Importance of Newspaper Essay: 500 Words
Introduction:.
Newspaper is an important media. Its role in the making of the nation or the state cannot be denied. Newspaper lays emphasis on democracy by way of representing public opinions quite objectively. Its approach is certainly impersonal. Objective criticisms of state affairs lead the public to choose the right ways and to uphold the right ideas.
Importance:
Social, political, economical, and other changes take place due to the awareness of the people of a state or a country. And newspaper enables people to be aware of all phenomena which are happening in the country and abroad. Besides, newspaper presents the past and the present days, thereby helping us draw a contrast between the past and the present world. By this way, newspaper helps people predict the future.
Thus, reading of a newspaper strengthens one’s consciousness of the world. If one negates the newspaper, there is little doubt that he or she must retard gradually. The utility of newspaper is not only informative but also constructive because it presents diverse, contradictory views to form a general and well-accepted opinion.
Newspaper is also a common medium of advertisement. Popular brands use to promote their product through newspaper advertisements.
Disadvantages:
But unfortunately, most of the newspapers have now become commercial. Advertisements have been quite oddly covering most of the pages of a newspaper. Political issues and news have been disproportionately highlighted. The news of scientific discovery and the narrations of the lives of the scientists have not been emphasized in the newspaper.
Consequently, reading of newspaper nowadays seems to be rather dull and boring. Even the reporting often misleads the public. What is most ignominious is that some of the leading newspapers are now politically biased. It causes bad effects to the mind of people. People, therefore, begin to lose faith in newspapers. A certain kind of chaos is now being created because of the subjective reporting and unjustifiable information.
Conclusion:
The most hideous consequence of this commercial attitude is that readers of newspapers are now divided. Certain newspapers uphold certain political views in order to draw the attention of certain people. None can begin to read a newspaper with the strictest sense of objectivity. But without the presence of proper media, no nation can progress well. Therefore, the editors of newspapers must be aware of the fact that they are not only doing business but also doing noble jobs in the making of the nation.

Newspapers are such a cheap and handy means of communication of news and people can easily afford it. What makes them low-priced for the volume of reading material that they supply are the advertisements that they publish. Such large scale advertisements cannot have any better and largely circulated means as the newspapers and are a real help to the business and the trading class. Advertisements of all sorts, of goods of all variety, are all condensed in the space of the ten, twelve, or fifteen pages of a newspaper and one can know what is available where.
Marriages have been made possible through the matrimonial columns of newspapers. What a great service to society.
Newspapers have also a great part to play in forming public opinions. There are newspapers that are owned by political parties and it is this medium through which they reach their political opinions and views to such a large section of the reading public. Every political party tries to own a newspaper.
But should newspapers give a political coloured news? That is what they should not. Newspapers are the best means of conveying news and it is expected of them to give news in an unbiased manner. People should be rightly educated they should receive news in the form in which it is. Even the editorials should be having an impartial viewpoint what is right should be called right, what is wrong should stand condemned. But this is what does not always happen.
However, whatever it is, newspapers shall ever have their importance; they serve a great social purpose and now with people becoming more and more socially and politically conscious the number of newspaper readers is also multiplying. No other means, not even the T.V. can carry all that what a newspaper carries and conveys.

- A newspaper has its own interest to so many in so many different ways the youth for employment, the businessmen for business, the politician for politics, the sports lover for sports.
- The details of the news which a newspaper carries cannot be carried by any other means and method.
- Newspapers are the cheapest means of information containing such a lot of reading material.
- Great public service is performed by newspapers their matrimonial columns arrange marriages; advertisements help in conducting business.
- Newspapers have a great part to play in educating the public in forming opinions and they should play their part impartially and without any coloring.

CBSE 2025: Class 10, 12 Sample Papers Expected Soon, Major Changes In Exam Pattern Unveiled
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the sample papers for the Class 10 and 12 Board Exams 2024-25 soon. The board exams for this academic year are scheduled to commence on February 15, 2025.
These sample papers are crucial as they provide insights into the type of questions that students might encounter, as well as the overall paper pattern for the exams. With the recent changes in the paper pattern for Class 12, many students, parents, and teachers are eagerly anticipating the release of the official sample papers.
In previous years, CBSE has typically released the sample papers for both Class 10 and 12 by July. However, this year, the delay has caused some anxiety among teachers and parents who are keen to help students prepare effectively. According to Times Now, the board is expected to release the sample papers shortly. While waiting, here's a brief overview of the expected paper patterns for the 2025 board exams for Classes 10 and 12.
CBSE Class 10 Sample Papers - Exam Pattern
For the Class 10 Board Examinations 2025, the paper pattern remains unchanged from the previous year. The syllabus has also not been revised, which means that the 2024 sample papers can still serve as a reference for students. Despite some rumours about an increase in multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to 50 per cent, the official paper pattern clarifies that only 20 per cent of the questions will be MCQs. Additionally, 50 per cent of the questions will be competency-based, which may include MCQs as well as other formats.
Since there have been no changes to the paper pattern, the structure of the questions is expected to remain consistent. Based on the 2024 sample papers, students can anticipate approximately 20 MCQs per subject. For those seeking further guidance, previous years' sample papers are available on the official CBSE academic website at cbseacademic.nic.in.
It's important to note that while the basic structure of the paper has not changed, the total number of questions may vary. Therefore, it's advisable for students to wait for the official 2025 sample papers before investing in any new study materials.
CBSE Class 12 Sample Papers - Exam Pattern
The paper pattern for the Class 12 Board Examinations 2025 has undergone significant changes, as announced in a circular released by CBSE on April 3, 2024. The most notable change is the increase in competency-based questions, which will now account for 50 per cent of the paper's weightage, up from 40 per cent in the previous year. While the proportion of MCQs will remain unchanged, the percentage of short and long-answer-type questions will decrease from 40 per cent to 30 per cent.
These changes are likely to affect the overall structure of the question papers. Although the CBSE has not yet provided an official release date for the sample papers, they are expected to be available by the first week of September.
The topic-wise weightage will remain the same, ensuring continuity in the areas of focus for students. Parents and students are advised to keep a close watch on the official CBSE website and cbseacademic.nic.in for the latest updates.

Newspaper Paragraph - Check Samples for 100, 150, 200, 250 Words
Newspapers have been a part of our life for a long time now, but with the changing modern times and digital media, the value of reading newspapers has become limited. During our school days, we were taught to make reading newspapers every day a habit.
Table of Contents
Newspaper paragraph in 100 words, newspaper paragraph in 150 words, newspaper paragraph in 200 words, newspaper paragraph in 250 words, frequently asked questions on newspaper paragraph.
Newspapers were commonplace after the popularisation of print media in the late 18th century. With the invention of the printing press, the era of information and knowledge began. In order to understand how to write a paragraph on the importance of reading newspapers, you can refer to the samples given below.
Newspapers are an important part of our life. Some people cannot start their day without reading newspapers. They are printed in various languages and even in local languages. Newspapers are delivered to our doorsteps every morning. Newspapers are one of the easiest methods of spreading news and information around the world. There might be those who read every single news article, irrespective of what they speak about. There are also people who read only what interests them. For some, it might be politics; for some, it might be sports; while for others, it might be technology. Though the number of people subscribing to printed newspapers is reducing day by day, there are still some who prefer reading them rather than the digital versions of the news on their personal phones or laptops.
Due to the severe scarcity and cost of paper, print media has pushed people to switch to reading digital news. The internet’s presence has made things easier. We can learn about the state of the planet simply by pressing a button. We may need to know and understand weather conditions a number of times. Previously, newspapers would bring this to us. We may now check the news on our gadgets to learn about current weather conditions throughout the world. News is also broadcasted on radio and television in live and recorded forms.
Cultivating the habit of reading a newspaper would prove beneficial in not just updating your knowledge about everything that is happening around the world but also in helping you improve your vocabulary and language on the whole.
Newspapers keep people informed about what is happening around the world. Major media companies publish newspapers. The news that is broadcast on television every day is the news that is printed the next day. Newspapers were initially widely circulated in Rome on a yearly basis. They largely discussed the Han Dynasty’s whereabouts. The information was written on stone tablets. Due to the high cost of publishing the news on a daily basis, an annual publication was started. As a result, the first newspaper took the form of a stone tablet. Its beginnings can be traced all the way back to the eighth century A.D.
Today’s newspapers provide all kinds of information like sports, national, state, international, political, social, economic, entertainment, etc. So, newspapers can be said to be a medium to learn all that is happening or has happened in and around the world. Reading newspapers every day has a lot of benefits, two of them being – it improves your general knowledge and helps you develop your vocabulary.
Newspapers have their own importance in the world. Newspaper publishing companies have now built applications or websites that allow users all over the world to access them. Current events and general knowledge can be learned by reading instructive articles in newspapers on a daily basis. There are a number of popular English newspapers published in India. Some of them are The Hindu, Hindustan Times, The Indian Express and The Times of India. Each newspaper has a different style of presentation though they speak about the same events/happenings from around the world.
Now, what interests a person; why do they read newspapers? There are people who feel their morning tea/coffee is incomplete without a newspaper. In addition to all the news from around the world, a newspaper also includes a variety of puzzles, comics and riddles. Supplements with such miscellaneous articles, stories and puzzles interest many. There are also supplements which focus solely on the economic developments, opportunities for work and study, what’s new in cinema and so on. Youngsters and kids seem to love these more than the main newspaper.
What most of us don’t really think about is the time and effort put into publishing a newspaper every single day. It is due to the relentless work of writers, journalists, news reporters, editors and the printing presses that we have been able to receive newspapers first thing in the morning, without fail.
How do we write a paragraph on newspapers?
In order to write a paragraph on newspapers, we need to add information like the importance of reading the newspaper, what one can expect in a newspaper, what might interest each reader, how it helps the individual and so on.
How important are newspapers in our life?
There are a huge number of people who cannot start their days without reading newspapers. Newspapers give us information about all the events happening around the world and help us stay up-to-date.

'Fuel duty next' and 'Brexit reset'
A number of Thursday's front pages lead with the prime minister's trip to EU states which began on Wednesday.
"Brexit reset" is the headline on the Daily Mirror , which leads with Sir Keir Starmer's attempts to foster a closer relationship with Europe. The paper points out that new plans on trade, illegal migration, security and technology feature in a treaty being "hammered out" with Germany.
But EU sources tell the i newspaper if Sir Keir wants to improve relations, he will have to agree to a key demand from Brussels - the easing of immigration rules for young Europeans.
Government insiders tell the Financial Times ministers want to "bolster education and cultural exchanges". However, they insist that wouldn't be comparable to youth mobility schemes suggested by some within the bloc.
Elsewhere, the Daily Mail reports that drivers are being warned to prepare for a fuel duty hike as Chancellor Rachel Reeves lines up tax rises in a "painful" Budget.
The same story features on the front of the Daily Telegraph which says Sir Keir Starmer has opened the door to a rise in fuel duty in this autumn’s Budget.
The Sun leads on its exclusive about leaked government plans which it says feature "drastically toughened up" proposals to "phase out smoking".
The chief inspector of probation tells the Times it is "inevitable that things will go wrong" when thousands of prisoners are released early next month, in an effort to tackle overcrowding in jails.
Finally, a new report by a leading think tank, the Institute for Fiscal Studies, is highlighted on the front page of the Guardian . The IFS says that "woeful budgeting" by the Home Office - under the Conservative government - led to repeated overspending on asylum support.

GCSE results day 2024: Everything you need to know including the number grading system
Thousands of students across the country will soon be finding out their GCSE results and thinking about the next steps in their education.
Here we explain everything you need to know about the big day, from when results day is, to the current 9-1 grading scale, to what your options are if your results aren’t what you’re expecting.
When is GCSE results day 2024?
GCSE results day will be taking place on Thursday the 22 August.
The results will be made available to schools on Wednesday and available to pick up from your school by 8am on Thursday morning.
Schools will issue their own instructions on how and when to collect your results.
When did we change to a number grading scale?
The shift to the numerical grading system was introduced in England in 2017 firstly in English language, English literature, and maths.
By 2020 all subjects were shifted to number grades. This means anyone with GCSE results from 2017-2020 will have a combination of both letters and numbers.
The numerical grading system was to signal more challenging GCSEs and to better differentiate between students’ abilities - particularly at higher grades between the A *-C grades. There only used to be 4 grades between A* and C, now with the numerical grading scale there are 6.
What do the number grades mean?
The grades are ranked from 1, the lowest, to 9, the highest.
The grades don’t exactly translate, but the two grading scales meet at three points as illustrated below.
The bottom of grade 7 is aligned with the bottom of grade A, while the bottom of grade 4 is aligned to the bottom of grade C.
Meanwhile, the bottom of grade 1 is aligned to the bottom of grade G.
What to do if your results weren’t what you were expecting?
If your results weren’t what you were expecting, firstly don’t panic. You have options.
First things first, speak to your school or college – they could be flexible on entry requirements if you’ve just missed your grades.
They’ll also be able to give you the best tailored advice on whether re-sitting while studying for your next qualifications is a possibility.
If you’re really unhappy with your results you can enter to resit all GCSE subjects in summer 2025. You can also take autumn exams in GCSE English language and maths.
Speak to your sixth form or college to decide when it’s the best time for you to resit a GCSE exam.
Look for other courses with different grade requirements
Entry requirements vary depending on the college and course. Ask your school for advice, and call your college or another one in your area to see if there’s a space on a course you’re interested in.
Consider an apprenticeship
Apprenticeships combine a practical training job with study too. They’re open to you if you’re 16 or over, living in England, and not in full time education.
As an apprentice you’ll be a paid employee, have the opportunity to work alongside experienced staff, gain job-specific skills, and get time set aside for training and study related to your role.
You can find out more about how to apply here .
Talk to a National Careers Service (NCS) adviser
The National Career Service is a free resource that can help you with your career planning. Give them a call to discuss potential routes into higher education, further education, or the workplace.
Whatever your results, if you want to find out more about all your education and training options, as well as get practical advice about your exam results, visit the National Careers Service page and Skills for Careers to explore your study and work choices.
