MANILA, Philippines – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) releases the School and Room Assignments for the August 2023 Civil Service Exam – Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) a few weeks before the exams.

The Online Notice of School Assignments (ONSA) for Professional and Subprofessional Levels eligibility exams is available on the CSC’s official regional pages as well as the official website.

How to use ONSA?

Checking the room assignments through CSC’s Online Notice of School Assignments is fairly easy. Here are the steps.

• Go to the ONSA page from CSC .
• Enter the Last Name, First Name, Ext. Name (if any), MIddle Initial and Date of Birth.
• Select the date of examination (August 20, 2023).
• Select the type of examination (Professional or Subprofessional).
• Accept the CSC Privacy Policy.
• Press the Submit Button.
• If problems persist, contact the Regional office for assistance.

2023 Civil Service Exam Schedule

CSE-PPT aims to establish a Register of Eligibles (RoE) from which certification and appointment to first and second-level positions in the civil service.

This is with exception to those involving the practice of profession and/or covered by special laws, provided the eligibles meet the qualifications and other requirements of the positions.

Additionally, passers of Bar and Board exams may opt not to take the Civil Service Exam as they are already considered exempted pursuant to Republic Act 1080.

Should the examinee can’t access the room assignment, he/she can directly verify with the concerned CSC Regional or Field Office.

Examinees shall bring the following requirements on examination proper. Valid Identification Card – preferably same ID presented during filing of exams; if no valid ID, bring original PSA-issued birth certificate; Notice of School Assignment generated thru ONSA, Application Receipt (if applicable); black ball-pen, water or non-alcoholic beverage placed in a transparent container.

In preparation for the upcoming exam, examinees can visit the assigned school/testing venue before the examination day to be familiar with the location.

On the exam proper, CSC reminds examinees to report earlier at the testing venue. Testing centers will be open starting at 6:00 A.M.

Additional Reminders

Examinees must take note of the succeeding additional reminders from CSC.

• Gates of testing venues will close at 7:30 A.M. Latecomers will not be admitted.
• Cellular phones or similar gadgets, calculators, wristwatches, books, and other forms of printed materials are not allowed inside the examination premises.
• Examinees shall adhere to the attire set by the Civil Service Commission. Proper attire shall be worn on the day of exams.
• Similarly, wearing slippers, short pants, a sleeveless shirt and blouse, or similar clothes are not allowed.

If you are taking the Civil Service Exam (CSE), one of the things you need to know is your school and room assignment. This information is required as you have your schedule for the test. So, what is the Civil Service Exam?

The Civil Service Exam is an eligibility test created by the Civil Service Commission. It isn’t as prestigious as the PRC Licensure Exam , the Bar Exam, or the Medical Board Exam, but it is something worth putting in your resume as it gives the candidate the qualifications to express their interest to serve the government.

The Civil Service Exam comes in two different forms: The one for professionals and the other one is for sub-professionals. Qualification

The Online Notice of School Assignment (ONSA) is a documentation or notice that specifies the testing venue or school assignment of an examinee who is scheduled to take the Civil Service Examination.

Subprofessional Level – Room Assignments

Important Reminders

1. Wearing of FACE MASKS shall be OPTIONALNOLUNTARY. However, as a matter of prerogative, there may be CSC Regional Offices that may require the wearing of face masks. On the other hand, the following individuals are still recommended1 to wear face mask: (i) elderly; (ii) individuals with comorbidities; (iii) immunocompromised individuals; (iv) pregnant women; (v) unvaccinated individuals; and (vi) symptomatic individuals.

2.  NO I.D. CARD/DOCUMENT, NO EXAM.

3.  Be at the testing venue not later than 6:30 a.m., or as required by the CSC Regional/Field Offices concerned.

4.  GATES OF TESTING VENUES SHALL BE CLOSED TO EXAMINEES AT EXACTLY 7:45 A.M. Examinees who arrive later than 7:45 a.m. shall NOT be admitted to take the exam.

5.  If feasible, VISIT AND CONDUCT AN OCULAR INSPECTION of the assigned school/testing venue at least one day before the examination day to be familiar with the school location and its route/direction, the available means of public transport, and the time and motion requirement of travelling from point of origin to the school/testing venue. DO NOT SOLELY RELY ON GPS NAVIGATION/ROUTE/DIRECTION APP TO LEAD YOU TO YOUR TESTING VENUE ON EXAMINATION DAY

6.  Wear proper attire on examination day, preferably plain white shirt/tops. Examinees wearing SLEEVELESS SHIRT/BLOUSE, SHORTS/SHORT PANTS, TOKONG PANTS, RIPPED JEANS, and SLIPPERS will NOT be ALLOWED to enter the exam venue. Also, long hair must be tied.

7.  Bringing of cellular phones, including smart phones/watches and pens/eyeglasses with built-in camera, and any other gadgets/electronic devices, including those that may facilitate video/audio recording of any test material/form, or part/portion/phase of the conduct of the exam, and all other similar items, IN EXAMINEE’S SEAT IS NOT ALLOWED. Prior to occupying the assigned seat, examinees shall be required to deposit said items and all other personal belongings in the designated area. Examinees are encouraged to use transparent bag.

8.  Use of any aid in answering the test (such as calculators; watch calculators; tablets; books, dictionaries and other forms of printed materials; and any other similar materials/items/gadgets) is NOT allowed.

9.  Bringing of the test booklet outside of the testing room/venue is strictly prohibited. The examination or test results of those found violating this rule shall be cancelled.

Examinees’ Guide

A link to the Examinee’s Guide in Taking CSE-PPT is also available through the ONSA. Examinees are strongly advised to access this link, read thoroughly, and understand fully the examinee’s guide to be familiar with the examination process.

Serving as the orientation/briefing material of examinees, the Examinee’s Guide contains comprehensive information on the conduct of the examination to include guidelines and procedures to be observed before and during exam day,among other concerns.

The Examinee’s Guide is intended for the exclusive use of examinees. Thus, examinees are advised NOT to re-distribute their copy of the guide on their Facebook Page, or any other communication platforms.

Thing to Bring on Exam Day

1.  I.D. CARD (original) – preferably the same I.D. card presented during the filing of exam application. In case of loss or unavailability, the examinee must present any of the other accepted I.D. cards for civil service exam (see Annex A), which is preferably valid, i.e., not expired on exam day.

Note: – Photocopy only of I.D. card, or cellphone photo of I.D., shall not be accepted.

– All other I.D. cards not included in the list of accepted I.D. cards/documents for civil service exam shall not be accepted.

– As a last resort, expired I.D. card may be presented for admission on examination day, provided that, the expiry date of the I. D card is within the preceding months of the year reckoning the date of examination (or from 01 January 2023 to 25 March 2023).

If I.D. card has no date of birth, examinees should also bring their original Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority, or the Local Civil Registry.

2.  CERTIFICATE OF CONSENT/RELEASE/WAIVER (only if not submitted during the filing of exam application), see Annex B

3.  BLACK BALL PEN/s ( Note : Examinees must bring their own ball pen/s. Borrowing of ball pen/s shall NOT be allowed to prevent cross-contamination . Only BLACK BALL PEN shall be used in the examination. Pencils and any other kinds of pen such as gel pen, sign pen, fountain pen, friction pen, etc. including other colors of ball pen are not allowed.)

Also, examinees may opt to bring water in clear/transparent container, and/or candies/biscuits, which shall be inspected by the Room Examiner/Proctor. However, drinking/eating may only be done outside the testing room, one at a time, and only upon the approval of the Room Examiner. Hence, water containers should be placed inside examinees’ bag and brought out only when drinking/eating.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is releasing the official list of passers for all regions in the 2023 Civil Service Exam Exam (CSC-PPT) within 60 days after the exams.

CSC advised examinees to directly coordinate with the CSC Regional Office for other concerns like verification of examinee number and further examination result-related matters.

Eligibility

Career Service Professional Eligibility is the second appropriate level for first- and second-level government positions that do not involve the practice of the profession and are not covered by other laws.

Meanwhile, Sub-Professional Eligibility is only appropriate for first-level government positions that do not involve the practice of the profession and are not covered by other laws.

Hebei University (CSC) Scholarship 2023-2024 – China Scholarship Council – Chinese Government Scholarship

Hebei University opened admissions into all degree programs in sponsorship with China Scholarship Council’s; Hebei University (CSC) Scholarship for academic session 2023-2024. The government of China sponsor scholarships that are being awarded to international students each year in order to promote cultural exchange and promoting Chinese Universities . The Hebei University CSC scholarship is a top Chinese scholarship that is open for undergraduate and postgraduate students. It can be taken in a number of fields and the medium of instruction must be English or Chinese. With that, there are other 274 Chinese higher educational institutions that are also offering these CSC Scholarships each year.

Applicants can start their application process by visiting the online portal of the China Scholarship Council. The Hebei University scholarship is among the most popular and most sought-after scholarship programs in China similar to the Confucius Scholarship, Schwarzman, Jiangsu Presidential scholarship awards, CAS-TWAS scholarships , etc.

Potential applicants for the CSC scholarship at Hebei University can take one of the following two routes:

• Applicants can either apply to the CSC Hebei University’s degree program.
• Or, they can apply through the Chinese consulate in their home country.

Benefits of Hebei University CSC Scholarship:

The Hebei University CSC scholarship is basically a fully-funded scholarship grant that covers every thinkable expense of its recipient like, tuition fees, accommodation charges, living expenses, healthcare insurance, etc. The awards are categorized based on the degree level of the recipients. These are;

• Recipients enrolling in an undergraduate program will get a monthly stipend of 2500 RMB along with free accommodation and a tuition fee waiver.
• Master’s program applicants will get a monthly stipend of 3000 RMB with a tuition fee waiver. The room and board are free as well.
• Doctoral students will be awarded a monthly stipend of 3500 RMB for living expenses. The students do not have to pay any charges for tuition or accommodation. All the recipients will get free on-campus accommodation.

Application Procedure for Hebei University CSC Scholarship:

If a potential applicant for the Hebei University CSC scholarship has a letter of acceptance from a professor of a Chinese university, then the candidate’s chances of getting selected for the CSC scholarship increase to a significant degree. This is just a trick and is not compulsory for students to get a letter of admission. Given below is the complete procedure that you can follow to apply to Hebei University CSC scholarship program via the CSC online platform.

• Locate Hebei University International Student Office website by google
• Go to the scholarship section of the Hebei University website and locate CSC Scholarships.
• Start filling an online application at the CSC scholarship application portal as well.
• You need to fill 2 applications now; one at the Hebei University website for admission and the second one at the CSC Scholarship portal for scholarship request.
• Fill the blanks in the admission and scholarship application form provided.
• Choose category B, which is for the CSC scholarship.
• From the drop-down list, select Hebei University and fill in its agency number.
• Submit the CSC application and afterward download the submitted form for yourself.
• Gather all the documents required to be attached with the application.
• If there is a requirement to submit a Hebei University application form, submit it, and download the PDF version of it as well.
• See if at Hebei University have an application fee. If so, submit it.
• Attach all the documents with the downloaded application form.
• Send the set of documents to Hebei University’s foreign student office.
• Wait for CSC scholarship results at the Hebei University website.

Again if the candidate already has an acceptance letter from a professor of his/her desired university, then there is a more chance that he/she will get selected.

How to fill the Hebei University CSC Scholarship application form:

• Create a profile or account of yourself on the CSC official website.
• Fill in the online application form given therein.
• Make more accounts in your name if you want to apply to more than one university to increase your chances of getting selected.
• Note the agency number of the university you are applying to or that you want to get in.
• Type in that agency number in the application form.
• Select the category of the CSC scholarship that you want to get according to your level of study.
• Fill in the rest of the details.
• Submit the form.
• Download the form after submission.

How to submit all the required documents for the CSC Scholarship:

• All the documents that are required to be submitted along with the application form are listed on the scholarship’s online platform.
• Every university requires a different set of documents but for convenience, here are some documents that all the universities will ask for; at least two recommendation letters , all the previous degrees, their transcripts, scholarship application form for CSC, copy of the passport (attested), a study plan for graduate students, and SOP (Statement of Purpose) from undergraduate applicants, a research plan or proposal from potential Ph.D. candidates, an acceptance letter (not mandatory), physical examination form for foreigners, and a language proficiency certificate (preferably IELTS or TOEFL).
• Make sure that whether or not the university of your choice needs a separate application to be submitted by the applicant alongside the CSC application form.
• If there is no need to submit a separate application, submit only the CSC form, and send the documents to the university by mail.
• If the university requires you to submit an early application or wants to review your documents online before receiving their hard copies, submit the documents online as well along with the application.
• In the application form, there will be a blank asking you to fill in the name of the scholarship sponsor or guarantor, write in the ‘CSC Scholarship’ in that section.
• Review your application one last time before submitting it.
• Submit your application. Also, send your documents to the international students’ office of your selected university or universities.

Things to consider before submitting the CSC Scholarship application

• Make sure that you are submitting verified copies of all your degrees and transcripts on the CSC Scholarship website and also to the University Website (in case the university wants you to submit a separate application).
• Request a minimum of two of your ex-professors to make a recommendation for you via a recommendation letter. A good recommendation letter is meant to reinforce your application.
• Having an acceptance letter from the professor of your desired university is not mandatory. But getting one may increase your chances of getting the scholarship. It just shows that the professors of your desired program regard you as an appropriate candidate and that they will be happy to take you up as a student.
• Documents like a motivational letter, study plan, SOP, or a research proposal can make a huge difference. At least one of the above documents is required at all levels. Make sure that you prepare these documents with extra diligence.
• The language proficiency scores of IELTS or TOEFL are very important as well. Ask your previous degree institution to give you a certificate indicating that your previous degree was taught in English. Submit that certificate along with the scores of IELTS. This will strengthen your application.
• Once you get the scholarship, consult the Chinese Embassy to grant you a Student Visa for studying in China. After getting the visa, you will be ready to embark on your educational journey in China.
