” that you can connect with your main points.

2. Use an outline to arrange the structure of your story and organize your main points.

Although a narrative essay is different from argumentative essays, it’s still beneficial to construct an outline so that your story is well-structured and organized. Note how you want to start and end your story, and what points you want to make to tie everything together.

3. Be clear, concise, concrete, and correct in your writing.

You should use descriptive writing in your narrative essay, but don’t overdo it. Use clear, concise, and correct language and grammar throughout. Additionally, make concrete points that reinforce the main idea of your narrative.

4. Ask a friend or family member to proofread your essay.

No matter what kind of writing you’re doing, you should always plan to proofread and revise. To ensure that your narrative essay is coherent and interesting, ask a friend or family member to read over your paper. This is especially important if your essay is responding to a prompt. It helps to have another person check to make sure that you’ve fully responded to the prompt or question.

Frequently Asked Questions about narrative essays

A narrative essay, like any essay, has three main parts: an introduction, a body and a conclusion. Structuring and outlining your essay before you start writing will help you write a clear story that your readers can follow.

The first paragraph of your essay, or introduction, sets up the context, establishing the situation and introducing the meaningful event upon which the essay will focus.

In the vast majority of cases, a narrative essay should be written in the first-person, using “I.”

The 4 main types of essays are the argumentative essay, narrative essay, exploratory essay, and expository essay. You may be asked to write different types of essays at different points in your education.

Most narrative essays will be around five paragraphs, or more, depending on the topic and requirements. Make sure to check in with your instructor about the guidelines for your essay. If you’re writing a narrative essay for a college application, pay close attention to word or page count requirements.

My birthday is the most special day in my life. I love my birthday since my parents give me gifts on that day. I cut a cake and have a party with all my friends. This year I got a bicycle for my birthday, and it is the best gift I have received so far! My birthday celebration starts bright and early in the day. I wake up early get ready for school in special clothes for my birthday. We are allowed to skip uniforms on this day.

The birthday celebration in school is fun. My classmates sing ‘happy birthday’ for me in the morning, and I get to distribute chocolates to everyone. I always carry a few more chocolates and give all my best friends one extra.

The real party starts at home in the evening, and all my closest friends are invited. My family and neighbours also join in the celebration, and we all have a great evening.

Long-form essays are a bit tricky to write for all kids. They need to have a mental picture of the details they need to include and weave a good narrative. Here is a sample of a long essay on ‘My Birthday’:

My birthday is the most awaited event of the year for me. It is the day when I am treated extra special and get a free pass for everything! I always have my birthdays planned out. If it is a school day, I have to attend as usual but after school, I have a party planned in the evening with friends and neighbours. If it is a day off from school, my parents usually take me out during the day. We go to my favourite place and have fun. Then, we go back home and have more fun at the party in the evening.

My parents always plan for my birthdays beforehand, so that everything goes smoothly. On my birthday, I get to decide what clothes to wear, select the cake, plan party games and decide other such details almost a week before my birthday so everything is ready just in time. My parents always get me the cake of my choice, and it is a new design every year. This year it was the Avengers, my favourite superheroes. I always invite my friends from school and the neighbourhood to my birthday party so that we can enjoy ourselves together.

If my birthday falls on a school day, I wear special clothes to school for the day because we are allowed to skip our uniform that day. I carry two bags of chocolates to share with all my classmates. Birthdays are always fun because the teachers and classmates treat me extra special. I like distributing chocolates to everyone in my class, and always give one extra to all my friends.

At home, we have the party planned out for the evening. By the time I return from school, my mother decorates the house and has the place all set for the party. All my friends arrive in the evening, and we cut the cake soon after. My mother makes delicious snacks for all of us, which we lap up happily. We also play many games and have the most fun time. In the end, it is time to open the presents. I start unwrapping all my gifts as soon as everyone leaves. This is my favourite part of the entire day, as I always have to wait to see what I might receive in every new box!

The essay on ‘My Birthday’ teaches your child to write about their experiences and thoughts in simple English. Although children have ideas about what they want to write in the essay, they may not always be able to put it into words. With these samples, they will get some ideas about how to word their thoughts and write a good essay.

Some children may also want to write about their plans for their birthday coming up soon. They may have many ideas and thoughts about how they would like to celebrate their day. An Essay on My Most Memorable Birthday [With PDF]

Birthday, TAdaaa! The most exciting day of everyone’s life. A day full of fun and eat. Here in this essay paper, we are going to cover a birthday topic that is My most memorable birthday, so let’s jump into the topic!

Essay on My Most Memorable Birthday feature image

Birthdays are a lot of fun. Your friends come together to celebrate your life and have a great time together. In my short life, I have seen a few birthdays. For the most part, they have been all the same. My parents send out the invitations, my friends dress up and come at the appointed hour, we eat a lot of food, play a lot of games and have a lot of fun.

One of the problems with birthdays though, all the good ones seem to melt together. It is hard to distinguish one birthday from another. They all seem to have a common theme and one good party is the same as the one previous to it and the one previous to that one.

Sometimes it is hard to pick one but not this time. I have one particular birthday that has stood out in my memory and while it does not haunt me it does not leave my memory banks. It is just kind of there reminding me that not all birthdays are memorable for good reasons. This particular birthday was not marred by accidents, injuries, or disasters. And the memorable part came after it was over.

It all took place on my 19th birthday, a year out of high school. I was a freshman in college at the time and my friends who attended were my classmates. It was not an exotic affair, just friends gathering together to celebrate a birthday over a nice dinner in town.

None of us had a car so we took the bus to the restaurant. This particular restaurant was not that expensive but it was very birthday friendly. That allowed us to have a good time without disturbing other dinner guests. I do not remember what we ate but it was good. That much I do remember about the food. the cake was shaped like a heart because my birthday falls on Valentine’s Day.

I have become tired of heart-shaped cakes as I seem to have one every year. My birthday wishes now are to get a different shaped cake next year. Before they presented me with their gifts they had to sing Happy Birthday to me which I appreciated but thought they could have skipped that part.

Of course, they did not have to but friends being friends always give something nice to their buddy on their birthday. This part I enjoyed immensely but it did not separate this particular day from all the previous ones. I always received gifts n my birthday.

I am not sure how long the party lasted but it could not go to late as our college had a curfew and we had to be back by 10 or we would be in trouble, birthday or not. By all accounts, this was not a memorable birthday. It was the standard party most people receive on their special day. Good friends just gathered together for a great time of fun and food.

What made it memorable was the news I received after I returned to my college dorm room. My family had called with sad news. One of my best childhood friends had passed away earlier that night. We were friends since before we went to elementary school and we faced school life together. He was more outgoing than I and he had a lot of friends.

What made it hard to fathom was my friend did not have a dangerous or contagious disease. Nor did he take a lot of risks when participating in different activities. No, he died of appendicitis. It had burst before the doctors could save him.

Maybe I would have understood it better if he had not died from such a simple medical procedure. There are times I think about my friend and that keeps this birthday standing out above all the rest.

So how was this essay on My Most Memorable Birthday, do share your thoughts on the comment section, I will love to see your comments!

The Celebration

In the evening, we have a small party. Cutting the cake and sharing it with everyone is the highlight of the day. My birthday ends with a heart full of happiness.

250 Words Essay on My Birthday

Introduction.

Birthdays are unique occasions that mark the progression of our lives. They stand as significant milestones, each one reminding us of the journey we’ve undertaken, the growth we’ve experienced, and the memories we’ve created. As I reflect on my own birthday, it transcends beyond a mere celebration; it becomes a philosophical journey into self-discovery and maturity.

Anticipation and Preparation

The anticipation of my birthday begins weeks in advance. As the day approaches, I plan meticulously, considering the guest list, the food, and the venue. This process is a testament to my growing responsibilities and decision-making skills, reflecting my evolution from a carefree child to a thoughtful adult.

The Day of Reflection

On the day itself, the flurry of well wishes and presents is always heartwarming, but it’s the quiet moments of introspection that hold the most value for me. I take time to reflect on the past year, assessing my achievements, failures, lessons learned, and how I’ve grown as an individual. This introspection provides clarity and a sense of purpose as I step into another year of life.

Gratitude and Celebration

The celebration is not just about marking another year of existence, but expressing gratitude for the journey so far. Surrounded by loved ones, I am reminded of the support system that has been instrumental in shaping my life. The laughter, camaraderie, and shared memories create an atmosphere of joy and gratitude.

In conclusion, my birthday is more than just a date on the calendar. It is a celebration of life, growth, and personal evolution. It’s a day of reflection and gratitude, marking the journey I’ve undertaken and the road that lies ahead. As I blow out the candles each year, I am not just making a wish, but reaffirming my commitment to growth and learning.

500 Words Essay on My Birthday

A day of reflection: my birthday.

The anticipation of my birthday begins weeks in advance. This anticipation is not necessarily for the party or the gifts, but rather for the opportunity to reflect on the year that has passed. I find myself mentally preparing for this day, gathering my thoughts and experiences, ready to dissect them on the day itself.

The Dawn of Self-Reflection

As the day dawns, I engage in a ritual of self-reflection. I find a quiet corner, a notebook, and a pen, and I begin to write. I write about my achievements and failures, my joys and sorrows, my dreams and fears. I write about the people who have touched my life and the lessons they have taught me. This introspective exercise helps me understand where I stand in life and where I aspire to be.

Revisiting Past Resolutions

Setting new goals.

Having revisited my past resolutions, I proceed to set new goals for the upcoming year. These goals are not just career-oriented or academically inclined. They span various aspects of life, including personal growth, relationships, health, and hobbies. I believe in setting holistic goals that encompass the entirety of my being.

Celebration: A Different Perspective

While I do partake in the traditional birthday celebrations such as cake-cutting and gift-opening, they hold a different significance for me. The cake symbolizes another year of growth and learning, while the gifts represent the love and support of my friends and family. The celebration is not just about my birth but about the person I have become.

Gratitude: The Closing Note

In conclusion, my birthday is much more than a day of celebration. It is a day of reflection, of understanding, of goal-setting, and of gratitude. It is a day that allows me to appreciate the journey of life and look forward to the journey ahead.
