4. Complete the Application for Graduate Program Admission by entering your information in each of the sections. Fields with a red asterisk (*) are required and must be completed before you can submit your application. Additional questions may become required based on your answers to a previous question.

6. Click "My Account" to submit the required supplemental documents and receipt of the non-refundable application fee in PDF format.

1. Completed, signed and submitted online Application for Graduate Program Admission.

2. An earned baccalaureate degree in a discipline considered appropriate to the graduate program from an accredited university recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 (or 2.5 for conditional admission) or higher on a 4.0 point scale or equivalent.

3. Ministry of Higher Education letter recognizing your degree in the U.A.E. if it is granted by a foreign university (if applicable).

5. Official transcript with translation in English (if necessary) indicating degree received and when.

6. An official copy of English language proficiency document for:

• Programs Taught in English: ▪ A TOEFL score of 213 CBT, 79 iBT (or 197 CBT, 71 iBT for conditional admission), or ▪ An IELTS (Academic) overall band score of not less than 6.0 (or 5.5 for conditional admission), or ▪ 1400 on the EmSAT English examination (or 1250 for conditional admission).

• Programs Taught in Arabic: ▪ A TOEFL score of 133 CBT, 45 iBT, or ▪ An IELTS (Academic) overall band score of not less than 4.5, or ▪ 950 on the EmSAT English examination.

7. An official copy of Arabic language proficiency document for programs taught in Arabic: ▪ 1100 on the EmSAT Arabic examination.

8. Current resume (CV) in English that indicates work/professional experience and educational milestones.

9. 250-Word essay (only for Master of Arts (M.A.) in Communications)

10. Writing sample in English (only for Master of Arts (M.A.) in Diplomacy and International Studies)

11. A passport copy and UAE visa (if applicable).

12. A passport-size photo.

13. An Emirates ID card copy (UAE residents only).

14. Application fee payment receipt.

1. Admission of male and female national and international students to Zayed University master’s degree programs is subject to minimum academic and, in some instances, work experience standards which are defined by the Office of Graduate Studies.

2. Colleges may set higher admission standards for specific programs.

3. Although admission to graduate programs is open to males and females of all nationalities, admission is limited and competitive. Applicants meeting the minimum entry qualifications are not guaranteed admission.

4. The size of each cohort is normally limited to 30 students.

5. The payment of the non-refundable application fee of AED 420 should be made by bank transfer (referencing your full name and application number):

Mohamed Bin Zayed University Scholarship in Artificial Intelligence

Applications are being received for the Mohamed Bin Zayed University Scholarship in Artificial Intelligence. This scholarship program to study in Asia is fully funded and aims to attract both local and international students for masters and doctoral degree studies at the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in the United Arab Emirates. The program accepts candidates from all countries who hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, and other relevant Engineering majors, without the need for prior working experience.

All admitted students at the MBZUAI university will be provided with a full scholarship that includes monthly allowance, health insurance, accommodation, etc. The university will also secure internships for its students through collaboration with local and global companies.

Founded in 2019, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) is a graduate-level, research based academic institution that is located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates . Mohamed Bin Zayed University Scholarship Benefits

Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence provide a full scholarship to its admitted students. Therefore, all admitted students on a full-time basis will be able to complete their studies with the following benefits:

• 100% free tuition fee
• On-campus student accommodation
• Health insurance
• UAE visa sponsorship for non-UAE nationals.
• MSc: AED 8,000
• PhD: AED 10,000 (Married PhD students may request to live off-campus and receive an additional AED 5,000 housing allowance subject to approval and submission of official documents.)
• MSc: AED 30,000 (single) or AED 33,000 (married; will require the submission of official documents)
• PhD: AED 36,000 (single) or AED 39,000 (married; will require the submission of official documents)

Note : To maintain the scholarship, stipends, and other benefits, students are expected to maintain high academic standing, comply with the university code of conduct, and fulfill certain requirements during their study period.

Mohamed Bin Zayed University Scholarship Eligibility

To apply for this scholarship to study at the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, applicants should meet the following criteria.

• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a S.T.E.M field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering , Mathematics, Physics and other relevant Science and Engineering majors, from a university accredited or recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE).
• Have a minimum CGPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent for Master’s and PhD applicants OR.
• Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent for joint Master-PhD applicants.
• Applicants must provide their completed degree certificates and transcripts (in English) when submitting their application. Students who are in their last year of graduation can apply using their transcript and expected graduation letter. Upon admission, they must submit a completed degree certificate and transcript.
• Standard TOEFL iBT with a minimum total score of 90
• IELTS Academic with a minimum overall score of 6.5
• EmSAT English with a minimum score of 1550
• TOEFL iBT and IELTS Academic certificates are valid for two (2) years from the date of the exam while EmSAT results are valid for eighteen (18) months:
• UK, USA, Australia, and New Zealand applicants who completed their studies from K-12 until Bachelor’s degree can be exempted from English exams requirement
• 150 in Verbal Reasoning
• 150 in Quantitative Reasoning
• 3.0 in Analytical Writing

Application instructions:

To benefit from this scholarship program, applicants only need to apply and get admitted in any masters or PhD program at MBZUAI. Please click on the apply button below and follow the instructions to submit your applications.

During the application, candidates will be required to write a statement of Purpose in an 800-word essay that explains why they would like to pursue a graduate degree at MBZUAI and includes the following information:

• Motivation for applying to the university
• Personal and academic background and how it makes you suitable for the program you are applying for
• Stand-out achievements, e.g., awards, distinction, etc.
• Goals as a prospective student
• Preferred career path and plans after graduation
• Any other details that will support the application?

Furthermore, Ph.D. applicants will be asked to submit a research statement which is a document summarizing the potential research project the applicant is interested in working on and justifying the research gap which the applicant would like to fill in during his/her study. It should mention the relevance and suitability of the applicant’s background and experience to the project and highlight the project’s scientific and commercial significance. The research statement should include the following details:

• Problem definition
• Literature review
• Proposed research/methods/solution (optional)
• Study timeline (a table, figure, or a small paragraph presenting your plans for the four years in the Ph.D. program)
• EmSAT English with a minimum score of 1550.

Selected applicants will be invited to participate in an entry exam that will include questions related to the following topics:

• Math : Calculus, probability theory, linear algebra, trigonometry and optimization
• Machine learning : Machine learning algorithms and concepts such as linear regression, decision trees, loss functions, support vector machines, classification, regression, clustering, convolutional neural networks, dimensionality reduction, neural networks and unsupervised learning
• Programming: Knowledge surrounding specific programming concepts and principles such as algorithms, data structures, logic, OOP, and recursion as well as language–specific knowledge of Python
• Ph.D. in Computer Science applicants are expected to have knowledge and understanding of the theory of computation, computational complexity, databases, computer architecture and operating systems
• Ph.D. in Robotics applicants are expected to have knowledge and understanding of kinematics, SLAM, reinforcement Learning, ROS, Gazebo and linear systems

Graduate Student Financial Support

Zayed University awards scholarships to first-time graduate applicants. Students who apply by regular decision and submit required credentials by the application deadlines posted on the website, here . will be automatically considered for scholarships at the point of admission. However, students who wish to be considered for Zayed University's graduate scholarships are strongly encouraged to submit their applications for graduate program admission early.*

*While the majority of new graduate students will receive a scholarship, there is a cap on the total amount of scholarship funding that can be awarded per year by Zayed University.

Graduate Merit Scholarships

Zayed University provides graduate merit scholarships to attract highly qualified students for study leading to a master’s degree. These scholarships are awarded to graduate students based on academic merit as determined from academic performance in senior baccalaureate courses. All entering graduate students are considered for this award.

 A variety of scholarships are also awarded at the beginning of each academic year to international students interested in enrolling in undergraduate programs offered by Zayed University.

Zayed University Alumni Graduate Scholarships

Zayed University alumni who receive full admission to a Zayed University graduate degree program are eligible for a scholarship valued at up to 10% tuition costs.

Graduate Teaching, Research and Administrative Assistantships (Not Available for Spring and Fall 2024

Qualified graduate students may be eligible for limited and competitive Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA), Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) or Graduate Administrative Assistantship (GAA) support on a part-time basis while studying full-time.

The individual duties of the awardees may vary depending on the type of Assistantship they hold, the project they are assigned to work on or the unit their assignment is affiliated with.

Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA) enhance the learning experience of Zayed University undergraduate students by complementing the activities of the course instructor.

GTA duties may include but are not limited to:

• facilitating discussion sections or tutorials;
• asssiting in laboratory sessions;
• holding weekly office hours;
• developing teachign materials;
• limited grading of homework, exams or projects;
• proctoring examinations;
• distributing and copying reading materials;
• preparing answer keys or supplementary notes; and,
• GTA recipients may be requested to attend the instructor's lecture regularly. This time is uncompensated.

Graduate Research Assistants (GRA)  work with Zayed University faculty to conduct research.

GRA duties may include but are not limited to:

• conducting literature reviews or library research;
• conducting interviews;
• collecting or analyzing data; and,
• preparing articles, reports or presentations.

Furthermore,

• GRA recipients assist and report to the faculty supervisor, and
• GRA recipients are not independent researchers and are not directly responsible for the outcome of their research.

Graduate Studies Deanship in collaboration with the Colleges, the Center for Educational Effectiveness and the University Library will provide a pre-experience workshop and orientation program for GTA and GRA recipients each semester.

Graduate Administrative Assistants (GAA) will be assigned to assist in administrative or academic units of the university by performing duties related to the administrative functions of their unit.

GAA duties may include but are not limited to:

• assisting in events;
• providing customer support;
• performing searches and documenting findings;
• organizing statistics/information; and,
• contributing to the development of reports and presentations.

Tuition Assistance for Zayed University Employees

Limited and competitive scholarship support is provided for qualifying full-time Zayed University employees to assist in completing a Zayed University master’s degree program that directly supports their career development. The amount of tuition assistance may be up to 50% of the total tuition cost of the applicant’s chosen master’s degree program.

Tuition Discount for Sponsored Graduate Students

Graduate students may qualify for discount on tuition fees if they are part of a group of students who are sponsored by an entity that has a valid written agreement with Zayed University

The ICT Fund, a subsidiary of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), seeks to strengthen the technological education of UAE citizens by introducing the “Betha program” to help develop a generation well versed in science and technology, and who can lead the UAE’s future in the ICT industry.

The ICT Fund offers scholarships for distinguished UAE citizens who want to pursue Zayed University’s Master of Science in Information Technology (Cyber Security) program.
