SV Krishna Reddy, one of the leading directors of the 1990s, has a distinct style. But he has been out of form and action for quite some time. He made a comeback with "Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu" after a lengthy absence.

Let us see if he succeeds in this new inning.

Story: Vijay (Sohel) is an aspiring filmmaker who has had little success. He falls in love with Haasini (Mirinalini Ravi), a wealthy girl. Her father Venkataramana (Rajendra Prasad) is not only rich, but he also prefers to live his life according to traditional values. 

When he learns of his daughter's love affair with Vijay, he is outraged. Why does he have such strong objections to their relationship, and how exactly would this Hybrid alludu manage to win over the organic mama's heart?

Artistes’ Performances: Sohel has tried his hand at many different stunts typical of commercial heroes, but he simply doesn't have what it takes. As a hero, he fares averagely. Mirnalini Ravi plays a standard type of heroine. 

Rajendra Prasad reprises Prakash Raj's "Race Gurram" role as Organic mama. Despite the cliché nature of his character, Rajendra Prasad gives it some respect.

The comedians have made zero impression. The humour has worn thin. Sunil, however provides, some fun. Varun Sandesh in his brief role is okay.

Technical Excellence: In addition to directing, SV Krishna Reddy also wrote the script and composed the musical score. The dialogue is reasonably well done, but the songs don't hold up.

"Allasani Vaari Allika'' is the only tuneful track. It's also clumsy when it comes to editing. The film's production values are high (which seems to have been largely shot in Ramoji Film city).

Analysis This "Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu" provided SV Krishna Reddy, the director of such blockbusters as "Yamaleela" and "Subhalagnam," with the ideal platform from which to reach today's younger moviegoers.

He cast Sohel, a star of the reality show "Bigg Boss," as the film's protagonist and Mrinalini, of "Gaddlakonda Ganesh" fame, as the film's heroine. The movie features an impressive cast, and its title is hip as well.

However, what matters is the narration and presentation. Unfortunately, SV Krishna Reddy has not kept up with the times, and the narration is decidedly out of style.

First and foremost, the plotline is clichéd. Krishna Reddy has made an effort to split the story's comedic and dramatic elements into two distinct tracks. The combination is a disaster. There is no freshness in the film at any point. The stale comedy sequences continue for long stretches of the film.

The jokes are amusing at first, but they become irritating after a while. The Ajay Ghosh subplot is the most tedious aspect of the whole show.

The formula of one scene, a song, a comedy bit, a romantic segment, and a song has become obsolete. So neither the scenes nor the presentation are organic.

Though a bit farcical, the climax is somewhat better. But, when the entire piece is dull, what difference does a single sequence providing solace make?

Overall, "Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu" not only lacks freshness, but it also makes the viewer impatient while watching the proceedings. It's a test of our patience.

Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu : Story Review

Vijay (Sohel) is a flop film director who turned into seller of Kondapalli craft toys sculpted by his parents. He and Haasini (Mrinalini Ravi) falls for each other. Meanwhile he gets a film offer from a producer Munikonda (Sunil). But, Haasini's father Venkataramana (Rajendra Prasad) is filthy rich and didn't accept his daughter's love for Vijay citing his poor financial status. Venkataratnam also gives importance to loving life with traditional values. What happened to Vijay - Haasini's lovestory ? Did Vijay succeeded with his new film ? Answers to these questions form the story of the film.

Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu : Artists Review

Sohel has decent screen presence and he tries all like a typical commercial hero. But, succeeded only to some extent in doing everything like dances, stunts, comedy. He did okay overall on his part. Mirnalini Ravi looks good with expressive face and did her part as a regular heroine in old style love story films. Rajendra Prasad's role reminds of Prakash Raj's character in Race Gurram. Though his role is written with familiar tropes, he manages and carried it with his experience. Sunil in an innocent role provides some laughs. Varun Sandesh is okay in a cameo kind of role. Other comedians failed miserably with poorly written comedy and made it even more difficult to watch with their overboard acting.

Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu : Technicians Review

S.V. Krishna Reddy came up with a story which suits him adding elements of his strength to it. But, it seems like he forgets that the year is 2023 but not 2003. The story and narrative style feels like watching an outdated film. Despite of many underwhelming aspects SVK has managed the first half with okayish comedy and neatly picturised songs. But, the entire second half goes haywire with outlandish comedy. The over stretched comedy track made things even worse. 

Music provided by S.V. Krishna Reddy himself sounds like the same tunes of his hit films in 90's which gives a retro feeling. 'Allasaani Vaari Allika' song came out well. Cinematography by Ram Prasad looked vibrant. Editing is horrendous as some scenes goes on and on and on. Even the climax is over dragged beyond a point. Production values look good and rich.

Though the film Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu has enough casting to make things work, the happenings and flow in the film is not organic. It seems forceful and out of the place with outdated story ideas and direction. The film lacks any freshness and doens't have any novel points. The formulaic song - scene - fight - comedy - song is done and dusted years ago. It purely lacks novel screenplay ideas. 'Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu' was released in theatres today. It is produced by Koneru Kalpana on Kalpana Chitra in association with Ammu Creations.

Vijay (Sohel) is a failed filmmaker. His father (Surya) is thoroughly disappointed that he has bankrupted two producers by making two consecutive duds. Vijay takes to selling Kondapalli idols on behalf of his father and mother ( Hema ). This is when he crosses paths with Hasini (Mirinalini Ravi), the pampered daughter of a rich businessman named Venkata Ramana (Rajendra Prasad). What happens when Venkata Ramana comes to know of his daughter's love affair with Vijay? How will Vijay walk the tightrope after Hasini's father rejects their marital alliance? Can Vijay ever redeem himself?

Post-Mortem:

When you are watching the comeback film of a respected filmmaker, you have to be more than just an audience member. You have to become a commentator. How do directors, who are well past their prime, think today? Do they have an understanding of the mindsets of today's generation? It is not just about the tastes of the cinemagoer. It is about having a clue about the spirit of today's times. SV Krishna Reddy, who made some of the most lovable movies of the 1990s, believes that youths today would like to watch a good-for-nothing male lead who happens to get lucky because a rich girl falls in love with his innocence and supposed charms!

When Ravali's character loved an unemployed and unemployable loafer in 'Vinodham', we were entertained. When JD Chakravarthy's character in 'Premaku Velayera' saved manufacturers by doling out instant solutions at his consultancy, the oversimplification worked somehow. Today, we are living in more aware times. So, when Sohel's character in 'Organic Mama..' sells his silly salesman ideas to a star hotel in a snap, it is embarrassing to watch.

Rajendra Prasad , a health-conscious millionaire who manufactures organic foods, can't find a single suitable match for his daughter. He finds a rich man who turns out to be a petty thief. Later, he finds another joker. This is a done-to-death trope in our movies. If the hero is jobless or poor, the heroine's father finds for his daughter men who are worse than the hero. In real life, the father would just log on to Bharat Matrimony and find a villa-owing millionaire in no time.

Meena makes a comeback in the role of a wife who transforms her status-conscious husband's mind in a jiffy. The tragedy is that this game-changing monologue comes only in the pre-climax. Wonder what such wives do the rest of the time.

Just about 15 minutes of the story remain after the interval. The interval scene is where the film is practically over. The director knew it and therefore, he force-fits a comedy track involving the male lead, Ajay Ghosh (as a real estate scamster), Praveen and others. Even Sunil , who plays a naive film producer, was there just to prolong the proceedings. Varun Sandesh and Rashmi Gautam are seen in extended cameos.

Musically, the film smartly rehashes old songs. The cinematography is low-end.

Closing Remarks

Director SV Krishna Reddy's comeback movie is a thorough disappointment. It is clueless about today's trends.

Senior director SV Krishna Reddy, known for dishing out wholesome family entertainers, came up with Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu after a gap of about eight years.

While Big Boss winner Syed Sohel and Mrinalini are the lead actors, Rajendra Prasad and Meena played key roles in the film.

Let’s check if SV Krishna Reddy succeeded in retaining his magic with this long-awaited film:

Venkataramana (Rajendra Prasad) owns hundreds of acres of land. He is a man of principles and grows organic vegetables and produces.

On the other hand, Vijay (Sohel) delivers two flop movies as a director and is a failure. His parents make a living by selling Kondapalli toys.

Haasini (Mrinalini) is the doting daughter of Venkataramana. He wants to marry her off to a successful guy. But, much to his chagrin, Haasini falls in love with Vijay. What ensues next is the crux of this family entertainer.

Fails to meet the expectations

SV Krishna Reddy is known for making sensible movies loaded with entertainment like Shubhalagnam , Yamaleela , Aahwanam , and Mayalodu , among others. He won a special place in the hearts of the Telugu audience because of his commendable work.

Combining a good message with humour is his forte. But the essence of SV Krishna Reddy goes missing in Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu .

The comedy entertainer neither has a heart-touching point nor entertainment. As a result, it fails to live up to the expectations of the audience.

The story is quite routine, the twists are predictable and the climax is drab. The only good thing about the movie is that it is made for the family audience with absolutely no obscenity or objectionable dialogue.

The performances

Sohel is improving as a performer; he gets a meaty role in the movie. Though he is fine as Vijay, the poor script lets him down.

Senior actor Rajendra Prasad can singlehandedly steer a movie towards success. But SV Krishna Reddy fails to make the most of his acting skills.

Mrinalini Ravi is decent. Senior actress Meena appears as Rajendraprasad’s wife and is good.

Ajay Ghosh, Sunil, Sapthagiri, Varun Sandesh, and Prithvi are passable as supporting actors.

The technical crafts

As for all his films, SV Krishna Reddy composed the music for Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu , too. Barring one song, all the others are forgettable. The background score is passable.

The cinematography by Ram Prasad is good. Editor Pravin Pudi should have trimmed the movie by at least half an hour.

Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu created a buzz as it marks the comeback film of director SV Krishna Reddy.

Given the funny title, it was expected that the film would be a hilarious entertainer like the filmmaker’s previous works. But it disappoints!

విజయ్ (సోహెల్‌) రెండు ప్లాప్ సినిమాలు తీసిన దర్శకుడు. హాసిని ( మృణాళిని రవి) ఆర్గానిక్ వెంకట రమణ (రాజేంద్రప్రసాద్‌) కూతురు. కూతుర్ని ఆర్గానిక్ వెంకట రమణ ఎంతో అపురూపంగా పెంచుకుంటాడు. ఆమె విషయంలో ఎంతో జాగ్రత్తగా ఉంటాడు. అయితే, ఆర్గానిక్ వెంకట రమణ భయ పడినట్లుగానే.. హాసిని విజయ్ తో ప్రేమలో పడుతుంది. అనంతరం జరిగిన కొన్ని నాటకీయ పరిణామాల నేపథ్యంలో విజయ్ – హాసిని ప్రేమ కథ ఎలా సాగింది ?, ఆర్గానిక్ వెంకట రమణ వీరి ప్రేమను అంగీకరించాడా ? లేదా ? అనేది మిగిలిన కథ.

‘ఆర్గానిక్‌ మామ హైబ్రిడ్‌ అల్లుడు’ అంటూ కామెడీ లవ్ డ్రామాతో వచ్చిన ఎస్వీ కృష్ణారెడ్డి, ఈ సినిమాలో కొన్ని కామెడీ అండ్ ఎమోషనల్ సీన్స్ తో ఆకట్టుకునే ప్రయత్నం చేశారు. ఈ చిత్రంలో ప్రధానంగా విజయ్ పాత్ర.. ఆ పాత్రకి సంబంధించిన లవ్ ట్రాక్, అలాగే ఆ పాత్రతో ముడి పడిన మిగిలిన పాత్రలు.. ఆ పాత్రల తాలూకు పాయింట్ ఆఫ్ వ్యూస్.. ఇలా మొత్తానికి ఆర్గానిక్‌ మామ హైబ్రిడ్‌ అల్లుడు కొన్ని చోట్ల పర్వాలేదు.

హీరోగా నటించిన బిగ్‌బాస్‌ ఫేం సోహెల్‌ చాలా బాగా నటించాడు. తన ఈజ్ యాక్టింగ్ తో అండ్ సెటిల్డ్ పెర్ఫార్మెన్స్ తో సోహెల్‌ ఆకట్టుకున్నాడు. విజయ్ పాత్రలో చాలా బాగా ఒదిగిపోయాడు. హీరోయిన్ గా నటించిన మృణాళిని రవి తన లుక్స్ తో ఆకట్టుకుంది. అలాగే ఈ సినిమాలో నటించడానికి ఆమె బాగానే తాపత్రయ పడింది. ఇక పేరెంట్స్ పాత్రల్లో కనిపించిన రాజేంద్రప్రసాద్, మీనా చాలా బాగా నటించారు. మీనా డైలాగ్స్ బాగానే ఉన్నాయి. అలాగే మిగిలిన నటీనటులు కూడా తమ పాత్ర పరిధి మేరకు నటించారు.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

దర్శకుడు ఎస్వీ కృష్ణారెడ్డి తాను రాసుకున్న లైన్ ను పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ఆకట్టుకునే విధంగా స్క్రీన్ ప్లేను రాసుకోలేదు. విజయ్ – హాసిని మధ్య సాగే సీన్స్ బాగా స్లోగా సాగుతాయి. అలాగే వారి ప్రేమకు బలమైన సంఘర్షణ కూడా లేదు. వీరి మధ్య అనవసరమైన ల్యాగ్ సీన్స్ ఎక్కువైపోయాయి. దీనికీ తోడు పాత చిత్రాల ప్రభావం ఈ చిత్రం పై మరీ ఎక్కువగా ఉంది.

పైగా సినిమా ఈ స్లో నేరేషన్ తో పాటు బోరింగ్ ట్రీట్మెంట్ అండ్ ఫేక్ ఎమోషన్స్ తో సాగుతుంది. ఫస్ట్ హాఫ్ లో కొన్ని కీలక సీన్స్ మరియు ఇంటర్వెల్ సీన్ మినహా మిగతా సీన్స్ పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ఆకట్టుకోవు. ఇక సెకెండాఫ్ ని కాస్త ఎమోషనల్ గా నడుపుదామని దర్శకుడు బాగానే ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు, కానీ ఎక్కడా ఆ ఎమోషన్ వర్కౌట్ కాలేదు. పైగా సిల్లీ ఎమోషన్స్ చుట్టూ పేలవమైన సీన్స్ తో సినిమాని సాగదీశారు.

సాంకేతిక విభాగం :

సాంకేతిక విభాగం విషయానికి వస్తే ముందే చెప్పుకున్నట్లు.. దర్శకుడు సరైన కథా కథనాలను రాసుకోలేకపోయారు. సినిమాలో బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ బాగుంది. పాటలు పరవాలేదు. సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ బాగుంది. ఎడిటింగ్ ఇంకా బెటర్ గా ఉండాల్సింది. నిర్మాత ఎక్కడా కాంప్రమైజ్ కాకుండా ఈ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మించారు. నిర్మాణ విలువులు చాలా బాగున్నాయి.

దర్శకుడు ఎస్వీ కృష్ణారెడ్డి చాలా గ్యాప్ తర్వాత దర్శకుడిగా చేసిన ఈ చిత్రం ఆకట్టుకోలేకపోయింది. నమ్మశక్యం కాని సన్నివేశాలతో, ఇంట్రెస్ట్ కలిగించలేని ప్లేతో అండ్ వర్కౌట్ కాని కామెడీ సీన్స్ వంటి అంశాలు కారణంగా ఈ సినిమా ఫలితం దెబ్బ తింది. ఐతే, కొన్ని లవ్ సీన్స్ అండ్ ఎమోషన్స్ బాగానే ఉన్నాయి. ఓవరాల్ గా ప్రేక్షకులకు ఈ సినిమా నచ్చదు.

SV Krishna Reddy, once a top director in the 1990s has been away from the movies for a long time. The star director who delivered some of the biggest hits like Mayalodu, Rajendrudu Gajendrudu and Shubalagnam came up with a new entertainer Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu featuring Sohel of ‘Bigg Boss’ fame. Let’s see whether SV Krishna Reddy can get his mojo back or not.

Story: Vijay, an unsuccessful movie director, had to resort to selling Kondapalli toys made by his sculptor parents to make ends meet. It was during this tough phase that he met Haasini, a charming young lady, in a posh hotel, and they quickly fell in love with each other. Soon after, a producer named Munikonda offered Vijay a chance to direct a film, which seemed like a turning point in his life.

However, their love story hit a roadblock when Haasini’s father, Venkatramana, discovered their relationship. Venkatramana objected to the match, citing Vijay’s family’s poor financial situation. This left Vijay in a dilemma as he desperately wanted to prove himself to Venkatramana and win his approval.

As the story unfolds, we see Vijay striving hard to make his film a success, but the path is not an easy one. The challenges he faces seem insurmountable, but he remains undeterred. Meanwhile, he also tries to win over Venkatramana, who remains skeptical of his intentions.

The film’s climax reveals whether Vijay’s hard work and determination pay off and if he is able to win the approval of Haasini’s father. The story is a beautiful tale of love, perseverance, and overcoming obstacles, and it keeps the audience hooked till the very end.

Plus Points:  The hero Sohel, who shot to fame through the reality show Bigg Boss, delivers an impressive performance in the film. His portrayal of a failed director and an honest individual is praiseworthy. Sohel’s dancing, fighting, and heroic scenes are sure to entertain his fans, making his screen presence quite impactful.

Mrinalini Ravi, who made her Telugu debut with Gadhhalakonda Ganesh, showcases her expressive skills as Haasini. The actress looks stunning and shares a great chemistry with the lead actor. It’s refreshing to see Sunil in a lighthearted and humorous role, and his body language and mannerisms are well utilized by the director.

Although the first half of the film is average, the comedy is decent. Rajendra Prasad, who plays an important role, delivers his usual best. The songs are beautifully picturized, and the film is clean without any inappropriate content. Varun Sandesh’s cameo appearance is satisfactory.

Overall, the film’s cast does a commendable job, making it a treat for audiences.

Minus Points:  Post interval of Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu involving Sohel, Mrinalini, Ajay Ghosh, and Praveen is unbearably tedious, with the comedy failing to bring any laughter. It lacks any connection to the main plot, and the prolonged duration tests the patience of the audience. To make matters worse, it is followed by a song, making it a tedious experience.

This movie fails to offer anything new, just as a key character in the film remarks. The movie follows a formulaic approach, with a fight scene followed by a song and then a comedy sequence. The film also suffers from repetitiveness, particularly in the way Rajendra Prasad’s character expresses his frustration, which quickly becomes monotonous.

Verdict:  On the whole, the movie Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu fails to offer a refreshing viewing experience, and the second half’s length becomes a significant drawback, with the film’s predictable narrative making it a tedious watch.

Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu Movie Review: This romantic drama is outdated and insipid

In one of the early scenes of Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu (OMHA), we see Mirnalini Ravi's character fall in love with Vijay (Sohel) at the first sight, with no foreshadowing or underlying emotion to explain why. We see her gaze on this man while he is conning a group of white tourists into buying his family's handicraft Kondapalli dolls. A couple of minutes later, a set of goons catcall her and her friends, only to be saved by the hero. We immediately cut to a song set in Ramoji Film City, and lo and behold, these two people are in love forever.

Overall, OMHA stands as an outcome of an uninventive plotline and prosaic narrative. For the most part, the film stands on a redundant-retro story from the canon of masala movies. A rich girl falls in love with a poor boy. The rich girl's dad does not approve of the alliance and then... You guessed it right. The poor boy proves himself, and subsequently, the rich girl's dad stands corrected. Then, the rich girl and poor boy have a happily-ever-after story. However, one unpredictability is the sheer lack of conflict throughout the film, despite the multiple opportunities presented by its skeletal storyline. For instance, there is a series of events in the second half of OMHA where the hero and his friends elaborately lure an evil real estate builder into buying government land. And in the climax, the builder is invited to the wedding of the central characters. And exactly, when you expect a showdown or a climactic punch, you receive hardly any payoffs. OMHA’s laggard pacing is much like that of a TV soap, which works against the film leading to a patience-testing experience.  The film continues its siege of incessant boredom when, in addition to the substandard screenplay, you have to endure the lengthy dialogues, weary expositions, jejune platitudes and not-so-funny humour. And when all fails, OMHA resorts to loud, suggestive music to sledgehammer the story into its audience. Hollywood-based actor-showrunner Mindy Kaling once wrote in her memoir Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me, "I simply regard romantic comedies as a subgenre of sci-fi, in which the world created therein has different rules than my regular human world." And I would be inclined to extend that otherworldly analogy to Masala cinema as well. Verisimilitude, in this part of the world, is not synonymous with successful cinema. That said, there is a marked difference between employing suspension of disbelief for a well-packaged script with strong mythological underpinnings and being asked to do the same for a film that has conflated a series of narrative lacunae for a screenplay. And, in the case of OMHA , it could have found even the slightest of redemption if only it had an innovative and engaging screenplay and technical finesse... if only.

దాదాపు దశాబ్దం తర్వాత ప్రముఖ దర్శకుడు ఎస్వీ కృష్ణారెడ్డి తిరిగి తన చేతిలోకి మెగా ఫోన్ తీసుకున్నారు. ‘ఆర్గానిక్ మామ – హైబ్రీడ్ అల్లుడు’ పేరుతో సినిమా రూపొందించారు. తనకు అచ్చివచ్చిన రాజేంద్ర ప్రసాద్ తోనూ, ‘బిగ్ బాస్’ ఫేమ్ సోహెల్ తోనూ టైటిల్ రోల్స్ చేయించారు. కోనేరు కల్పన నిర్మించిన ఈ సినిమాకు కె. అచ్చిరెడ్డి ప్రెజెంటర్! విశేషం ఏమంటే… కథ, స్క్రీన్ ప్లే, సంగీతం, దర్శకత్వంతో పాటు ఎస్వీకే ఈ చిత్రానికి డైలాగ్స్ కూడా రాశారు. ఫ్యామిలీ ఎంటర్ టైనర్ గా జనం ముందుకు శుక్రవారం వచ్చిన ‘ఆర్గానిక్ మామ – హైబ్రీడ్ అల్లుడు’ ఏమేరకు ఎంటర్ టైన్ చేశారో తెలుసుకుందాం.

విజయ్ (సోహెల్) రెండు ఫ్లాప్ మూవీస్ తీసిన దర్శకుడు. మూడో సినిమానైనా సక్సెస్ చేయాలని కలలుకంటూ ఉంటాడు. అందుకోసం ప్రయత్నిస్తుంటాడు. అతని తల్లిదండ్రులు కొయ్యబొమ్మలు చేస్తూ జీవితాన్ని గడుపుతుంటారు. ఈ సంప్రదాయ కళకు ఆదరణ కరువు అవుతున్న టైమ్ లో విజయ్ ఓ స్టార్ హోటల్ తో టై-అప్ అయ్యి తండ్రి చేసే బొమ్మలను అమ్మే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తాడు. అదే సమయంలో అతనికి హాసిని (మృణాళిని రవి) పరిచయం అవుతుంది. అతనిలోని మాటకారితనానికి ఆమె ఫిదా అయిపోతుంది. ఆర్గానిక్ వ్యవసాయం చేస్తూ స్టార్ హోటల్స్ కు కూరగాయలు సప్లయ్ చేసే వెంకట రమణ (రాజేంద్ర ప్రసాద్) కూతురే హాసిని. కూతరంటే ఎంతో ప్రేమ ఉన్న వెంకట రమణ ఆమెను బాగా డబ్బున్నవాడికిచ్చి పెళ్ళి చేయాలనుకుంటాడు. కానీ ఇక్కడేమో ఈమె బొమ్మలు తయారు చేసే వాళ్ల కుర్రాడి ప్రేమలో పడుతుంది. మరి డైరెక్టర్ గా సక్సెస్ సాధించాలనుకున్న విజయ్ కోరిక తీరిందా? కోటీశ్వరుడికిచ్చి తన కూతురు పెళ్ళి చేయాలనుకున్న వెంకట రమణ ఆశయం నెరవేరిందా? పెద్దలంటే విపరీతమైన గౌరవం ఉన్న ఈ యువ ప్రేమికులు ఎలా పెళ్ళిపీటలు ఎక్కారు? అనేది మిగతా కథ.

ఈ సినిమాలో నిర్మాత మునికొండ… దర్శకుడైన విజయ్ ను తాము తీయబోతున్న సినిమా కథేంటో చెప్పమని తెగ బతిమలాడతాడు. సినిమా విడుదలై సక్సెస్ సాధించే వరకూ అతను నిర్మాతకు కథే చెప్పడు. ప్రతిసారీ ఏదో రకంగా దాటేస్తుంటాడు. బహుశా దర్శకుడు ఎస్వీ కృష్ణారెడ్డి కూడా ఈ సినిమా కథను చెప్పకుండానే తెర మీద చూడండని నిర్మాత కోనేరు కల్పనకు చెప్పి ఉండొచ్చు. ఎందుకంటే ఇందులో చెప్పుకోవడానికి పెద్దంత కథేమీ లేదు. చాలా సింపుల్ స్టోరీ. ఎలాంటి ట్విస్ట్స్ అండ్ టర్న్ ఉండవు. అయితే… సినిమా ప్రారంభం నుండి ముగింపు వరకూ దర్శకుడు కృష్ణారెడ్డి తనదైన శైలిలో నడిపించేశాడు. బహుశా ‘ఇదీ కథ’ అని చెబితే… ఆమె కూడా ‘రొటీన్ కథే కదా!’ అని పెదవి విరిచే ఆస్కారం లేకపోలేదు.

దర్శకుడైన హీరో క్యారెక్టరైజేషన్ చూస్తే… కృష్ణారెడ్డి తన గురించి తానే కొంత వివరణ ఇచ్చుకున్నట్టు అనిపిస్తుంది. ఫ్లాప్ ఇచ్చినంత మాత్రాన ఆ డైరెక్టర్ లో విషయంలేదని అనుకోకూడదని చెబుతూనే, అలా ఫ్లాప్స్ ను పదే పదే గుర్తు చేసి వేధించే మీడియా మీద కూడా ఎస్వీకే సెటైర్ వేశాడు. అంతస్తుల అంతరం ఉన్న ప్రేమికులకు ఆడపిల్ల తండ్రే ప్రతిబంధకంగా నిలుస్తాడు. ఇందులో హీరోయిన్ తండ్రి పాత్ర కూడా అలాంటిదే. అయినా… దాన్ని పాజిటివ్ కోణంలోనే చూపించారు. దాంతో మూవీలోని ప్రధాన పాత్రల మధ్య ఎలాంటి బిగ్ క్లాష్‌కూ ఆస్కారం లేకుండా పోయింది. సో… హీరో తనని తాను ప్రూవ్ చేసుకుని, తన మీద అందరూ పెట్టుకున్న నమ్మకాన్ని నిలబెట్టుకోవడమే అసలు టార్గెట్. దీన్ని సాధించే క్రమంలో హీరో ఎలా కష్టపడ్డాడు? అనే దానికి దర్శకుడు పెద్దంత ప్రాధాన్యం ఇవ్వలేదు. దాని మీద దృష్టీ పెట్టలేదు. సీరియస్ గా కథలోకి పోవాల్సిన ద్వితీయార్థాన్ని డైరెక్టర్ వినోద ప్రధానంగా చూపించడంతో సినిమా తేలిపోయింది.

నటీనటుల విషయానికి వస్తే… సీనియర్ నటుడైన రాజేంద్రపసాద్ తన పాత్రను చాలా హుందాగా చేశారు. మెచ్యూర్డ్ యాక్టింగ్ తో ఆకట్టుకున్నారు. మీనా పాత్రను మలిచిన తీరు బాగుంది. యంగ్ హీరో సోహెల్ తన క్యారెక్టర్ లో చక్కగా ఒదిగిపోయాడు. ఈ మధ్యలో వచ్చిన ఒకటి, రెండు సినిమాలతో పోల్చితే ఇందులో చాలా సెటిల్డ్ గా నటించాడు. డాన్స్ చక్కగా చేశాడు. మృణాళిని రవి ఓకే. ఆమె నుండి అంతకు మించి ఏమీ ఆశించలేం. ఇతర ప్రధాన పాత్రలను సూర్య, హేమ, హర్ష, రాజా రవీంద్ర, అలీ, సునీల్, ‘రాకెట్’ రాఘవ, సప్తగిరి, కృష్ణ భగవాన్, సన, అజయ్ ఘోష్‌, ప్రవీణ్‌, బాబూ మోహన్, పృధ్వీ, సురేఖ వాణి తదితరులు పోషించారు. వెంకట్, వరుణ్ సందేశ్, రష్మీ గౌతమ్ అతిథి పాత్రల్లో మెరిశారు. ఈ మూవీకి మెయిన్ హైలైట్ సి. రాం ప్రసాద్ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ. పాటల చిత్రీకరణ బాగుంది. వాటి సాహిత్యం కూడా అర్థవంతంగా ఉంది. చిన్నా నేపథ్య సంగీతం మూవీకి మరో ప్లస్ పాయింట్. డైలాగ్స్, యాక్షన్ కొరియోగ్రఫీ బాగున్నాయి. నిర్మాత కోనేరు కల్పన ఎక్కడా రాజీ పడకుండా సినిమాను నిర్మించారు. అయితే… కథ ఎంపికలో ఇంకాస్తంత జాగ్రత్త ఉండాల్సింది. దాదాపు పదేళ్ళ తర్వాత ఎస్వీ కృష్ణారెడ్డి మూవీ వస్తోందంటే ఆయన అభిమానుల అంచనాలు అంబరాన్ని తాకడం సహజం. వాటినైతే ఈ సినిమా అందుకోలేకపోయింది. ఇది ఎస్వీ కృష్ణారెడ్డి మార్క్ ఆర్గానిక్ మూవీనే అయినా… ఈ తరం కోరుకునే హైబ్రీడ్ మెటీరియల్ ఇందులో మిస్ అయ్యింది.

Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu review: SV Krishna Reddy’s comeback film is a disappointment

The film, starring Sohel, Mirnalini Ravi, Meena and Rajendra Prasad, lacks a coherent plot and is too simplistic

Vijay (Sohel) is an unsuccessful film director hailing from a family that makes Kondapalli toys for a living. While helping his parents sell the toys at a plush hotel, he meets the girl of his dreams Hasini (Mirnalini Ravi), the daughter of a rich landlord and a businessman Organic Venkataramana (Rajendra Prasad). He’s furious when he comes to know of his daughter’s relationship with Vijay. What’s in store for the much-in-love couple?

In a recent interview, director SV Krishna Reddy claimed he places his faith in a good screenplay over a good story when asked about the plot of his comeback film Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu. Perhaps, the statement was to keep the audience’s expectations from his film to a bare minimum. Much like its title, the film is stuck in a time warp; the story is non-existent and the screenplay is stale.

For someone who effortlessly produced family dramas and clean comedies in the 90s, Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu is a sad reminder that SV Krishna Reddy is probably past his prime. Much like his earlier films, he’s credited for his contributions across multiple departments - story, screenplay, direction and music, though there’s nothing to write home about in any aspect.

If there’s something that the filmmaker deserves credit for, the film is relatively tolerable despite the lackadaisical treatment. Beyond the romance and humour, he pays homage to many strugglers in the film industry and even justifies why you don’t need to have a good story to make a successful film. The travails of a director in the film, however, are likely to appeal to an industry insider over an average viewer.

As a film, Organic Mama.. lacks focus and is distracted by the subplots, that neither entertains nor contribute to the story. The plot is all about a couple’s efforts to earn a nod from the girl’s adamant parent for their marriage owing to class differences. However, the narration is muddled with satires on the film industry and the real estate mafia. The transformation of the girl’s father, ultimately, is too simplistic and it’s hard to understand what the fuss was all about.

The Kondapalli toys backstory that the film commenced with, suddenly takes a backseat in the second hour. Several characters arrive and leave the film sans much purpose - it’s as if SV Krishna Reddy had the dates of many comedians in the industry and didn’t know how to use them. The desperate effort to stretch the duration to a 150-minute narrative adds to the viewer’s agony.

There are too many cinematic liberties thrown in and surprisingly humour is the weakling in an SV Krishna Reddy film - such a statement would have been an oxymoron in his heydays. He clearly underestimates his audiences and the film has none of the key ingredients one would expect from a passable entertainer - humour, drama or the performances.

The lead pair Sohel and Mirnalini Ravi aren’t too bad either; they’re just stuck in the wrong film. Going by their underwhelming roles, the film feels like a paid holiday for veterans Rajendra Prasad and Meena, who get to don ad-worthy dhotis and silk saris without having to strain their acting muscles. Sunil, with an annoying voice modulation as an innocent film producer, is intolerable.

Surya and Hema hardly have anything noteworthy while many potent comedians - from Praveen to Saptagiri to Viva Harsha to Prudhvi Raj, Ali and Babu Mohan - are wasted in poorly-written sequences. The Ajay Ghosh subplot is a snoozefest at best and Sana, Raja Raveendra, Rocket Raghava and Surekhavani don’t get to add much value. The dialogues are akin to one-liners from soapy television commercials.

The climax, written more like a pre-release event speech, helps you leave the theatre with a big yawn. There’s nothing memorable about the film’s music although the number Allasani Vari Allika is the pick of the lot.

Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu is a disappointing comeback film from SV Krishna Reddy, ailed by a weak plot and a snoozefest of a screenplay. The treatment is outdated and the narrative loses track amidst a bevvy of subplots. The lead actors Sohel, Mirnalini Ravi, Meena and Rajendra Prasad are passable though they can’t salvage the film.
